Ex-Teacher Says She Never Had Sex With Student: Woman Fired After Rumors Circulate

COVINGTON, Ky. -- Nicole Howell said she was fired from her dream job as an English teacher at Dayton High School after rumors circulated about an alleged improper relationship.

"Every time I think it's going to end because someone's going to step up and see I didn't do anything wrong, they continue it," said the 26-year-old Howell.

Howell said she told the principal about the rumors after she heard them.

"I told him then and there, I've never had sex with this student," Howell said. "I have never seen him. I have never even seen him off campus."

The 16-year-old football player did not attend any class Howell taught, and authorities allege the sexual contact took place in Covington, where Howell lives.

Howell said she went to the police station to take a polygraph test, but instead was arrested, and within days she was suspended and fired.

"There's not DNA, there's no pictures, there's not video, there's nothing," she said.

Her attorneys, Kris Nevels and Eric Deters, said Howell plans to file a civil suit against the school district, Dayton police and the alleged victim.

"I've done everything I can in my power to show my innocence, and yet here I am today," Howell said. "I'm still being prosecuted for something I didn't do, for something I didn't do with no evidence to prosecute me on."

Her next court date is set for Sept. 28.

""You're first 'Letter to Parents'"? "

Good grief. I did it twice. That's why she's the English Professor and I why I had to settle for law school. Lawyers can't spell. Hell, we can barely read.

“That being said, this girl may or may not be innocent, but she can’t put a proper sentence together so it’s better off she’s not employed as a teacher at the moment.”

Jeeze, what is happening on this site? I’ve never seen such a clear railroading in my life. Man, have a look at the picture.

Yes, I have been a freeper for a long time. That’s why it’s depressing to see it degraded into an echo chamber for groupthink morons.

I’ve had plenty of laughs over the years from truly witty posts. What I don’t get is the idea that jokes that were a little forced thousands of iterations ago are still worth recycling. Another thing I don’t get is the way human dignity gets assaulted around here. That fact that these deluxe yucks are being had at the expense of someone whose life is about to be ruined makes it all the more sick and tragic. Just because someone is anti-Obama doesn’t mean he can’t still be a heartless bastard.

LOL

When my son went to his “6th Grade Center” in Las Vegas schools, we received one of those teacher's letter home. The lady that penned the missive had a PhD and used tons of very long words - words badly chosen for the context of the letter.

We went to visit on the so-called teachers night, she inquired about my views on “the letter”.

She seemed shocked when I called it intellectually racist and bigoted. She was shocked - she seemed numb to the idea that most of the students parents were not primary English speakers and would likely find her communication incomprehensible. To her credit, the letter was sent a second time and in simplified English.

Some teacher just live in a different universe than the one most of us inhabit. You did well to pull your children from the school.

The Liberals, having been in control of education in this country for the past 20+ years, have resulted in the schools being essentially run by the kids. Their opinions, their word on incidents, is given much more weight than that of their teachers. If they receive a grade that they don’t like, instead of working harder to get a better grade next time, they make up false allegations about their teacher. Allegations which are believed to the point where teachers have been removed from classrooms while an “investigation” goes on, or at least subjected to the specter of possibly losing their livelihood over the word of a spoiled rotten lazy brat. In NYC, the NON-EDUCATOR Chancellor has extended the definition of “corporeal punishment” from hitting a student (That’s what corporeal means, dope! BODILY!) to making a student feel “nervous or afraid”, or merely raising your voice to them. I have personally seen a so-called security guard come in, upon hearing a habitually misbehaving student receive a verbal reprimand, and say to the student, “Wouldn’t you like to come down to the dean’s office and file a report on Mr. X? Has he made you feel nervous, or afraid?” etc. Oh yeah, and the darling student quickly gets 5 or 6 of their friends to file affidavits attesting to whatever they made up, which are given a LOT of weight in these investigations, even though they are a pack of pure lies. Although over 90% of these so-called “corporeal punishment” charges have proven totally FALSE, NOTHING happens to the kid who files it. The teacher has to go through seven kinds of hell awaiting the good word that the charge was unsubstantiated, while the kids get a good laugh, “Haha, we got back at Mr. X! He won’t give us a failing grade next time (whether we deserve one or not)! This is absolutely destroying education, as it rocket-powers grade inflation. That, and the huge monetary bonuses Bloomberg the mayor awards principals and assistant principals for good grade stats is turning the whole educational process into a total farce. “Good teachers” are now defined as those who pass virtually anyone who can fog up a mirror, and “bad” teachers are those who grade honestly and keep their principal or assistant principal from getting their huge bonus. And are harassed continuously for their “sins”.

Both my boys had the same teacher 2 yrs. apart.(circa early 70s)

They used to imitate her and laugh.

When she got upset with a student she would make a fist, wave it and say,

“You be bad, you get five!”

...she seemed numb to the idea that most of the students parents were not primary English speakers...

Clearly she should have provided translations for all the parents.

Oh, they can't read their native language either ?

Obviously she should have delivered it orally in their native language.

/sarcasm

Sheesh. If you come here you should learn how to speak ENGLISH. And so should the kids !

Umm, I think you missed my point.

The parents DID speak (limited) English - I know of some college grads that would have had trouble wading thru the gobblygook the woman had sent home with her students.

Keep in mind there MASSIVE numbers of native born, multigenerational, “English speaking” Americans, mostly educated in publik skool, that are - in fact, functionally illiterate.

Ask a friend to explain their credit card application, mortgage paperwork or even what is required for a living will - I suspect you may be surprised.
