Twelve people have been killed and 31 wounded in a shooting spree at a Texas military base by what officials believe was possibly carried out by an Army officer.
The suspected gunman was identified by ABC News as Major Malik Nadal Hasan.
The shooter was killed and two other suspects, who are also soldiers, have been apprehended, Lt. Gen. Robert W. Cone said.
The gunman used two handguns, Cone said. He wasn't sure if the shooter reloaded the weapons during the attack.
Today is the anniversary of the Iranian takeover of the US Embassy in Tehran, 30 years ago.

The suspected gunman in the Fort Hood shooting has been identified as Major Malik Nadal Hasan. He was killed and two other suspects have been apprehended, according to Army Spokesman Lt. Robert W. Cone.
There are unconfirmed reports that Major Hasan was a convert to Islam and originally from Virginia. He was reportedly scheduled to deploy to either Iraq or Afghanistan and was unhappy about it.
Fort Hood still on lockdown...I am glad they are being cautious..Lots of anxious parents cannot get their kids at the elementary schools on base.

Fanatic Islamic evil is upon us with Barry's blessing according to Allah! I knew Tuesday's election results blended with the summer of discontent, Would result in some form of retribution.

Perry hopped on the TV because he got the heads up that Kay Bailey Hutchinson had already gotten herself on Fox w/Shep and was getting a lot of face time. Perry couldn’t let that happen without getting his face out there too (the two of them being rivals for the TX governorship. This is all about politics.
Mom lives down in the Killeen area. Said local news reported earlier of something happening in the base housing area - Comanche 3 or 4 — whatever that means. Tons of police cars and shots being fired. Did one of the suspects move into the housing area after the initial shots were fired? Don’t know.
When any military officer states their unwillingness to be reassigned, they should be given a dishonorable discharge. Certainly they should not be retained in the service if there is any doubt that they would be a danger to other officers or enlisted men.
