Report: Attack on Jindal Aide and Boyfriend Politically Motivated (Beaten for wearing Palin buttons)

Joe Brown and Allee Bautsch

Allee Bautsch, chief campaign fundraiser for Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal, and her boyfriend Joe Brown, were savagely beaten Friday night in New Orleans after leaving a Republican party fundraising dinner by a group of thugs who reportedly targeted the couple because they were wearing Sarah Palin pins.

Bautch's leg was broken and Brown incurred a broken jaw and nose as well as a concussion.

The Hayride reports that a source who visited Bautsch at the hospital the day after the attack says they were told the couple was attacked for wearing Palin buttons:

Two people at the Brennan’s event have now confirmed that the protest had largely broken up by the time it ended, but we also understand from someone who visited Allee Bautsch in the hospital Saturday morning that she and Brown were followed and attacked expressly because they had Palin pins on (she heard one of the attackers say “Let’s get them, they have Palin pins on” – so the attack WAS politically motivated as its victims understood it. It was not a mugging, it was not an argument gone wrong and it was not a bar fight.

The story of a Republican and her boyfriend being viciously attacked for wearing Palin buttons has yet to make national headlines, unlike say, unfounded rumors of nasty words being said by Tea Party protesters.

Oh, yes it has been established.

Oh, no, it has not been established. Yes, people have made the argument, but that does not mean it has been established. I'm really not in the mood to get into any of this birther nonsense, so let's just agree to disagree about Jindal's eligibility.

Why is that a surprise, people regularly had their cars and homes attacked for having Bush bumper stickers or signs in their yards... the left has become even more deranged since then...

Not surprising in Rush's case. He often waits until things solidify a bit before commenting. I think he doesn't want to step into a story like this that hasn't been corroborated. Not being critical, but I have noticed this tendency with his show.

That's why I like Rush. If he doesn't comment, the facts aren't all in. And often, when he's suddenly away, a story will break that day, the next, or perhaps after. Then he comes back after the dust has settled to weigh in. I'm convinced he has well-placed sources that tell him when an important story is about break. He goes away, see how things settle after a bit, catches how the LSM is spinning it, then goes on the air with his opinion.

The SEIU attack on a black guy at a Community meeting certainly does, yet where did that go??? If a conservative of ANY COLOR is attacked the media ignores it and so does law enforcement, if a liberal even claims without any proof they were attacked in any manner, even just verbal taunts, THAT is a huge deal in the media... seems our biggest problem in this country remains the media.

Media Matters has attacked Free Republic and Gateway Pundit for reporting on The Hayride reports:

When Gateway Pundit quotes Free Republic, you know the truth is going to lose
April 13, 2010 5:01 pm ET by Eric Boehlert

And it did!

But if you think Gateway Pundit's Jim Hoft is ever going to correct this lie, even after Michelle Malkin has called out the claim as being bogus, you simply don't understand how portions of the far-right blogosphere work: You just makes stuff up. Period.

Gateway Pundit's fact-free claim was that a young GOP fundraiser and her boyfriend were "savagely beaten for wearing Palin pins" over the weekend in New Orleans. And what was Gateway Pundit's source for the "Palin pins" scoop? That bastion of journalism, Free Republic.

Thanks for the link, Onyx,..,. I found this one post there informative as well...

A lot of us were excited that the Southern Republican Leadership Conference was held in New Orleans this weekend. We knew that the attendees would have a good time, that the media would be in full force, and since the French Quarter Festival was being held the same weekend, there would be an abundance of great food and great music for all to enjoy.

A problem that NOLA has had since Katrina is that even though most of the best restaurants are back, and the musicians pretty much never left, tourists are leery of coming. Vacationers for some reason didn’t want to visit a place where crime and poverty was out of control, where the government was non-existent, and where even a modicum of public services was a dream not likely to be realized. For those of us in the area, we advised friends who visited that a good strategy was to stay as close to the Quarter at night as possible. If you had to go someplace else (like to Commanders Palace, perhaps the greatest restaurant in the area) take a taxi there and back.

So how did New Orleans celebrate all of these high powered political elites coming to visit? Eighteen people were shot during the weekend. This wouldn’t be so bad, except that 8 of them were felled in a shootout on Canal Street, right where the tourists are likely to congregate. This continues the nice streak of 26 murders in March, while Newark is making news for going homicide-free.

But wait, we weren’t done yet. The Louisiana Republican Party decided to hold a fundraiser at Brennan’s in the Quarter. As she left the party, Bobby Jindal’s chief campaign fundraiser and her boyfriend were accosted and severely injured. So, outside the most famous restaurant in the most secure part of the city, the police were unable to protect anyone.

Let's explore your contention.

Muhammed Muhammed Mullah and three of his wives stop at Dulles Airport on their way to their final destination of Tampa.

Wife #2 goes into labor and births Muhammed Muhammed Mullah Jr.

The next day they fly to Tampa, spend 5 days and 4 nights, fly back to Riyadh, never to return to the USA.

According to you, Muhammed Muhammed Mullah Jr. is completely eligible to serve as President of the US of A, and its Commander in Chief.

Tee hee! Giggle! Giggle!

Gateway Pundit has a message from a photographer at the Brennan's event:

I am the photographer for the LA GOP and I was at the Brennan fundraiser. When I left about one hour or so after all 3 of the governors left the crowd of protesters had grown. The were very nasty, signs were vulgar using the “F” word. As I left the restaurant I was yelled at – there was a family visiting the restaurant with a baby stroller – they had nothing to do with the fundraiser and they were being heckled using the “F” and “MF” words.. A couple of them made comments to me.
Thanks, Eric

Arguably, yes, that person would (unfotunately) be Constitutionally eligible to be President. Plenty of people are Constititionally eligible to be President, who would (and should) never be elected.

It’s more likely they were beat down for being white than for Palin pins.

Agree; though do not know full details. What is surprising in this 'offered scenario' is that these thugs would know even the name 'Sarah Palin'. As likely, this petite, blond and attractive young woman, was their 'starting point'.
