DEMINT: White House land grab
Washington Times ^ | 3/2/10 | Senator Jim DeMint

Posted on 03/03/2010 6:28:44 AM PST by hope

You'd think the Obama administration is busy enough controlling the banks, insurance companies and automakers, but thanks to whistleblowers at the Department of the Interior, we now learn they're planning to increase their control over energy-rich land in the West.

A secret administration memo has surfaced revealing plans for the federal government to seize more than 10 million acres from Montana to New Mexico, halting job- creating activities like ranching, forestry, mining and energy development. Worse, this land grab would dry up tax revenue that's essential for funding schools, firehouses and community centers.

Re;

“...take the AK-47, drive home very carefully and never look back.”

There may come a time where you will need to be prepared to engage and neutralize anyone who tries to take it away from you - or die in the attempt, as death will probably be preferable to capitulation to what the World intends for us.

If you are determined to bear arms despite the power of tyranny prohibiting that exercise of your God-given Natural Rights, then you’d better become proficient in the use of said weapon, practice as much as possible, and cache a significant supply of ammo.

Then make sure that you possess the courage and determination to USE it when the time comes.
Please Do NOT go crazy or panic and use it too soon or inappropriately, either.
Being a “lone wolf” Patriot is probably a losing proposition and may well do more harm than good to the Liberty cause.

Network and learn.

“A Well regulated Militia” suggests a certain level of organization, too. Not a bad Idea methinks.

Prepare and pray to whatever Diety you hold dear that we never have to use any of this stuff or find out the hard way whether we have the guts to actually do it.

A lot of Americans are just buying a lot of guns and ammo for the Enemy, whether they know it or not.

Re. “MBR”; Just for fun, run a search on it.
I don’t like GOOGLE but pick what pleases you.
Just bear in mind that some search engines tend to repress certain “Un-PC” information, and/or share search records with Ivan.

...I’m just sayin’...

Re:

“In old days it was to grab other peoples stuff and put them in slavery.”

...Any you imply that things have essentially changed all that much over the past 7,000 years or more?

Well yeah; the technology has changed. The tactics might be a little more sophisticated. Languages change somewhat... culture evolves - but if anything remains constant in this Earth, it’s probably human nature.

America’s Founding Fathers had that fact down pat, and accurately predicted, on the basis of that knowledge, just what we are dealing with today, some 240 years later.
If anything, it would have surprised them that it took this long.

Oh; they not only suggested what Americans should be prepared to do about it when it happened, as they knew full well that it would, but expected us to do it - if America still had any Americans left in it, that is.

Hope and pray that it might be accomplished without a great deal of violence and bloodshed.

Stay tuned...

Excellent post. Keep up the good work. Someday down the road people are going to understand the situation we are in today is by design. It’s by the design of organized Socialist opposition to American freedom that inhibits their goals of Global domination.

Clinton was also a part of that organization, but filled his own pockets rather than dutifully perform as expected by his Socialist benefactors.

Obama is a “Yes man” for that organization, and is doing the job Clinton was expected to do.

Anyone with Corporate Administration experience should be able to watch Obama, and his Clinton retreads Administration, and see precisely what is going on.

I've got craters in me from being "pinged" on this subject, but don't stop!!!

I heard one of the black "leaders" saying a couple of months ago that white America is preoccupied with "property rights" and the country must be transformed into one that is concerned with human rights, instead. I wish I could remember who said it and quote exactly what was said, but I can't...

We are in agreement on all you say. I am 72 and stable, in good shape and very strong for my age. I would be very reluctant to take a life but would if necessary.

I don’t know the legality of ownership of an AK 47. As a result, wouldn’t know where to practice.

I live in Texas.

US Citizens are sick and tired of being controlled by the radical environmentalist lobby and those in government who make these stifling laws protecting spotted tree toads or whatever the heck they use as an excuse to keep us from being independent.

Some Citizens, but not nearly enough.

He wants solar and windfarms so that his pals at GE can make a mint.

I wish that was all there was to it, but he has much more in mind for our country, and most of us won't like it. This Country is all there is standing in the way of a New World Order, and he intends to remove our ability to stand firm.

