Sarah Palins publisher plans to announce Tuesday that the title of her eagerly awaited memoir will be Going Rogue: An American Life.
Publication is being moved up from spring to Nov. 17 in order to catch the holiday book-buying season. The former Alaska governor has been in huge demand as a speaker, and continues to harvest a bounty of media attention.
A mammoth first printing of 1.5 million copies has been ordered the same first run as True Compass, the memoir of the late Sen. Edward M. Kennedy.
Palin had a deadline of Sept. 15 for her manuscript and turned it in a bit early. Copy-editing and fact-checking are now underway in a race to meet the crash publishing schedule, which has been accelerated four or five months because of the huge anticipated demand.
After Palin left office on July 26, she went with her husband, Todd, and her children to San Diego, the home of her collaborator, Lynn Vincent, and worked on the book for several weeks.
Later, Palin spent several days in New York, going over the final edits.
Palin mischievously embraced the phrase going rogue at the end of her troubled campaign for vice president on the ticket headed by Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.).
The phrase has its roots in an Oct. 20 story by Slate's John Dickerson, with the lead: "Has Sarah Palin "gone rogue"?"
LOL!!:D
Let’s see if this makes the NY Times Best Sellers list (without any reviews by the lamestreams)... You Betcha!
I’ll pay for Palin’s book, but you couldn’t give me Kennedy’s autobiography.
Love Sarah. . .but worry what ‘going rogue’ mightt mean. . .a popular ‘third Party candidate? If so; think Obama will be the winner. Hope not; but am feeling some fear here. . .
He does this on quite a few Palin threads; it’s all he knows to do.
Save a copy for me. This is going to be interesting.
Sheesh, they better start arranging for the soft cover version and print about 15 million copies with another 15 million after Christmas. This book is going to sell OUT.
Uhh...No.
I wish it’s in audio with her reading it...
Palin's title: 'Going Rogue' (wow - 1.5M 1st printing)

Isn’t “Going Rogue” a tweak of the McCain campaign? Since they used that term when she went off the scipt and started nailed Obama about his ties with Ayers and other crazy lefties.
A mammoth first printing of 1.5 million copies has been ordered -- the same first run as "True Compass," the memoir of the late Sen. Edward M. Kennedy. All of Fatso's friends in the publishing business will try to make sure the unsold 1.2 million (my estimate) copies of "True Compass" don't wind up on the remainder tables.
And now she flaunts it... GOOD ON SARAH though Meghan McCain will probably have some catty things to say.
Still say she should write a second book....A picture book for libs.
Beautiful pictures of energy production locations in Alaska.
Give her a chance to talk about energy for America, an area she’s an expert, how it can boost the economy etc etc etc.
No, I haven't. Maybe I am distracted by the MSM and pseudo republicans (non campaign people)slamming her every time they get a chance. But I haven't noticed McCain's people doing it.
That's correct. She's engaging in political jiu jitsu - turning her attackers' attack tactic back on them.
The sad thing is that most of these self-proclaimed conservative Freepers who are claiming to be so "concerned", "troubled" or "worried" about the use of the word "rogue" know this. They're simply engaging in disingenuous sophistry.
No, going rogue from the American political community, and romantically rogue in the ways most Americans live their lives. Anybody who has made their life in Alaska has gone rogue, in a way, and for sure commercial fishing is a "going rogue" career compared to most other jobs. Its successful practicioners are hardy, thoughtful, careful, independent-minded self-dependent types to the Nth degree who pretty much deal with life on their own terms, not convention's terms. I know that first-hand from decades of experience.
I imagine many of those characteristics are found in many Alaskans, as they're also in a whole lot of Americans to one degree or the other, and especially in our newer immigrants from other nations who love and will defend American freedom because they've lived elsewhere where there was little or none -- they also are "rogue," and valuable for it. America is at heart rogue in the world.
Palin's sort of the epitome of "going rogue," which is what our Founders and pioneers did in the process of making this greatest nation of all nations in written history.
I read it was taken from a comment by a Slate reporter,
remarking .. has Palin gone rogue ?
LOL ..
