And so it begins:
CPAC embraces the new Mitt Romney

South Carolina mulls 2012: Romney? Palin? Huck?

Romney now biggest threat to Obama head to head

These are just a few examples from the last two days.
You'll also notice the (once again) packed straw poll at CPAC, and a sudden surge in Freepers attacking Sarah Palin at every turn.
It seems the push is already at full force. Mitt Romney is the guy to beat, like it or not (remember that McCain enjoyed -5% support at FR during the campaign), and the GOP is circling the wagons early this time.
Add to that several weekend columns out-of-nowhere attacking Sarah Palin again (George Will, Dorothy Rabinowitz, Kathleen Parker, et al).
let there be no doubt, the organized effort is afoot.
Why don't we REWARD Romney and his ignorant, callus, backstabbing,
voter-hating, legion of women-haters? [/s]
a lot of media talking points in that paragraph! Reagan didn’t have a degree in communications/journalism from Idaho! Yep, they’re 2 completely different individuals, with 2 completely different backgrounds, from 2 totally distinct eras. And yet, the media is/was hell bent on destroying both....there’s a message there.
Romney v. Obama cries out for a charismatic indie candidate who can energize the Tea Party/townhall/FReeper community. Gosh. Who could that be?
(I’m tellin’ you, I’m not a third party guy, but I am the “threat” of a third party guy — to let the Repukes know what’s what.)
It may be that There are several tricks that both progressive parties (RINO and Democrat) use to make sure their candidate has a nearly insurmountable edge. The tricks get more numerous and more refined every year. Been going on since the beginning of the 20th century, so more than a 100 years now. Time for the death of the progressive parties....R & D! just don't want to see the death of one of them, leaving the other intact! Both need a serious case of RICO lawsuits (yep, I'm calling for another lawyer welfare plan), but then since most lawyers and judges are 'rats, that would just leave them in charge, like they are now! If voters are educated, we might be able to sort it out, but if the NEA continues its 'education' program, we'll continue to be a one party country!
Easy, just have any independent that wants to vote in a primary ‘declare’ for that year. And show up at that poll both in the primary and in November. at least they’d only be able to vote once and have to suffer thru the same junk mail as the rest of us...oh, never mind that’s kind of the way it is now. So yep, most of us agree that (I) should have a subscript, (R or D) which is the primary that you must always show up for ( so at least we know who is causing the problem).
Yet another good reason why we have to get a whole lot of true conservatives elected in 2010. Romney cannot be the GOP front runner. He had his chance to become our pick in 2012, and he lost then, and he will lose now. His candidacy in 2010 would further split our party. RINOS would follow him off the cliff, and too many of us would support a third party candidate instead, which would further guarantee a Republican loss in the 2012 elections. This is not what we need. Nothing less than the future of our country is at stake now, and we best let the GOP know in HUGE numbers and loud voices that Romney is not the people’s choice.
JPN.
Romney as VP is one thing Palin could do that would cause her to go down in flames.
I. Will. Not. Vote. For. Romney.
Period.
Good post.
They are out to divide the republican vote.....
How do we stop that???
According this this thread, there is no way to stop it. They have more power than any website. Prepare to lose.
But weak-minded conservatives bought the relentless BS attacks on her in the media.

Why label someone with an opinion weak minded because they don’t agree with you ? That’s so dem.
I like Sarah but America will not vote for her this election. She has plenty of time to continue to grow yet her followers, in haste with poor judgement, want to throw her to the wolves. Let her continue to grow and as she does the attacks will lessen and the attackers will move on to new targets.
America will vote “safe” the next election and, at this period in time, she’s not considered safe by a large margin or voters.
OK let’s see what NEXT year’s “CPAC” looks like. Maybe 50 or so “Old Guarders” in a room. Bye Bye “CPAC”!
I would think most Mormans then will follow Romney right into the voting booths!

Despite the occasional LDSer on here who posts against Romney, the percentage he won in Utah in the primary speaks volumes. For the most part, the LDS will vote for a liberal LDSer over a conservative “gentile” (what they call all non-mormons including Jews) just because they are LDS.
So I can see the Mormon vote going to Romney in a big way.
Short answer...I set out to prove the ‘anti mormons’ wrong and that they were lying about the LDS church. What I found out is that the LDS church was the one that was lying to me and changing their history/doctrines. I basically researched my way out of the Mormon church. I became ‘inactive’ but didn’t really leave right then.
A few months later I moved home and caught up with an old friend from HS who asked me out and took me to church for our first date. ;)
I got involved in a youth ministry at that church (they desperately needed help), AWANA, and that was where God reached me and I gave my life to Christ.
The guy who took me to church for our first date is now my husband of over 14 years and fellow freeper.
At some point I really need to put my testimony on my profile page here.
If the GOP picks the backstabber, and poor sport, Mitt RomneyCARE
after his attacks on Gov. Palin (through Team Romney) to throw the Election
to Obama, then the GOP simply does not deserve to survive.
Well said.
What a wonderful testimony...and then to meet your husband too! Yes, do take the time and put it on your page...and let me know, even if it’s some time from now... life does get in the way of our best intentions..ha!
I think the author of, “A CASE for Christ” set out to disprove Christ and the things of God and frankly found the truths and evidence he hardly expected. So you have been in good company in that respect.