The mid Klamath River area in California is slated for two national monuments: the Siskiyou Crest monument north of the Klamath and west of I-5 and expansion of the Oregon Cascade- Siskiyou National monument into the area north of the Klamath and east of I-5. The County already has 63% of its 6,300 sq. mile land base in federal ownership.

First they implemented a Wild and Scenic Rivers designation which stopped activity that impaired the “view shed” of people on the river. This meant that there could not be salvage logging on areas burned in wildfires. Then they designated large areas as wilderness, in which no motorized activity or resource development (other than pre-existing grazing) could take place.

Then they implemented the Northwest Forest Plan (northern spotted owl) Aquatic Conservation strategy (salmon) to restrict timber harvest. Under NEPA and the Equal Justice Act, attorneys for environmental organizations get paid to sue. Then they declared the marbled murrelet, coho salmon and Siskiyou Salamander as endangered to provide more restrictions/prohibitions over timber, mining and agricultural activities.

Around the same time, Reed Noss and the “Wildlands Project”
declared focused on the issue of connectivity of habitat for species and proposed large areas of the country to be “re-wilded.” This was in harmony with the UNEP movement for “sustainability” which would move people into concentrated populations in communities where their impact would be localized. (”Smart growth.”) The Klamath area was designated for re-wilding. (Google Wildlands Project Klamath: http://www.freedom.org/el-97/sep97/wild-sep97.htm)

Then they declared vast areas “roadless” so that timber could not be harvested there. Then they declared a moratorium on suction dredge gold mining, so that this resource could no longer be developed. Then they tried to push through a TMDL under the Clean Water Act that would require every activity in the Klamath Basin to have a conditional use permit and would prohibit any discharge of sediment - including roads, any use of water that would elevate temperature, any runoff from irrigation of farms, control over any livestock grazing. The TMDL and Clean Water Act were also used to require impossible permitting conditions on the hydropower dams on the Klamath River.

Then they signed the Klamath agreements to remove four hydropower dams and eliminate Iron Gate and Copco Reservoirs.

Now they want to declare the area a National Monument. That is how the progressive agenda is done, boys and girls.

. . . . Off Topic Ping. Thanks, George76.

From the article:

"A secret administration memo has surfaced revealing plans for the federal government to seize more than 10 million acres from Montana to New Mexico, halting job- creating activities like ranching, forestry, mining and energy development. Worse, this land grab would dry up tax revenue that's essential for funding schools, firehouses and community centers.

"President Obama could enact the plans in this memo with just the stroke of a pen, without any input from the communities affected by it.

"At a time when our national unemployment rate is 9.7 percent, it is unbelievable anyone would be looking to stop job-creating energy enterprises, yet that's exactly what's happening.

[snip]

"The 21-page document, marked "Internal Draft-NOT FOR RELEASE," names 14 different lands Mr. Obama could completely close for development by unilaterally designating them as "monuments" under the 1906 Antiquities Act.

"Using the Antiquities Act, President Carter locked up more land than any other president had before him, taking more than 50 million acres in Alaska despite strong opposition from the state.

"President Clinton used the authority 22 times to prohibit hunting, recreational vehicles, mining, forestry and even grazing in 5.9 million acres scattered around the country. The law allowed him to single-handedly create 19 new national monuments and expand three others without consulting anyone.

"By voting against my amendment, the Democrats tacitly endorsed Mr. Obama's secret plan to close off millions more acres to commerce.

"If enacted, the plan would mean fewer jobs for Americans.

"The Democratic Congress refused to stop it, but one sure way Americans could help block it is if they decide some Democrats should lose their jobs on November."

Thanks, Lucy.

This ‘land grab’ scares me nearly as much as the ‘health care grab’.......maybe even more.

I guess next they’ll try to cede our property back to the Sioux. (actually, there has been talk of that)

Sorry not to get back sooner guys/gals. I get on FR first thing in AM sometimes not able to get back till after work.

MBR: Main Battle Rifle, preferably the more violent .308/7.62x51mm

I highly recommend obtaining a copy of Boston’s Gun Bible. This book covers everything we as citizens we need to know regarding freedoms and protecting them in the future. Remember our freedom comes from our creator, not the constitution or Bill of Rights.

Again, great thread, great posts. You are good friends here.
