And so it begins:

South Carolina mulls 2012: Romney? Palin? Huck?

Romney now biggest threat to Obama head to head

These are just a few examples from the last two days.
You'll also notice the (once again) packed straw poll at CPAC, and a sudden surge in Freepers attacking Sarah Palin at every turn.
It seems the push is already at full force. Mitt Romney is the guy to beat, like it or not (remember that McCain enjoyed -5% support at FR during the campaign), and the GOP is circling the wagons early this time.
Add to that several weekend columns out-of-nowhere attacking Sarah Palin again (George Will, Dorothy Rabinowitz, Kathleen Parker, et al).
let there be no doubt, the organized effort is afoot.
Well that’s more than good news that you came away from Mormanism...my time with them was pretty short...in home Bible study proved they were in error...especially since I wouldn’t use their book of Morman and I felt they should be able to make their case with a standard and acceptable translation of the scriptures. Needless saying without the Book of Morman they could not.
What brought you to the place where you determined you wanted to leave Mormanism? If you don’t mind I ask. I love hearing peoples stories when the Lord retrieves those who will one day bare His name....sounds like He came to get you too at some point in time...
Well this is quite interesting indeed...I need to learn more of this especially in light of Romneys run...WOW!
Thank you so very much for sharing this...very very interesting. Your whole post is in fact. I would think most Mormans then will follow Romney right into the voting booths!
Our nation is so very ripe for deception these days...they will follow anyone who makes them feel good or give a false sense of hope. We saw this with BO...and even Palin has that for those who are looking for an idol. I’m looking for a candidate...two different things.
Romney? Sarah? Yuck, I don’t want either. Piss on both of them for all I care.
I’m disappointed with her because she had a year to work on her presentation and become presidential timber and she failed miserably.
I don’t want her or Romney as my candidate in 2012.
Agree on Demint.. My chips are nowhere near Sarah after her mediocre performance at the Tea Party Convention.
Sarah’s doing a pretty good job of taking herself down. I was rooting for her to succeed at the Tea Party Convention.. She didn’t.
Woa! That’s some additude there...sounds like you are really Pi**ed.. Maybe give things a little more time..it’s still early yet and the players are just lining up..
I’m heating up to Haley Barbour.. I laugh at some of the people on here writing him off in one of the other threads about him potentially throwing his hat into the ring. He’s been an outstanding governor and leader in Missisippi and would make a very good conservative president.
In another campaign year likely to be dominated by healthcare, he has been a champion of tort reform in his state. Mississippi has some of the toughest tort reform laws in the country because of Barbour.
He took over a $700m deficit when he entered office in 2004, had a surplus by 2006 without raising taxes.
His handling Katrina was heralded as marvelous by the coast cities. (unlike Moron Mary next door).. Some compared his leadership of that crisis to Giuliani’s during 9/11.
He’s far more qualified and capable of being president than Romney, Palin, or Huckster.
“E.J Dionne of the WaPO said that”
You’re basing your whole analysis on that.
Next.
I don't know if Noonan is or ever was a registered Republican, if she is I'm fairly confident she hasn't been 'purged'. You see, taildragger, there is a considerable difference between posting 'I hate Peggy Noonan' on an Internet site and her Party membership being revoked.
As for Coulter, (who said she was voting "Cheney" in the CPAC straw poll), she is not endorsing Romney for President, she is merely relating that the odds right now are in his favor; that he is the early frontrunner.
Coulter is reporting a fact. If one doesn't care for this particular fact one can work to change it, or carry on like a silly teenager and attack the messenger.
Aside: Race for the 2012 nomination will get very interesting if Pence, DeMint, or both, enter in. Either would present a new dynamic to Palin's decision to run or not to run.
If a primary ballot features Palin and one or both of the aforementioned men Palin might be in for a reality check.
You’re a Ron Paul fringer who supports Paulist wack job Medina, nobody cares what you think.
I can't wait until the next fund raising letter from the RNC arrives. They will get monopoly money from me with a note that reads, "You will never get the real stuff or my vote again unless a true conservative (such as Palin) gets the nomination. Me and millions of others will stay home if RINO is nominated. No more holding my nose while voting!"
You lie thru your keyboard keys. For one, you've stated numerous times that Palin is 'not pro-life'.
Thanks for putting it in perspective. Yes, I was acting like a teenager. On Noonan, at least she has been purged here if you will. She has been persona non grata for a while, i.e. her swearing with a live mic on MSLSD about Palin. Yes Palin may be in for a reality check, Pence might sell to the new center, I am not sure about DeMint. I like what Mitch Daniels has to say, but I have had freepers email me privately that he is more of a RINO than he lets on.
We still wonder with our lantern looking for one good man or women.

I voted third party instead of voting for Dole. Like the old axiom states “if you don’t vote don’t b!tch”
I always vote - I’ll write my name in - Romney and the Huckster are out as far as I’m concerned. And as someone once told me here on FR - taking a stand like this will just make me a Loser but I will be happy with myself.
A vote is like a rifle; its usefulness depends upon the character of the user. - Theodore Roosevelt
Never surrender your right and responsibility to vote. You can always write in Palin’s name.
That said, it’s too early in the game to presume the GOP will run Romney. But if it does it will demonstrate one more time that the GOP has been coopted by the Demrat Party.
