Garofalo: Bible a 'Work of Fiction' for 'Child-Like Audience' By Nathan Burchfiel Created 06/25/2010 - 08:43
Sometime-comedian Janeane Garofalo never passes up an opportunity to slam conservatives or, apparently, Christianity. The Huffington Post gave her an opportunity June 24 to kill two birds with one stone.
In an interview [1] promoting her upcoming special on a network called EPIX, Garofalo compared the most widely-read book of all time, the Bible, to a Bill O'Reilly autobiography and a children's book authored by former President Bush.
When asked by a Huffington Post reader which of those three publications she'd rather read, Garofalo said, "Actually that's like six and one half, that is six and one half right there." Presumably, she meant to use the popular idiom, "six of one, half a dozen of the other."
"That's just three works of fiction targeted to a child-like audience so any, all, any one, none," Garofalo said. "I don't know how to read either, so that's kind of a drag."
During the interview, Garofalo also expressed disappointment in President Obama. "It's a drag that he's such a conservative," she lamented.
Garofalo's made her disdain for religion clear in the past. During a June 16 appearance on "The Joy Behar Show" on Headline News, she called prayer "anti-intellectual." Behar later defended Garofalo on ABC's "The View," saying the comedian should have said prayer was "un-intellectual."
Garofalo has also built a long resume of attacking conservatives. She has compared the GOP to neo-Nazis [1] and called Tea Party protestors "functionally retarded [1]," and "racist backward motherf***ers [1]." She has called the stable of Fox News anchors and hosts, as well as conservative talk radio hosts, liars [1].
It’s as if Hollywodd keeps these idiots in suspended animation perpetually thinking like a 20 year old. I guess that what you get when you form a society (hollywood) consisting of people who barely made it through high school before going to hollywood to make their fortune. I suppose that is why most struggling actors don’t work as lawyers before they hit it big.
Just remember Romans 12:19...
Never take your own revenge, beloved, but leave room for the wrath of God, for it is written, "VENGEANCE IS MINE, I WILL REPAY," says the Lord.
What a blowtard!
She should have picked the O’Reilly book. Contrary to her ignorant stereotype of him, she would probably agree with him 95% of the time.
not totally unlike St. Augustine’s view
Look, Janeane, baby, I've got nothing for you. The phone just isn't ringing. You are just fading into the woodwork. You gotta get out there...get out there and do something, or say something to get your name in the papers.
You've got to let people know you are still alive.
Say something outrageous and I'll try to get it in some rag.
No, I don't think I can score the National Enquirer. But the Huff Po might give us a chance.
Say something way out there to smear the Right Wing Nut Jobs...or maybe the Christians and Jews...something Biblical.
Any publicity is better than no publicity at all. Just say something.
Something outrageous! And make it snappy!
18For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.
19For it is written:
"I will destroy the wisdom of the wise;
the intelligence of the intelligent I will frustrate."
See Matthew 18:3.
Cheers!
“Something seriously wrong happened in her childhood, I guarantee it.”
Yep, something went horribly wrong, allright.
They kept the afterbirth and threw away the baby.
And they’ll soon have that power if we don’t do something to stop them.
They’re currently looking for an excuse folks. Why do you think 0bama and the democRats are so blatantly governing against the will of the people? To provoke a response.
During the interview, Garofalo also expressed disappointment in President Obama. “It’s a drag that he’s such a conservative,” she lamented.
Wow. Clueless moron doesn’t even begin to describe this libtard “unit”...

I’m amused by this story.
Would like nothing more than for Ms. Garafolo to one day have one of those moments where she feels GOD’s presence and has an awakening. I’d like her to be saved and come to know and love her savior Jesus.
B -Actress trying to get attention.... ping.
She is a sad example of Hollyweird sub-culture, suffering from a with a bad and apparently terminal case of oral diarrhea. Fortunately, Chaucer, Shakespeare, Swift, and Dostoevsky did not agree with her:

No one hates God like this without something to seriously embitter them.”
How many years do you think her dad locked her in a closet for?
How ever many it was, she must have been let out before the Jr High years.
She has the attitude and intelligence of a straight D Jr High school student.
“6.5 of one and 6.5 also of one” ¿Que? What did she say?!
For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing
Thank you MrB. There is an answer to EVERYTHING in the bible...even Ms. Garafalo.
“Wonder if she believes in Global Warming?”

For many (most?) secularists, “environmentalisism” is nothing less than their religion.
“Something seriously wrong happened in her childhood, I guarantee it.
No one hates God like this without something to seriously embitter them.”
Also, it makes me wonder how many dogs did she put in a bag and light on fire?
...and does she still do it?
