Breaking: Palin Supports Hoffman
The Weekly Standard ^ | October 22, 2009 08:17 PM | John McCormack

Posted on 10/22/2009 5:47:30 PM PDT by avg_freeper

THE WEEKLY STANDARD just received a statement from Sarah Palin endorsing conservative Doug Hoffman for Congress:

The people of the 23rd Congressional District of New York are ready to shake things up, and Doug Hoffman is coming on strong as Election Day approaches! He needs our help now.

The votes of every member of Congress affect every American, so it's important for all of us to pay attention to this important Congressional campaign in upstate New York. I am very pleased to announce my support for Doug Hoffman in his fight to be the next Representative from New York's 23rd Congressional district. It's my honor to endorse Doug and to do what I can to help him win, including having my political action committee, SarahPAC, donate to his campaign the maximum contribution allowed by law.

Our nation is at a crossroads, and this is once again a "time for choosing."

The federal government borrows, spends, and prints too much money, while our national debt hits a record high. Government is growing while the private sector is shrinking, and unemployment is on the rise. Doug Hoffman is committed to ending the reckless spending in Washington, D.C. and the massive increase in the size and scope of the federal government. He is also fully committed to supporting our men and women in uniform as they seek to honorably complete their missions overseas.

And best of all, Doug Hoffman has not been anointed by any political machine.

Doug Hoffman stands for the principles that all Republicans should share: smaller government, lower taxes, strong national defense, and a commitment to individual liberty.

Political parties must stand for something. When Republicans were in the wilderness in the late 1970s, Ronald Reagan knew that the doctrine of "blurring the lines" between parties was not an appropriate way to win elections. Unfortunately, the Republican Party today has decided to choose a candidate that more than blurs the lines, and there is no real difference between the Democrat and the Republican in this race. This is why Doug Hoffman is running on the Conservative Party's ticket.

Republicans and conservatives around the country are sending an important message to the Republican establishment in their outstanding grassroots support for Doug Hoffman: no more politics as usual.

You can help Doug by visiting his official website below and joining me in supporting his campaign:

This statement will be on Palin's Facebook page soon.

I don’t know if there’s an arena big enough for the crowds Duncan would draw. MSG is a long way away and the TU Arena in Albany is probably too small.

If the spineless Republican castrati want to play this game, I'll help them go the way of the Whigs.

The country clubbers only care about their "elite" status and protected money, hobnobbing with their Rat "bipartisan" peers, while the Constitution is trashed and America invaded.

Bad news RINOs, when you've helped the Rats install enough Marxism, YOU won't be protected anymore as you will be useless, but your WEALTH won't be useless, and it won't be yours, anymore.

The Marxists ALWAYS double cross the suckers.

I posted on her FaceBook page about this this morning. Several people were kind enough to endorse my suggestion. I hope I had something positive to do with her making this decision. I think it an excellent one.

If Buckley were alive, he would be standing with Newt the nut, supporting Scuzza-Flabba.

Doubtful. I would think that Buckley would see parallels between the establishment Republican + Liberal Party campaigns for people like Lindsay & Javits and today's shared embrace of Scozzafava by the far left as well as the GOP establishment. Unless Buckley later shed any affinity or appreciation for that party's role in his state's politics (I'm not aware of any such disavowal), I sincerely doubt he'd stand with Gingrich concerning Hoffman. But then again, it's all hypothetical.

Leisler: Rockefeller was one reason. New York state's cross-party fusion campaigns and frustration with the liberal state GOP establishment were the larger impetus. But I'm not a New Yorker and last studied the NY Conservative Party about a decade ago... any native NYers' input, insight, and corrections would be appreciated.

I just donated to Doug's campaign online. Time to take a stand against RINOs.

I did a couple of days ago. I look forward to seeing this preview of 2010. The GOP had better pay attention and pull it's head out now if it wants to survive.

now, excuse me while I go and fill out that stupid Republican questionnaire that asks what I think about illegal immigration, Obama's health care plan, etc. All of that the Old Party would have already known but that was way back when I would send them money too.

Perot wasn’t a conservative, you twit. He was a populist. But judging from your demeanor on the forums, I imagine you were either VERY young or weren’t born yet when he ran, so you probably don’t know anything about that.

Come back to us when you’re older and have more sense. Or, if by some miracle, you are an adult, when you’ve sobered up enough to act like one.

This kind of self seeking behaviour by Palin only gets Democrats elected.”

Naaaah.
Appointing ACORN backing scum like Dede Scozzafava to represent the Republican Party in any elections, gets Democrats elected.

Sad, this is not going to advance conservative agenda in any form”

On the contrary. This is exactly the kind of action that will advance the conservative agenda. The only people that are sad, are anti-conservatives.
Hey, you sure you are on the right site? I think you lost your way.

Don’t do it before a primary. Vote conservative GOP then, then feel free to choose the best of whomever is left.

Yes, he is a third-party candidate but one with the support of Fred Thompson, Sarah Palin, Michele Bachmann, and Club For Growth. And his Republican opponent is arguably more liberal than the Democrat in the race. These anomalies make this contest very interesting and in my opinion a true test of right vs. wrong.

Is that another campaign slogan to convince Conservatives to remain with the OP(formerly the GOP)?

I am paying attention and I am not a loser like you who thinks getting Dems elected is something to cheer for”

Tut, tut.
Nasty aren't we?
If backing DoughHoffman makes someone a “loser”, what does that make you, a guy that is backing a hard line left wing candidate, and ACORN supporter like Scozzafava?

The memory of Perot is still fresh in my mind.”

Now why don't you just quit while you are still half coherent eh?
When did Perot become a conservative?
Was Perot running against someone who backs ACORN?
