In a press release just handed to Fox by the FBI, the six Michigan residents, two from Ohio, one from Indiana are charged with “seditious conspiracy.”
Reportedly, Hutaree is accused of attempted use of weapons of mass destruction. Charges range from August 2008 to today. The militia group Hutaree are said to have conspired to oppose by force the authority of the US Government.
The members viewed local, state and federal law enforcement as "the brotherhood," also known as their enemy, and have been preparing, the FBI says, to engage them in armed conflict.
According to one plan released by the FBI, the group was to kill a law enforcement officer, then during the funeral precession, hit again with IEDs to kill more LEOs.

I agree. All indictments are one-sided and no one is guilty until proven so.

I have no dog in this fight. I only hope that the US government has reasonable, provable grounds for doing what they have done, because if they don’t, more serious trouble will follow on its heels.
My position? I am generally against the combination of gun power and religion wherever it exists in this world. On the other hand, beware licking one’s chops when someone you disagree with is taken down by the government. . .in another time, it could be you.
I am a great believer in following the law, regardless of political persuasion. And I expect my government to do the same, whether I agree or disagree with the result.
I read their website on Sunday, before the news went viral. There was nothing of the odious porn on that site at that time. Now it has been filled up with it from folks who are angry with them. It’s really too bad, as the group’s own words serve just fine for the rest of us to judge them without all of the pornographic, irrelevant silliness that makes it more difficult to get a sense of who these people are.
Disagree, be angry, fine. But to flood the site with porno, to my mind, makes you as mindless as the people for whom you hold comtempt. Sophomoric.
I just got home from work, I know its well into the evening hours back east and most are probably NOT home yet on the west coast (I’m in Wasilla, Alaska) so after a brief review of comments and the general consensus of this event I think Obama has failed to swing the negative opinion on this.
The Federals have already screwed up big time with Waco, Ruby Ridge and a few other lesser known events where without getting into microscopic examination the people involved were for all purposes patriots.
Patriots, as human beings we may have excesses with certain other beliefs, one group may be in a religious undertone, another may be survivalists, and quite a few do it just because they can in America. When these militia groups cross the line into very profound illegal activities such as drug trafficking, stolen merchandise, prostitution and such then by all means they should be shut down.
Unfortunately and I say this in a round about method, I’m sure most of you get the impression of what I am saying, we are being sought out, there are hunters looking for any group right now that has all the right ingredients to be explosively demonized. As was occupied France in WW2, were the Resistance breaking laws? and by whose definition? The Germans? I make my stand on that explanation and if it were shown to be that this militia had something illegal its being defined as illegal during a time of occupation by enemy forces.
And there is no denying America is being occupied by an enemy from within, an elected official that can literally define anything as being illegal or seditious.
I was scoffed at last week when I suggested we be like a captain of a hunter-killer sub, we go deep and silent, the enemy will announce his arrival because they are impatient and overly confident they have the superior numbers and firepower.
There will be an amnesty passage soon, my guess is july, but well before then we will witness the execution of raids upon any group that has enough control to turn the tide of the public away from Obama, away from his Healthcare Reform and his negativity with our allies, most notably Israel.
His polls are dropping faster than a lake behind a breach dam, we must make sure they cannot repair the dam.
And as a Muslim Obama will in small ways act like a Muslim, he will use human shields, he will run away when a confrontation is inevitable and when he wins a battle will parade and strut. I honestly hope Sarah Palin has some prophetic vision to pass on to the people, something to really make a stand for.
And I also hope its mot because she became a martyr. Take care Sarah.

Hmmm This sounds more like the Obama Administration....take possess any property of the United Stated contrary to the authority therof....

That people with religious beliefs should own guns? Or that priets, nuns and monks should not own guns? Or that Muslims should not own guns? Or that the Vatican should be a gun free zone?
Only atheists should own guns?

Heck, I think there’s another one.
While law enforcement sometimes bungles things (like Randy Weaver and whole Ruby Ridge fiasco), it sometimes destroys groups that it should. Until I understand which type of group these people are, I'm willing to give law enforcement the benefit of the doubt.

Nonetheless, as abhorrent as the content of Hutaree.com appears to me. . .I still support their right to their beliefs, until they cross the line and attempt to use firepower to force or terrorize others to succumb to their world view.
Personally, I don’t care for the content of their site. But on the other hand, innocent until proven guilty. I do not support the government scapegoating anyone, Right or Left.
Those of us of a certain age have seen enough of that in our lifetime.
Let’s hope the FBI has a good, sound case. I will assume otherwise until proven different. But if it doesn’t and this is just political grandstanding, I will be the first in line to holler.
