Charlotte homeowner tracks down, kills, youth suspected in home invasion and burglaryIn CT, if the threat leaves your property & you give chase, YOU now become the threat in the eyes of CT law. Regardless of what the perp did while on your property.

The old guy should be given a medal. Instead the liberals will try and put him in prison.
Shameful.

That’s the kind of story that must warms my cold, black heart. If the police won’t find the criminal, let the victim of the crime find and dispense justice - permanently.
Wonder if he’s got any leads on the other perps?

Why IMO we need an OPEN SEASON DOCTRINE offering greater latitude to poeple who are held at gunpoint.

“McClure was bound with duct tape and his wife held at gunpoint.”
If this is ruled a homicide, I would have done the same thing.
To: Hodar
Indeed. Give that man a medal.

Marcus was a good kid. He didn’t deserve to be hunted down. He made a dumb mistake and now he paid wit his life. If Marcus was white this wouldn’t have happened. This was a hate crime.
Just some of the excuses that will be used.

No matter what else happens in this case, there’s at least one “yute” who won’t be participating in any more home invasions.

The man was in hot pursuit, the police were not there yet, he had an opportunity to apprehend the culprit and recover his goods, he had no way of knowing that this particular one of the robbers who had just forcibly held him and his wife captive had or did not have a gun . . . the bad guy turned toward him—bang, bang, end of story. Give the man a medal and go after the other robbers.

If this is ruled a homicide, I would have done the same thing. My thoughts exactly.
You invaded my home, you bound my wife and me with duct tape, you threatened my life and you stole possessions we hold dear. What makes you think you can simply leave and not pay any consequences? You had better kill me now, because now a simple burglary has become lethally personal.

held at gunpoint. A salient point. Thus the guy could only think it likely the robber who turned toward him could very well have a gun.

At 76 I am sure that he dosn’t give a shit about going to prison. He will smile every day for the rest of his (health taken care of) live. He wins both angles, revenge and lifetime free health care. Visits from the wife and family every day. Free diapers if he is incontinent. Gota love it. I would do the same.

With four participants to consider (three of which may return with backup), what choice did he have, other than a show of force?
