I'm worried...

Posted on 08/11/2009 7:16:26 AM PDT by fr33dom4US

Hi everyone

I’m new here at FreeRepublic, but I need help from people I trust. I trust the people here, who understand that no government bureaucrat should decide who gets health care… my father has a serious health condition and as hes getting older I worry… and I don’t want to worry that OBOMBO’s death panel will decide whther he should live or die. ONLY GOD MAKES THAT CHOICE, but I understand that you all know this. America is the greatest country in the world because we are a free democracy where we choose and we have the life we work for, and not because the government can decide who is ‘more usefull to soceity’. Onto my problem…

Yesterday I was protesting with a friend outside of our city hall (not a town hall meeting, just making our DEMOCRATIC VOICES HEARD), when some people representing ACORN came up to us. We were out in public and it was daytime so we engaged with them and explained that we were against the government taking over our FREEDOM TO CHOOSE, and they asked us where we heard what we were saying about OBOMBO’s DEATH PLAN… they used the word ‘misinformation’. We didn’t mention freerepublic (who knows what these people would do if they knew where we were dicussing this… we’d be filled with lieberals shouting us down and threatening us just like they have been doing in public…)

This morning, I was supposed to meet with my friend to get breakfast before handing out some pamplets about the governments plans… he’s not at home… I know my friend, he’s a god-fearing conservative just like me, so I know he didn’t just disappear… but his phone says ‘out of service’ and his mom hasn’t seen him since yesterday afternoon….

Could this be related? I love this country, and I trust that GOD is still watching over those of us who follow his LAW in the Constitution, but what I’ve been reading here at FreeRepublic about this government and the Nazis in germany… this is how it started, isn’t it? People disappearing after their opinions get out? Elimination of FREE SPEECh and DISSENT…. I need to keep looking for him, but please put my mind at ease FreeRepublic… they wouldn’t do this, right?

This couldn’t happen here, right?

We get this mandated, taxpayer-provided, government heads up the decision-making system, the ability to obtain medical services will be eliminated, we will NOT be able to contract with a physician to provide whatever is necessary, by law. This is the point so many are trying to make to these nitwit pols, it is not imaginary, no one is making anything up -- it's coming, if we follow down this road.

As there is no actual bill to discuss, it's not entirely clear what's proposed.

But if you are talking about the "health exchange" requirement, there is no limitation on the ability to practice fee-for-service medicine (I charge you $100 per visit), what might be regulated is offering an insurance policy (for ten thousand dollars a year I'll provide as much care as you want) - all insurance would have to be offered through the insurance exchange, and would have to meet certain criteria, for example you could not decline to insure a policy based on a pre-existing condition.

There are likely some gray arera in the middle, but it's clear that the intent of the exchange proposal is to govern the issuance of insurance, not to ban the practice of fee-for-service medicine.

Personally, if I have to die from lack of medical care, I'd rather go out with the dignity of not being able to afford it, than suffering the inhumanity of having government regulations determine that my life isn't worth saving.

And assuming that you can't pay for it, but you had insurance, public or private that refused to pay for it, I'd prefer that decisions about such choices had to be:

1) Made accord to publically known rules.

2) That a decision could be speedily appealed if you believed it was wrong, and

3) That the identities and potential conflicts of interest of the people setting and applying the criteria was a matter of public record - no more of this situation where we have no way of knowing if some mid-level supervisor at the insurance company decided to deny your treatment because keeping costs down was going to get them a year-end bonus, and saving your $22,000 was just enough to make sure they could catch up on payemtns for the jet ski.

"...needs Freepucation badly."

Certainly agree there.

It is possible, perhaps probable, that someone indoctrinated in our public school system unknowingly speaks with language filled with leftist flags, yet has an understanding that what they have been fed isn't to be trusted and wants instruction from those who can be trusted.

But, the kitty looking over my shoulder is very skeptical.

The kitty is way beyond merely skeptical. Let's count the ways:

"I’m new here at FreeRepublic, but I need help from people I trust".

If you’re new, you’re an idiot (and not conservative) to trust people you don’t know.

"OBOMBO’s"

who the hell is that?

"death panel"

uh oh, that’s a term from DU

"ONLY GOD MAKES THAT CHOICE"

uh oh, all caps is a telltale sign

"DEMOCRATIC VOICES HEARD"

there you go again, all caps. And “democratic voices” rather than “conservative ideals”

"handing out some pamplets about the governments plans"

handing out pamphlets?! You can’t be serious?! Dead giveaway.

"his mom hasn’t seen him since yesterday afternoon…"

you and your imaginary friend live at home with mommy and no job?; you are so busted troll.

What is the language which prohibits fee-for-service payment?

IBTZ.... check the FEMA camps, they may have taken your friend their. ACORN is evil, maybe you can get there before they feed him into the shredder. Just search for FEMA camp locations and start searching. Call all of your friends, you need as much help as you can get. HURRY!!! Your time is running out.

Ok...I am giving you the benefit of the doubt that you are not a troll.

1) Contact his mom and other relatives and friends.

2) If you still can't find him, you and his mom should call the police to see if you can check out his apartment.

As for it can't happen here? Of course it can. We are all human in this nation and humans are capable of a lot, both good and bad.

By the way, the word, God, is spelled with a capital “G”. I will excuse you if you have attended government schools. Your Marxist teachers were not likely to teach that in our atheistic and Marxist government indoctrination camps.

So have you ever seen a Mobius strip? Some posts are like that, well, not three-dimensional objects that really only have one surface, but you go along on the whole thing thinking it’s fairly straightforward but in fact it’s more like climbing a mountain to get to a guru on top who smiles at you as you lay there exhausted, panting, offers you a drink of water and says something like “So have you ever seen a Mobius strip? Some posts are like that...”

Didn’t see THAT line before. Dead give away. Almost everyone at FR would know that we are a republic and not a democracy.

I haven’t read the entire bill - you asserted that it had not been written yet so I gave you the link. I have looked up the first few entries on that list of issues that’s all over the internet and they do check out.
