Black farmers possibly over 70,000 of them will get cash payments and debt relief from the federal government totaling $1.25 billion, in reparation for alleged racial discrimination suffered under the Department of Agricultures loan programs, the Obama Administration has agreed.

Different pieces of the same Marxist turd.

I’m putting my waders on and offering a counter-point. This is not, to me, a slam dunk issue. It could in fact backfire on us if we do not have our ducks in a row.
[Just so you know, I’m not a lawyer.]
A civil rights suit is what the Civil Rights Act is all about. I agree, the constitutionality of that act probably should have required an amendment rather than legiislation. But here we are.
Farms are expensive things to run efficiently with the latest equipment. Reporting over the years has laid the groundwork for this settlement. This 1.5 billion is the kind of thing a REAL stimulus bill should
I’m not certain that this is truly “reparations”. As I understand it, this is a result of the Civil Rights Act.

Note, a 1964 study and a 1986 book. [But I admit they are just quick googles.]
Also, 1.5 billion is the least of our problems. If that was the worst BO did to the budget, that would be nothing. I don’t want to see redistribution, but a court settlement like this will hopefully settle this lawsuit for good. And I can’t think of a better time economically to settle such a suit.
Obama is guilty of much, but the article that explains things in a NORMAL fashion shows that he's not trying to do some across-the-board, class-action reparations thing. It's a case that was settled in the 1990's that was already funded to 2.2 billion, that ran out of cash because of inflation.
Newsmax is DEBKA, American-style.
This could even be an ambush to make us look like racists. Obama is desperate to fire up his base.
Nefore I comment on any article, I read two things: The title and the source. That’s all I read, of course — but it always gives me the whole picture. If the source is DEBKA or Newsmax, I know it’s pure BS. DEBKA and Newsmax cherrypick lines or facts to present an inaccurate picture almost as badly as TIME or Newsweek does.
Nefore = Before. MUST GET COFFEE
That's a heck of a lot of Thunderbird (and Koooool-aid!)
IIRC, Mike Espy was black.
I personally respect the Chris Ruddy of eld. But I agree —
I too am a poster who proudly hasn’t read a complete article before posting since 1859.
We're not far behind, methinks.
Thanks for pointing that out, I looked him up and he is.
Interesting story around him, eh?
This whole mess seems to have benefited lawyers the most.
Certainly, I believe some actually suffered discrimination (and the scams actually hurt them)but much was lawyers advertising and getting in on this.
It was a scam of some sort and not by black people. (though some lied to take advantage of it)
“Even black caucus leader Bennie Thompson, D-Miss., in comments about the white farmer lawsuit against USDA, has said, I can see little difference in the way black farmers were treated in Pigford and what has happened to the farmers in this suit I believe (the white farmers’ lawsuit) has the potential to be larger than the black farmers’ suit once word gets out.
It mostly appears to be corruption.

ZIMBABWE and SOUTH AFRICA and OBAMA....follow the line and the path to...
Sorry, I can’t leave this story alone, it’s VERY interesting after digging into it.
It seems more about corrupt politicians— greasing their palms by helping lawyers get easy money.
The farmers aren’t benefited NEARLY as much as lawyers.
With the whites now in it, too—it seems a bottomless pit.
Almost seems Michael Espy, CERTAINLY Dan Glickman (the way he left that barn door WIDE open) set this up.
Bennie Thompson may just be being honest or ???
Wish a good reporter would dig more into this story, very, very interesting and seems it’s a story of corruption.
Our politicians rip us off so bad.
I agree. I believe that every descendant of black slaves needs to be taxed to the hilt for the services of all the yankee soldiers who served in the War Between the States, and they must pay a big bonus to all of the descendants of yankee soldiers KIA.
Let’ see, that equals umpteen trillion. Ok. We’re even.
Adios.
I think we should offer Obama 25 billion to resign.
