The Hutaree militia and the rising risk of far-right violence By Eugene Robinson ....By contrast, there has been explosive growth among far-right, militia-type groups that identify themselves as white supremacists, "constitutionalists," tax protesters and religious soldiers determined to kill people to uphold "Christian" values. Most of the groups that posed a real danger, as the Hutaree allegedly did, have been infiltrated and dismantled by authorities before they could do any damage. But we should never forget that the worst act of domestic terrorism ever committed in this country was authored by a member of the government-hating right wing: Timothy McVeigh's bombing of the federal building in Oklahoma City. It is dishonest for right-wing commentators to insist on an equivalence that does not exist. The danger of political violence in this country comes overwhelmingly from one direction -- the right, not the left. The vitriolic, anti-government hate speech that is spewed on talk radio every day -- and, quite regularly, at Tea Party rallies -- is calibrated not to inform but to incite....

I sometimes wonder if the media wants the GOP to win in November because they think that will make it easier for Obama in 2012 (he'll just blame all his failures on the GOP congress).

Prove it or shut up!
no one with a brain believes statist propaganda any more. All we see is that the power that be are announcing that they will tolerate no resistance to the full blown implementation of the democrats new socialist order.
As opposed to the rising risk of losing America to a bunch of insider communists........
Eugene Robinson, famous far-left toord. Nothing to see here, move along .....
Does "far right" mean there is a 'near right' ... almost right? ... quite right?
There is only right and wrong.
Nothing is more right than right, nor is anything more wrong than wrong.
Always read "far right" as .... right.
Synonymous with 'correct'

Unfortunately that is a perfect description of much of our electorate these days.
I am still trying to figure out what these guys did that was illegal, and how the government was in the right. It reminds me of watching a saturday morning cartoon such as the Smurfs and the villain was just evil because he was portrayed as evil.
OK, I admit it
Call me a “Constitutionalist”
Yep, I’m with you. These people have been arrested for thought crimes. And the thoughts they have were precisely the same as those of the Founding Fathers. This is all contrived to keep the Dems in power in 2010 and make Obama the President for Life after 2012. The motives of the Obamunists are pretty transparent now.
Eugene Robinson. Another black, rabble rousing, grievance filled AH.
Eugene Robinson is a racist.

They’ll just keep trying until something sticks and they can find some way to demonize their opponents.
Does anybody remember, btw, that when this raid was first announced, the group was described as an “anti-Muslim” group and CAIR in Detroit was even out there bragging about the arrests? Supposedly, somebody associated with the group that was of “Muslim descent,” whatever that means, and was involved in setting up the arrests.
Granted, first reports are often confused, and that aspect disappeared fairly quickly. But if you go back over the early threads on the incident here, I’m sure you’ll see it.
In any case, what I am seeing in the local headlines now is not “right wing group arrested,” but “Christian group arrested.” Very strange.
And I’m a racist.
Yes, I think long distance runners rule! Sprinters are just lazy. Ohhhhhh, look at me, I can run a hundred yards!
Any race under a mile is for losers.
What no teabaggers on the list?
