California Young Americans for Freedom (YAF) chairman Ryan Sorba generated a media controversy when he was shown at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) denouncing the organizers for inviting a homosexual Republican group, GOProud, into the event as an official sponsor. In "controversial" remarks, Sorba said homosexuality was unnatural and that he welcomed more debate and discussion about the subject from his political adversaries.
But what many people don't realize is that Sorba's "outburst" was provoked by a speaker who preceded him, Alexander McCobin of Students For Liberty (SFL). McCobin went out of his way to use valuable time from the podium to thank the American Conservative Union, the main CPAC organizer, for making the controversial decision to approve GOProud's participation.
David Keene, a lobbyist, is the chairman of the ACU and personally approved GOProud's involvement in CPAC.
Sorba told AIM, "I think CPAC went overboard this year. I don't think he [Keene] should be sitting at the top of CPAC." He noted that CPAC over the last several years has also allowed groups such as the ACLU to have exhibits at the event.
"What's next?," Sorba asked. "Are they going to have Republicans for Obamacare? Republicans for free abortions?"

There has been some progress.
The sexual choices made by homosexuals are self-defaming.
>> I take it you are against the homosexual agenda right? <<
Against the Agenda, but compassionate towards the people and their own rights and lives as they see fit to lead them.
I don’t think the Gay agenda should be taught in schools as a matter of sheer mathematics. Even if you use the Kinsey Report for your numbers, only 10% at most of the population is Homosexual or has Homosexual tendencies. School and other places of learning should be catering to the societal norms that 90%+ of Americans follow by default. The only concession is that we shouldn’t teach our children to hate homosexuals. We should leave it at “Well Timmy, some people are just different “. We should teach our children to be indifferent or at the very most agnostic towards it. I think actively promoting it is bad, and forbidding it outright leads to more curiosity and makes it tempting forbidden fruit.
I don’t think the government should get involved in punishing two people of the same sex and legal adult age from shacking up any more than preventing any other normal couple from shacking up either. When we invite the Government into our bedrooms, straight or otherwise we lose our inherent god given freedom.
You may not like it, but that is the price of freedom, you have to take the -10% you don’t like with the +90% you do like.
so you have no problem with a father marrying his daughter and the Govt should not stop any kind of marriage even if it is the will of the people who have been pushed into stopping their agenda?
just a simple yes or no will suffice if that helps.
Its been my observation that some who complain the most about intolerance are quite intolerant themselves. Could determining who is intolerant depend on whose self-interest or agenda is being gored?

If they are both of Legal Age and one is not the dependent of the other then they can knock themselves out. Doesn’t mean the government should be able to stop everyone from openly mocking them and calling them the crazy moonbat loonies that they are. That mockery and societal scorn is part of the social contract and should not be meddled with by the govt.
I love that somebody named “bendover” made a comment on that.
wow
speechless
you have no problem with a father marrying his daughter,
I cannot even believe I am reading this on a conservative website.
I feel sick
You need to brush up on your biology. The behavior most definitely is unnatural.
(It is also immoral so at least you were half right)
If they are both consenting adults and want to take there god given rights to take their genes and throw them in the cesspool of inbreeding, then they should be able to fail with a capital F. They shouldn’t be able to complain about the neighbors mocking them when they have to go move to some secluded area to avoid scorn from society.
Legal yes, Socially acceptable, no, Genetically Wise, Not at all.
Granted this is an extreme example, but should the government really pry into crazy looney people’s lives? That is the question, and how far into their lives and how far is too far in interfering?
Talking about marrying relatives, Einstein married his first cousin, that is pretty icky right there by today’s standards, but cousin marriage was fairly common place in the old world.
Yes - that is encouraging. More progress is needed!
:-)
With all due respect, Manc, despite a legal prohibition on sodomy until the late 1950s, your native UK has been notorious for (closeted and not-so-closeted) buggerers running the nation, both as Tories and Labourites, to say nothing of the aristocracy. The French even refer to homosexuality as “The English Disease.” From your perspective, as an immigrant, do they have more power here (cultural or otherwise) or back in the UK at this point?
>> Shall we get something straight about homosexual bahavir? It is NOT unnatural. It is immoral.
You need to brush up on your biology. The behavior most definitely is unnatural.

You ever live on a farm? I have seen bulls mount each other and cows do the same. Granted they were in a feedlot or pasture, maybe the behavior is natural but only manifests itself in crowded environments such as cities as a form of natural “population control”.
GraceG thinks a man and his daughter should be able to marry.
Sick s*** indeed.
No, Personally I think it is wrong, I just don’t think the government should interfere.
You couldn’t be more wrong. Conservatives are NO anti anyone, we are anti ANY liberal and progressive POLICY, and defiantly against any organization that promotes those policies, as GOProud does.
here’s the problem with your view though.
there is no mockery they get their hate crimes bill passed and it is not them moving but you or me and my kids.
anyone who thinks this is just about marriage or serving openly is naive or just plain dumb.
They go step by step look at MA.
they said civil unions then marriage then they went after Catholic charities and forced them to close down with adoptions.
They then used it for a bar exam thus making you believe in their sham marriage.
it is now taught in schools how the prince fell in love with he prince.
This is read to 5 year olds for crying out loud
then we have how homosexuals stick their fist up another mans ass
their agenda keeps gong on and on and a line has to be drawn in the sand and I have done that
marriage is between a man and a woman nothing else will do. Ignoring their agenda or even helping them by saying keep Govt stopping them but they use Govt to push their agenda.
Youre completely intolerant of anything having to do with homosexuality, even though Christian values preach tolerance of sinners.
Love the sinner hate the sin. Is it love to enable someone to remain in their sin and end up in hell? Or is it truer love to confront them with their sin and make it very uncomfortable for them to remain in that sin, to show them how they can get off the road to hell?
Love doesn't allow people to go to hell without a fight.
You issue a veiled threat against my life and essentially damn my soul to burn in Hell despite the fact that Im fighting the same fight as you.
No one issued a thread against your life that I could see. As to casting you into hell, no one but God can do that. And He sasy in Romans 1 that those who support homosexuality are headed that way. (see post 51)
how is it that you can call yourself a Christian?
I have accepted that Jesus is the Son of God and that He died to pay for my sins. I have accepted that sacrifice and made Him Lord of my life. I try my best to follow His direction (given to us in His word the bible). It's really pretty easy, agree with God and you're always right. If you had a gay family member, would you cast them into Hell?
I have a 'gay' family member. I'm not casting him into hell, he's casting himself there. I'm doing my bvest to make the road so uncomfortable for him that maybe, just maybe, he'll reach out to Jesus for help getting off it.
