Rove Rage

Election '10: An iconic pundit and strategist takes heat for his election night analysis of a Tea Party victory in Delaware. Can we now focus on those who are really leading America over the cliff?

Karl Rove's political street cred is beyond dispute. He's the guru who, to the dismay of Democrats and liberals still clinging to their hanging chads, guided that cowboy from Texas, George W. Bush, to the White House — twice. When he speaks, people listen.

On Fox News last Tuesday, Rove ran off a laundry list of everything that's wrong with Christine O'Donnell, the candidate backed by the Tea Party Express and Sarah Palin who won the Republican Senate primary in Delaware. The Democrats, he said, would pick her apart on personal "issues" such as how she paid off her college loans.

The reaction from the "angry mobs" that became the Tea Party movement was fast and furious. Many thought Rove's remarks would be a good commercial for O'Donnell's Democratic opponent in November, Chris Coons.

Rove could have better spent the time marveling at the political force that has propelled Joe Miller in Alaska, Sharron Angle in Nevada and now O'Donnell to victory against entrenched political interests. An unelectable Scott Brown, R-Mass., now sits in the "Kennedy seat" in the U.S. Senate and the unelectable Marco Rubio, R-Fla., is poised to join what promises to be a most interesting GOP caucus in that same body.

My brain just fractured, thank you very much.

So, I owe you one.

Sean Bean played Alec Trevelyan (in James Bond's Goldeneye) and Boromir (in Lord of the Rings).

And Bond's You Only Live Twice had its screenplay written by Roald Dahl (the author of the book Charlie and the Chocolate Factory).

Cheers!

Karl Rove's political street cred is beyond dispute.

After all, he took a growing Republican majority and led it to a political bloodbath. No wonder the media love him.

Being part of the republican establishment Rove is not understanding what is really happening out here. Even he is losing touch a little, and it makes him upset. He is a moderate. This is what moderates do...Bitch and moan about real conservatives gaining power because he knows they won't put up with any crap.

Think about it, he advised Bush not to fight back against all the dem media smears!! Rove treats politics as a business. The man is nothing more than a moderate republican who wants to hang on to whatever advisory power he thinks he has left! Conservatism ends his way of life!

This is about the people of America taking our country back from the elites, a prospect that frightens Republicans among their number as much as it does Democrats. One of the wonderful revelations with which we have been blessed is to learn how many supposedly on our side (most recently Mr. Rove and Dr. Krauthammer) stand with the elites and against the American people. Take note and never forget.

Keep in mind, Rove allegedly was/is an advisor and supporter of Castle. He had a horse in the race, his horse lost and now he’s throwing a tantrum...like elites do!

Isn’t it time for Rove to crawl back under the rock from which he came?

The moment Karl Rove's career ended.

He wasn't smart enough to recover.

BULL!

In 2000 it the the NRA - Chuck Hestion, and gun owners who 'guided' Dubya to the White House. And in 2004 it was the 'Swifties' who torpedoed Kerry (pun intended) and 'guided' Dubya to the WH.

The 'guru' sat along for the ride. Right place, right time, 100% lucky.

People forget that in 2000 Dubya was up 5% against Gore, about two-three weeks before the election. Then 'the guru' hid him from the media and Hanging Chads and Courts were the result.

(If I ran for a seat on my HOA Board I wouldn't let Rove near me - and Two Seats are open, their begging for Home Owners to join!)

“Still, even though you pointed out that the race was within the MOE, it went from +2% to -5%. A +2% lead in a race with a 4% MOE is a 71.6% probability of winning. A -5% loss is a 7.16% probability of winning. Let’s hope this poll was an outlier.”

I agree with you - this is not good news, especially as it was a Ras poll - even given that he included leaners. I’ve been seeing more Dino ads addressing Murray’s record - but they’re really too polite for my liking. He is talking $1.5T annual debts and spending money we don’t have, et al. That’s good - but he needs to address Obamacare and other measures that the Democrats like Patty Murray are rubber stamping ‘against the will of the American people’ and he needs to raise his voice from sounding like he’s announcing a golf match...

I hope he wins! But that’s my take on his ads so far...

“He has lost his bully pulpit as an effective election manager, who would want him now?”

Right. Ineffective for RINOs, opposed by true Conservatives. Mebbe he should join MSNBC so they can claim to be ‘fair and balanced.’ He seems to like to give cover to RINOs and RATs in any case.

“Rove is history. He is part of the Republican cabal that mamaged to lose America to a nationalist socialist movement
headed by Barrak Obama.”

True this - and let us not forget. If we somehow manage to wrest control of this nation, of this government from the white knuckles (I’m talking about hands that hold too tightly, who’s knuckles change color - not race!) of the socialists who are holding tightly to power - WE MUST remedy this. We must govern well as Constitutional Conservatives who believe in limited government.

I would add one clarification, this is a prospect that frightens the professional political class Republicans and ALL RATs. There are some good citizen servants in and coming to the Grand Ol' Tea Party...;)

I call 'em TEApublicans.

Agreed. Frugality will cause the entitlement crowd to go bonkers though, but it is way past time.

Thanks for the insights on the race. I, too, am tired of the way that Republicans choose to fight these fights using Marquess of Queensberry rules, while the Democrats are using Fight Club rules.

I can only conclude that the usual suspects — the Paulinian/neo-libertarian/third party zealots — are ginning up anger at Rove for their own nefarious purposes.

Are you guys related? You are both fighting the same good fight against the zealots here.

Considering we’re teetering on the edge of the abyss as a nation, it is WELL past time...
