NPR reporter pressured over Fox role (Mara Liasson)

Executives at National Public Radio recently asked the network’s top political correspondent, Mara Liasson, to reconsider her regular appearances on Fox News because of what they perceived as the network’s political bias, two sources familiar with the effort said.

According to a source, Liasson was summoned in early October by NPR’s executive editor for news, Dick Meyer, and the network’s supervising senior Washington editor, Ron Elving. The NPR executives said they had concerns that Fox’s programming had grown more partisan, and they asked Liasson to spend 30 days watching the network.

At a follow-up meeting last month, Liasson reported that she’d seen no significant change in Fox’s programming and planned to continue appearing on the network, the source said.

I wouldn’t mind seeing Fox dump that oozing dogs penis ellis henican though, he is absent a single redeeming quality.

I was watching O'Reilly once when he had Dennis Miller on. This followed a segment in which BOR had talked to Hennican. During the Miller segment, O'Reilly and Miller were discussing a ridiculous non-story about a zoo with a "gay" penguin. Miller said "who cares about a story about gay Hennicans!?"

Freudian slip, maybe?

Have they ever watched MSNBC? NPR executives are the ones with a bias.

NPR (National Propagandist Radio) plays the “biased” card on FOX? LOL! Mara is one of the very few liberal/progressive/socialist people in the media that I can tolerate. Pat Caddell is about the only other one that readily comes to mind.

And they assert that NPR is NOT political?

No kidding.

National Democrat Radio wants everyone to believe that THEY are the fair and balanced source of information.

Not that pesky "Fox News" organization.

NPR is showing it's bias here.
Why is NPR publicly funded, anyway? Can't the far left pay for it's own infomercials?

"Mara LIES and Brit used to call her on it all the time and she would just say.... 'Of course' and move on!"

Good call.

I remember that happening quite often!

I like Brett Baier, but he doesn't confront the democrats about their lies like Brit Hume does.

Fox is biased to the right.

NPR is biased to the left.

The difference is that Fox doesn't receive taxpayer dollars to promote their right wing view of the news.

We conservatives are forced to PAY for NPR to promote their left wing view of the news.

This censorship scenario should not be taken lightly. NPR uses OUR money to promote a political ideology antithetical to the Constitution, the Bill of Rights, and the Rule of Law. Congress should de-fund it immediately.

However, Congress won't. The majority, who are corrupt and gutless legislators, should be driven out of the sacred halls.....Demonrats and Repugnicans alike.

If, indeed, Fox Cable was the "arm of the Republican Party" which it isn't, it would at least be funded by private sector advertising dollars. Totally unlike the funding for NPR which is stolen, extorted and confiscated by the leftists, radicals and communists in control of our government today.

Here's the thing....

My wife, God love her, is a lefty through and through (not that I have a problem with that!).

Whenever we talk politics (which nowadays isn't very often), she maintains with a thoroughly straight face, “I'm in the middle!”, in an attempt to capture that part of the “high ground”.

I ignore this bit of verbal legerdemain and press forward, and inevitably the discussion, such as it is, ends right where it began. (But at least we've gotten it out of our system.)

I've been tempted in the past, but never employed (I love my wife!) the tactic of, “OK, I know you can apply this to the Right, but if you're in the “middle”, tell me of 3 people you think that populate the Left might be dangerous to the Republic. Hell, name me one, and you'll win the argument!”

The point I'm trying to make here is that the Left, through whatever mental defense mechanism they're using to justify this, really believes they constitute the “middle”, even though in reality they are no where near it. For them, there is no “danger” to be perceived by anyone who is on the Left. To them, incredibly, the New Fascists are the Good Guys!

It is my fervent hope that, several years from now, when the Thought Police come to take me away during a 3:00 AM knock on the door session, that she will begin to see the light.

(Actually, should that knock on the door come, that is where I'd take my final stand in this life, and throw everything I have at the stormtroopers who seek to invade my castle. There are some things worth fighting and dying for, and that would be one of them.)

CA....

Mara must stay on Fox!

One of my greatest pleasures is watching Krauthammer aim both barrels at her while barely concealing his contempt.

I love the stunned look she gets when he pulls the trigger.

No suprise.
As NPR doesn't have a political bias (/SARC)

I always figured that Liasson and Juan Williams probably caught
hell from their NPR colleauges for "sleeping with the enemy" at
Fox News.

And probably also because they are picking up a nice bit of change
that their NPR colleagues will never see.

(Sidebar: over the years, one NPR reporter has struck me as
"fair and balanced": Daniel Zwerdling. But then it could just
be that he appears that way in contrast to the real nutjobs on
NPR's broadcast staff.)

So the NPR execs solution to the bias on Fox is to pull off the libs? No wonder they need public funding to survive.

That is OUR fault. When WE had control of both houses and the presidency, we did not end that travesty. Mea culpa, mea maxima culpa! I did not demand it from my legislators.
