There's a lot being discussed about the oil leaking in the gulf, and rightly it SHOULD be discussed.

Not much is reported on the oil plume gushing out of the floor 6 miles away and I've read reports of minor leaks found elsewhere in the Gulf. Will BP have to pay for that too? Also wondering, was there any seismic activity in the area, at the time of the accident?
To: Uncle Ike
it would behoove whatever grownups are left in this country to find ways to cut through the bureaucracy and finger-pointing to get the mitigation and cleanup problems under control... Unfortunately, that belongs to the role of the President under the CWA. Only the President has the authority to cut through the crap. Yes, he is given that much latitude during a Spill of National Significance.

I can't just buy an equipment failure. It is fairly clear by now that PB underestimated the pressures they were working with. Equipment and procedures were inadequate for this well..

I saw one of the oil worker widows on CNN last night. She said her husband was acting strange the last time he was home. Checked his will and got his financial matters in order. He said there was a lot of strange “stuff” going on and he would talk about it when (if?) he got back home.

Outstanding link. Feels like I'm on the Bridge of the ship. Thank you. Now, it would be cool to track the progress of the relief well being drilled, with a depth chart. The relief well is the only sure solution to this disaster.

60 Minutes did a piece right after the accident. Yes, I know CBS can be liberal. I view them kinda like an analog clock that has completely stopped.. A stopped analog clock is 100% correct twice a day. 60 MIN is not correct twice a day however; they do get some things right.
It completely explained what caused the problem. You can go to www.cbs.com and view the entire show. I believe it was May 16 right after the accident.

But I haven't read very much about the reason WHY the well failed in the first place. The accident was caused by a series of very stupid human errors.
The President of Samson Oil and Gas gave an excellent technical analysis of the chain of events in this Wall Street Journal Article: The Oil Disaster Is About Human, Not System, Failure .

True, but understand, offers have been used by experienced oil well emergencies, SKIM SHIPS! Been used off Africa and elsewhere on spills but the Prez will not call them in because of the Jones Act. It is a simple reason why the Prez won't let them come in, UNION WORKERS NOT ON SHIPS!!
They offered their services but was turned down.
Blame on BP is acceptable with the spill. But, three other companies were involved with the drilling PLUS, the ‘FEDERAL Safety workers were awfully busy while working, WATCHING PORN MOVIES!! One was said to had watch the movies for 8 HOURS AT A TIME! This if often quoted in the N.O. papers.

Anyway, like I was saying, shrimp is the fruit of the sea.
You can barbecue it, boil it, broil it, bake it, sauté it.
There’s shrimp kabobs, shrimp creole, shrimp gumbo,
pan fried, deep fried, and stir-fried.
There’s pineapple shrimp, lemon shrimp, coconut shrimp,
pepper shrimp, shrimp soup, shrimp stew, shrimp salad,
shrimp and potatoes, shrimp burger, shrimp sandwich.
That’s about it.
