Time author on CNN stated a WH source told him that McChrystal has submitted his resignation, but Obama has not yet accepted it.
Anyone else thinking McChrystal 2012?
In the article by Michael Hastings, an aide describes McChrystal as “disappointed” by his first Oval Office meeting with President Barack Obama, whom he considered unprepared. It goes on to say that even though McChrystal voted for Obama, the two never clicked. And McChrystal is quoted as saying that he found it “painful” when the president reprimanded him last fall for speaking openly about his desire for more troops in Afghanistan.
“BTW: Servicemen should not publically disagree with policy - they are taught to respect the office [if not the man]. If feeling compelled to speak out - they should resign first. They are then free to speak their minds ...”
My son is in the Marines. When he volunteered to meet Michelle, his CO declined the offer, mumbling something about “we don’t need THAT kind of trouble...”
All one really needs to know is whether or not he voted for Obama. If he did, it shows that McChrystal could not identify a mortal threat to our country that was staring him in the face.
If he did not vote for Obama, he deserves to be fired for allowing his aides to talk to god forsaken Rolling Stone magazine. In bars.
I'm sorry, but either way, McChrystal is a fool, his military credentials notwithstanding.
I don't think so. He has apparently told people that he voted for Obama.
If he were to decide to run, this shouldn't be too much of an issue ... remember, Reagan was a registered Democrat until he saw the light.
I believe it. His last option...shine a light on these incompetents and walk out the door.
Been rooting for Gen Stan until I read that he voted for Obama??? If this is true than he really is not fit for office. Now I do not know that it is true, but if he voted for Barry to be the Commander In Chief, than I cant respect him???
I think the plan was not fire McChrystal but to publicly castrate him in DC and then send him back to the war as obama’s eunuch. We will see what happens now.
If Zero does not accept the resignation does that mean he has to kiss McCrystal’s ass?
They may all be radical leftists (well, not McChrystal) but maybe they have realized that Obama’s agenda is different from theirs. I’m sure the reason that wierdo leftist Rahm is leaving is because he’s the son of an Israeli general and is getting a little bothered by Bambi’s pro-Muslim anti-Israel stance.
Rahm probably thought at one point that he could use Obama, but I think that he - and maybe others - have seen the light now and realize that Bambi, dumb as he is, has all the power and is going on his own course with our country.
He can say that he's gay - after all, DADT is still in effect, right?
Dont expect any grand attack on Obama or the Rules of Engagement from General McChrystal just because he steps down or retires. Officers commissions last for the officers lifetimes. They are subject to recall until death and are subject to the UCMJ until death.
If General McChrystal gets too outspoken he will find himself in command of a radar station in Iceland or a weather station in Antarctica.
Wow.. There was a caller on Hannity’s radio show just a little while ago who predicted exactly this. He said McChrystal should resign, and make Ubama accept it. He said Ubama would prefer to keep McChrystal on because he’s a convenient whipping boy, a name to pin defeat on when the war goes totally south. If some new guy replaced McChrystal, the war would be all Ubama’s.
LE, the Whitehouse appears to be unraveling before our eyes.
Obama has "spillage" everywhere. This has been a very bad day for Obama, but perhaps a better day for America.
So does this mean the meeting is off ? If not then at the meeting Mcrystal should ask Obama for his resignation too...
LOL..
Why did this guy vote for him?
You have to wonder why any general would vote for the usurper.
Are you saying an officer can’t resign his commission?
“If some new guy replaced McChrystal, the war would be all Ubamas.”
btt
“Wesley Clarke?”
Ashley Wilkes.
Right, but he "saw the light" some 30 years before he was elected to the presidency as a Republican. Yes, Reagan didn't formally change his party registration until sometime before the run in 1968, but he only publicly endorsed Republican presidential candidates beginning with Eisenhower.
