“Reform” Means You Pay More for Health Care [Here are the numbers]

A major new report confirms the worst fears of many: Health care reform will raise the costs for most Americans—by about 18% on average. That is on top of existing inflation of health coverage.

Once the plan is fully phased-in (by 2019), a typical family of four would pay an extra $4,000 each year.

When combined with existing inflation, costs would rise from today’s $12,300 annual average to $25,900. Of that 111% increase, $9,600 is due to existing factors uncorrected by the legislation, and $4,000 due to additional costs created by the legislation.

For single persons, the differential is projected at $1,500 a year. Premiums would rise from today’s $4,600 a year to $9,600 overall.

Prepared by Price Waterhouse Coopers (PWC), the new analysis was requested by AHIP—America’s Health Insurance Plans. It focuses on the leading plan pending in Congress, sponsored by Sen. Max Baucus (D, MT), which is scheduled for a Senate Finance Committee vote on Tuesday.

Two items —

(1) “a typical family of four would pay an extra $4,000 each year. “ BS. Only a TAX-PAYING family will pay. EIC will become EHCC (earned health care credit)

(2) since we are going to provide MORE health care, LESS efficiently (cuz the gummint is involved) then of course all real costs will increase. Period.

(3) lied to again. [ OK three items]

But the excuse for doing the health care is that everybody pays about $1100 for those uninsured and this is supposed to fix it. Huh? Of course, if I pay more it will fix it, just why do I need the government controlling it?

I know, I know, logice does not work in Washington.

Well sure. That’s why it has to be reformed. You’re not paying enough for it. Duh.

Go to downtown Atlanta. Show me a majority of ‘families of four’ that pays taxes. Grumble.

A TRADITIONAL family of 4 pays taxes. It ain’t like that anymore “on average” aka typically.

FYI —

according to The Tax Foundation 31% or 42.5 million working Americans in 2004 were not even required to file or pay income tax. That percentage is up from 17.9% just twenty years before in 1984, increasing the burden on those are required to pay. http://www.taxfoundation.org

How many of those are “families of 4” ?

There is ZERO ‘health care’ reform without tort reform.

My HSA current: 230.00 monthly premium
5,000 annual deductible
100% coverage major medical
$2760 annual premium payment

Me under government plans:

Baucus Bill:
$7,114 annual premium
-$2074 subsidy
$5040 my out-of-pocket

House Ways and Means:
$5,460 annual premium
-$942 subisdy
$4518 my out-of-pocket

House Energy and Commerce:
$5460 annual premium
-522 subsidy
$4938 my out-of-pocket

HELP Committee:
$6084 annual premium
-1069 subsidy
$5015 my out-of-pocket

"Health care reform" is a scam.

Then this will serve to get everyone over that threshold (was it $8,000/yr for singles?) of having “luxury plans” that are subject to even greater taxes. So we will have more taxes on top of the higher premiums. It will be a self-compounding event. Soon our health care will deteriorate to an unacceptable level, and cost 50% of our incomes.
