PHOENIX A judge has blocked the most controversial sections of Arizona's new immigration law from taking effect Thursday, handing a major legal victory to opponents of the crackdown.
The law will still take effect Thursday, but without many of the provisions that angered opponents including sections that required officers to check a person's immigration status while enforcing other laws.

This is what I say!
I can't believe that no one is clamoring for this unelected black-robed party hack's impeachment/recall on the grounds that she exceeded her authority as a judge.
Her job as a judge was to determine if there was a conflict between the state and federal law.(There was none.) It was not her job to determine what was in the public's best interests. That is for ELECTED OFFICIALS in Arizona to decide.
John Kyl recommended that Bill Clinton appoint this woman to the Federal Courts and the rest of the GOP Senators confirmed her on a voice vote back in 2000. Too little, too late, Senators.
don’t go to mexican restaurants which have illegals , don’t hire illegals.
don’t give them anything.
They are here hurting our country, they are going on a day strike last year to hurt this economy so two can play at that game.
don’t give them the money and stop doing business with them
What he didnt bother with, regardless of his big lies about security lately, was join with 81 other congressmen/senators in the amicus brief supporting AZ 1070.
Here is the list of signers. What a shock.....NO JOHN McCain!
The Congressional amicus brief is posted here at the House Judiciary Republicans website.
The following Members of the House and Senate have signed onto the brief:

Good post. You should hang around. If contributing was the criteria, most of us would be gone.
The states, along with the American people are going to lose this battle. Your government (Left and Right) wants to end the United States in favor of a World Government.
This is no longer “conspiracy theory”, this is fact.
Don’t believe it? Then, where are the Republicans to defend our sovereignty? Why aren’t they defending Brewer—who is merely attempting to enforce laws that already exist?
Do you see your Republicans holding press conferences to express their outrage? Are they making a big push to support what would be a winning issue for them, given the popularity of these laws?
Where is the right?
They are having a drink and a smoke with the left—plotting/executing their next move.
Your GOVERNMENT is hell-bent (and hell-bound) on merging us with a World Government. They must destroy our sovereignty, and our way of life to achieve this end.
It will end horribly.
AGREED]
the feds want total power and to hell with anyone who opposes them
I’;ve had it
When the Executive Branch, the Legislative Branch, and the Judiciary are all trampling the Constitution...it is left to the states and the people to set it straight. We have the ballot box this November and in 2012. I pray we do not have to resort to the next “box” preserved to us by the 2nd amendment to get it done.
Arizona should just go ahead and enforce its law and get the state’s part of standing up to this travesty started.

Now this is a good start.
No, it doesn't end badly, if you're on the right team.
But it WILL be bad for those who haven't signed up. (Rev 12:12)
Obama is slick. Are we shocked? I mean really!
Of course this judge was most likely cherry picked to hear this case. She is a Clinton appointee and I would bet a radical leftist.

It always does. Every time a society, especially what was once a civil society, is destroyed.
I wish I disagreed with you, but history agrees.
This is no doubt what it will come to. These elite/commies won't go peacefully. The sooner we get at it the better.
Ariz. Gov (Brewer) Calls Ruling “Temporary Bump” (Will Appeal)
[Can’t appeal without a final verdict]

Responsibility2nd: No final verdict has been issued. And even when it is issued, it will be appealed and bumped to to the 9th circus.
I found that there are various version of the law out there on the 'net, which could add to the confusion. The final law (with all edtis) is as you quote it.
However, the characterization of the law in the press is still wrong. They are presenting it as if it is mandatory for a LEO to determine status for every stop. Not true. They have a lot of discretion. Once an arrest is made, then I read this to mean the check is mandatory.
Further, a good portion of the media is presenting the law as if it either or allows or requires LEOs to stop anyone they suspect of being illegal. This is not the case.
Finally, you may want to acquire a bit of tact.
This country already IS mexico! Look what’s happening in my state

I think your experience proved my point.
Why yes, yes we are.
Wow...nobody is even talking about Palin regarding this. The real blame is Obama and his crowd but I guess you don't want to say that?
You sound like the "It's Bush's fault" crowd with just the name changed to Palin.
