While visiting wounded service men and women, Nicks became determined to find an object she could leave with each soldier that would raise their spirits, motivate, and give them something to look forward to each day. She eventually decided to purchase hundreds of iPod Nanos, load them with music, artists, and play-lists which she would hand select, and autograph them. She now regularly delivers these tokens of her appreciation, bringing her closest friends to share the experience.
In 2006, Nicks held a get-together to raise money for her charity work. Many of her peers made contributions. Nicks continues to develop this philanthropic endeavor.[48]

As far as I’m concerned, Fleetwood Mac began when Christine McVie came on board. I like Stevie and Lindsey just fine but I do wish some of Christine’s early solos got some play.

I don’t see a single Bible verse on this thread. Nor do I see anyone asking about her position on abortion. I only see two posts that could be construed as anything but strong support for Nicks, in spite of her politics (which aren’t as left as most would assume).
Perhaps these intolerant “purists” aren’t as rampant around here as you think. Maybe you just think all Christians act that way and feel the need to reinforce that stereotype as often as possible.
I don’t know a thing about her politics, but I’ll bet anything she will probably come down more libertarian than she even knows.
But all the politics aside, she’s giving back to those who sacrifice all on the “altar of freedom”, and she recognizes that there is something out there larger than herself to be cherished. Politics does not even come into play where that is concerned.
Thus the reason we don't see the "purists" attempting to beat up on her. Also, pointing out the modus operandi early in the thread helps keep out the troublemakers.
