In 1975 my 10 month old son needed his own passport..
all citizens are nationals but not all nationals are citizens (99%)
Interesting question, but not likely. The African Obama family is apparently muslim, and Stanley Ann was, at that time, atheistic. Not likely to find church marriage or baptismal records on this bunch, even if the church was old enough to keep them.
Has Obama - HIMSELF - ever said he was *BORN* in Hawaii, or has he just used his proxies to perpetuate this?
“No fruit is better than mangoes. I could live on them!”
I KNOW, I KNOW, I KNOW!!!! ME TOO!!!
I once said, and I hope I was joking, that I could kill for a mango.
But then, someone could pass a succulent ripe peach under my nose and that would be the end of the threat.
The peaches imported here are awful because they never fully ripen in spite of their yellow exterior.
I havent been to the U.S. in 5 years, but every time I would return to Panama I had ripe succulent peaches hiding all over the place. I would stuff my jacket with peaches in every pocket conceivable. I could hide at least half a dozen. I would than walk through customs with my jacket over my arm.
That would be impossible today because of drugs, and there is now more care than ever about checking everything.
“I put mangos in a blender with vodka - damn their good.”
Man!!! I bet it would be good with a good rum also...Cuban of course. (I am saying this just to make the feds mad. Here in Panama we get good Cuban rum.)
Grandfather of Obama had been catholic before conversion to Islam. He had been a chef for the missionaries. If she wanted a “legal marriage”. The church might have served as the closest JP.
We had the best peaches in Indiana this year...I bought three large baskets...Ate many fresh, but froze a nice supply for the winter.
Possible. And I wouldn’t put burning a church past this bunch.
Good morning, afraidfortherepublic.
How are you feeling today?
I thought of your not feeling so well all day yesterday. Are you feeling any better?
Yes, I’m somewhat better, except that I was up most of the night. So, I begged off work and sent the payroll in for somebody else to FAX to the payroll service. I’m taking the morning off and will try to get a nap.
Here (Wisconsin) we always look for the Michigan peaches to come in. It’s a very short season, however. But, they are wonderful when ou can get them. Should be here at the end of the month. They are much better than the CA or South American peaches. They have to pick them too green to withstand the shipping.
I think we need to take your excellent question a step farther:
What, exactly, do we KNOW, as opposed to what we theorize?
It would be very helpful if someone, perhaps through FReepmail, could compile a list of ONLY those things that are rock-solid facts. Perhaps there could be a second list of “likely, but as yet unproven” data.
Right now, we are peering through a cloud of facts mixed with theory, supposition, and misinformation.. It’s hard to think straight. We might gain perspective by looking at all of it anew.
WhiskeyX,
The illegal accessing of the passport files plus the fact that most people feel Indonesia would be unlikely to cooperate is what I meant when I asked the question “does this matter?”
I also was hoping that, if he was piggy-backed on mom’s passport, there might be some hope of finding her records. I don’t recall seeing anyone discuss her passport files.
Since it is common knowledge that he was in Indonesia and would have been required to take citizenship to be adopted, no one in a position to do so has challenged his eligibility because of it. Since he was a child and his U.S. citizenship was renounced by someone else on his behalf, he could still be a U.S. citizen (if he was born in the U.S. - not likely) again, but not a natural born one if I have interpreted the many posts on the subject correctly.
Which brings me to another question. My husband and I spent an hour last night having a speculative conversation about the “miracle” of B.H. Obama.
Why is it, when so many people in Washington from the Senate to the CIA, SCOTUS, etc. know about Barry’s Kenyan father and about the Indonesia interlude, why have they and are they still playing dumb? Every single one of them! I don’t buy the thesis that they are all cowed by the idea that going after him would be tantamount to inciting race riots. The guy is a nightmare and almost anything would be preferable to 3+ years or more of his “rule.” So what the heck is it?
We came up with some rather outlandish theories including a foreign enemy with the ability to explode strategically buried nukes should their boy be challenged. Have you given this much thought?
Crumbs. We need to get you back into shape!
Without actually checking a map, I think that Santa Cruz is a lot farther south of San Francisco than 30 miles -- more like 130 miles! And that's from the airport which is south of the city.
I recall, and I can not find it, that when asked about the “birth certificate issue” during the campaign he simply stated “We have the law on our side.”
Can you e-mail some of those Michigan peaches? : )
Ours come from both the U.S. and South America. What a waste. But they must be selling them or they wouldn’t be importing them.
Maybe Panamanians think peaches taste like that normally as awful as they are in their green state but look ripe.
After reading through this entire thread and the associated links, here are things that nag at me:
— The Dunhams are said to have disliked Barry Sr. There is a quote from Madelyn that he was “strange.” In addition, unconventional as they may have been, they lived in a time when a pregnancy out of wedlock was shameful, as was interracial dating and marriage.
I don’t believe for one minute that they allowed Stanley Ann to live at home while she was pregnant and subject them to disgrace, unless they locked her up. And she doesn’t seem the type who would be hidden willingly. They shipped her — figuratively or literally — off somewhere, and that precludes a Hawaiian birth. Canada? Kenya? How?
— That hasty family departure from Washington State in summer 1960. It makes no sense. There would be a lot of clues to unanswered questions if we could only find out WHY they left Washington so suddenly. They ditched good jobs, a stable neighborhood, Stanley Ann’s plans for U of W, probably friends and neighbors — for what? A new home halfway around the world where they knew no one and the cost of living was higher and they took lower-paying jobs? Doesn’t pass the smell test.
Was one of the Stanleys in trouble? Would Seattle court records from that summer give clues? Was Stanley Ann already pregnant? Is there a FReeper in Chicago who might know Madelyn’s brother?
Do we have anything but 0’s word that he was born on Aug. 4, 1961?
— Does anyone have wills or probate records for Barry Sr., Stanley Armor Dunham, Madelyn Dunham, Stanley Ann Soetoro, Lolo Soetoro?
