President Barack Obama ... ... is slated to deliver a prime-time address on Tuesday night in which he'll lay out his plans for the American war in Afghanistan.
The address before the United States Military Academy at West Point on Tuesday night will not only be used to announce the immediate order to deploy roughly 30,000 more troops, but the administration will also use the occasion to convey how it intends to turn the fight over to the Kabul government, the New York Times reported.
But the administration may also face an unforeseen enemy as it lays out its long-awaited plans. And they are loud and they are legion: We're talking about preschoolers and their parents.
That's because ABC-TV was scheduled to present its annual screening of "A Charlie Brown Christmas" at 8 p.m. tomorrow night. And we don't know about you, but that show is pretty sacrosanct around our house and not to be trifled with lightly.
A call to the White House may be in order here. We hear it's pretty easy to get through these days ...

Which is why the commercial for it said December 8, when I thought it was on the 1. So, I am not going senile. But, my daughter just said about this, “Is he giving another speech? Doesn’t he do enough of those? President Bush didn’t do all this.”
I think that BO channel is a good idea too BTW.
I don’t know why the alphabet networks don’t just be done with it and have an Obama hour every week. The Barack Obama Variety Show.... with special guest Marxists and other deluded leftists every week. Fortunately I work in the evening and I rarely watch the alphabets when I am home evenings.
Obama, like most other communists, hasn't a religious bone in his body. Commies despise religion. His Black Liberation Theology "church" advocates communist revolution. See my FR Home page for more info about it.
Ironic that Schulz threw his faith away and became a secular humanist, but Linus telling people the true meaning of Christmas will reach far more people than anything he said about humanism.
But then his far left sissy loony antiwar base would not get the message and they would be sobbing their eyes out...boohoo, boohoo...whimper, whimper...
That's why he had to talk at the same time as the Charlie Brown special. Because, I know whenever he gives a speech, that's the sound I hear.
It’s not vitriol, he just doesn’t like the strip. Big deal.
LOL!! I didn’t click on the link until just now. Thanks for the bad language warning!
He has seen his poll numbers sinking like a rock and wants to make some more promises of free bubble-up and rainbow stew.
I won't watch....I can't stand the halting, dictatorial sound of his voice, let alone what his teleprompter tells him to say.
I liked when Fox decided not to run a prime time press conf by Obama and stuck with their original programming...
The title of THAT show? “Lie To Me”
He’s the trombone teacher, his wife is Lucy Van Pelt and his Press Secretary is Peter Griffin.
I didn’t care about it as a kid that much, but I like it now for the nostalgia factor :)
I regret to admit that I found that funny as hell.
That’s okay... I feel the same way about “Dora the Explorer”. But that’s probably because I’m a xenophobic racist.
I can see how the overall concept of the Charlie Brown cartoons can be grating. The whole idea of everybody relentlessly abusing Charlie (including his disloyal dog) for kicks is way overdone sometimes... often to the point of being uncomfortable.
But “A Charlie Brown Christmas” is different. As far as Christmas specials go, it’s perfection for me. Linus’ speech on the meaning of Christmas still gets me every time.
I have a whole big Christmas collection of dvds that I watch in case my favorites aren’t on such as WHITE CHRISTMAS, MIRACLE ON 34TH STREET, IT’S A WONDERFUL LIFE, A CHARLIE BROWN CHRISTMAS, MR MAGOO’S CHRISTMAS CAROL, DR. SEUSS’S THE GRINCH WHO STOLE CHRISTMAS, A CHRISTMAS CAROL WITH ALISTAIR SIM AS SCROOGE, AND A NATIONAL LAMPOON’S CHRISTMAS...
