It's guts ball time for an Army surgeon who has vowed not to deploy to Afghanistan with his unit unless President Obama provides evidence that he's a "natural born" citizen of the United States.
In response to previously published statements by Lt. Col. Terrence Lakin, the Army presented an official letter of counseling that directs him to report to Fort Campbell, Ky., on April 12 to begin deployment preparations with his unit.

Your analogy using "Pointe-Du-Hoc" was, IMO, not applicable because the Rangers were fulfilling their assigned mission. Similarly, Lafkin's assigned mission is to deploy and provide medical services.
Until such time though, perhaps you should just STFU!
Lakin addresses his letter to Obama:
The Honorable Barack Obama
President of the United States of America
1600 Pennsylvania Avenue NW
Washington, D.C. 20500
Dear Mr. President:

Not possessing your fine legal mind, I could be wrong, but hasn't he recognized Obama as President by addressing him as such?
“I also find it a bit odd to see someone who joined FR in 2008 calling me an impostor. As impostors go, Ive been around a long time - Aug 1998, with over 11,000 comments.”
Oh for heavens sake!
Your namesake Mr. Rogers nic:
Fred McFeely Rogers AKA Mr. Rogers (March 20, 1928 February 27, 2003) was an American educator, Presbyterian minister, songwriter, and television host. Rogers was the host of the television show Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood, in production from 1968 to 2001.
Get a grip. Or a sense of humor. You take yourself much too seriously.
Just because you have been here a long time doesn’t give you leave to be deliberately obtuse without being challenged...even by me.
I whole heartedly support questioning authority!
You asked me if I had served to which I replied no but have a brother that did, then went on to explain I understood the difference of military vs. civilian.
My analogy that you are referring to may not have been perfect in your eyes but I did contemplate that perhaps in Lafkin’s eyes he was fulfilling his duty to the Constitution.
Relax, it's Sunday.
No. He didn’t get it...like he doesn’t get the birth requirement thing.
Either he understands it and is deliberately saying he doesn’t, or he is past trying to reason with. When you can’t reason with someone, stop trying. He will only drive you around in circles and you will pass the same stop sign over and over and over until you run out of gas.
Obama is a birther, do you think he is cookoo, too?
Exactly so.
Some people want to learn, and some people want to blow smoke.
My original question to you was terse and I guess my infrequent attempt at an apology was not well communicated.
This is false. There's no proof the state of Hawaii issued the jpg that Obama presented. The HI DOH has refused to say they issued the alleged COLB or that it's real.
You dont have to be nice, smart, or loyal to be an American citizen.
This isn't about whether she was 'nice or smart.' She married two foreign nationals and moved to another country to live with one. After she divorced the second one, she still lived outside the United States. Her loyalty is zilch.
The birth certificate is proof enough (remember, there are also birth announcements in local papers, comments by eyewitnesses, etc), UNLESS someone has strong evidence to the contrary.
A jpg is NOT proof enough and the birth announcement show no place of birth. Your alleged evidence is 0-2.
What I admit is that he didnt spend his entire life in the US.
Which means he wasn't solely raised as an American ... period.
Simple - his mom didnt love him any more than his father did. She was a self-centered liberal bitch who didnt care for her son, and I suspect his racism is rooted in her rejection of him.
You might be right about this. I figure he was a problem child or that he didn't get along with Lolo, so they sent him away. I've seen this happen in a lot of broken families. His Americanism was by default and not out of natural-born loyalty. You still only have two half-truths to rest on.
So it is acceptable for children to question a parent's authority?
No harm no foul FRiend.
The written word can often come acrross in ways not intended, I didn’t take anything you posted to me as terse nor did I mean any of mine to you to be.
That's never been proven.Tammy Duckworth did not say Obama was born in Indonesia; the author of the article himself has stated that that was his error, not hers.
Sorry, but I don't believe that. The reporter claimed that he found the part about Obama's birth in Indonesia on the Internet. That doesn't wash.
And Obama has not reported that he was born in two different hospitals. Obama has consistently stated that he was born at Kapiolani. I'm at a loss where you even got this idea.
Several places reported it, until Obama settled one place and had 'corrections' made. Here's a story about it:

Who qualified him?
But I was speaking of the hypothetical case where a person was elected and took office, but then was found to not be eligible.
I'm not sure that your question is relevant in the context of this discussion, however the reality is that children do question their parent's authority. How parents answer the challenge determines the form and duration of the questioning.
Not possessing your fine legal mind, I could be wrong, but hasn’t he recognized Obama as President by addressing him as such?
His parents were Palistinian Arab Muslims. He was always a Muslim. Attended the local Mosque in Killeen, just about 4 miles south of the East Gate of Ft. Hood on the corner of Omar Drive and Ft. Hood streets. (I drove by it yesterday, and will again later today). IIRC,prior to that he attended the same mosque in the DC area that some of the 9-11 hijacker attended while in the area.
I believe to those who believe Barack Obama is not qualified Constitutionally to hold the office of POTUS, he is recognized as “de facto President in posse” and as “de jure President in posse.” That doesn’t fit neatly onto an envelope.
Nor very likely would having addressed a letter as this man did be recognized as an admission against interest before any tribunal.
If he has it, why has he been so reluctant to produce it in a Court of Law. An image on the internet doesn't count. Especially one of a document that is just a computer printout in the first place, and thus pretty easy to cobble up a "real" looking fake.
Regardless of the merits of Lakin’s case, I suspect since the Army leadership has been justly criticized for not dealing with the Mooselimb Major quickly enough, they will be looking for a chance to show they have reformed in that aspect. Lakin may be made an example of.
