COVINGTON, Ky. -- Nicole Howell said she was fired from her dream job as an English teacher at Dayton High School after rumors circulated about an alleged improper relationship.
"Every time I think it's going to end because someone's going to step up and see I didn't do anything wrong, they continue it," said the 26-year-old Howell.
Howell said she told the principal about the rumors after she heard them.
"I told him then and there, I've never had sex with this student," Howell said. "I have never seen him. I have never even seen him off campus."
The 16-year-old football player did not attend any class Howell taught, and authorities allege the sexual contact took place in Covington, where Howell lives.
Howell said she went to the police station to take a polygraph test, but instead was arrested, and within days she was suspended and fired.
"There's not DNA, there's no pictures, there's not video, there's nothing," she said.
Her attorneys, Kris Nevels and Eric Deters, said Howell plans to file a civil suit against the school district, Dayton police and the alleged victim.
"I've done everything I can in my power to show my innocence, and yet here I am today," Howell said. "I'm still being prosecuted for something I didn't do, for something I didn't do with no evidence to prosecute me on."
Her next court date is set for Sept. 28.

The fact she was ready to go down to the police station and take a polygraph shows me she was trying to clear her name plus do anything possible to prove her innocence. Never saw the kid, never had him in a class or anything. If the kid lied - he should go to jail.

A couple of girls in Akron pulled this same stunt on a teacher they didnt like. It was months before they admitted that they had lied. EXACTLY the reason I chose to stay away from education. As a man, I am scared to death that one bad grade would mean curtains for me! The fact that I would have to ensure that my doors were open and someone was available as a witness at all times is enough to keep me away from the educational system.
Kids are nothing like we/they were 15 - 20 years ago. Today they're irresponsible, disrespectful, and arrogant beyond any comprehension of sense.

Her attorneys, Kris Nevels and Eric Deters ...Eric Deters' nickname is the "bulldog". He sometimes hosts a radio program on 700 WLW (Cincinnati) radio, also home to Bill "Willie" Cunningham (known for getting thrown under the bus by McQueeq. I like Nicole Howell's chances with this.

She got her degree in a modern college;her grammar is probably better than many other college grads.
Surely you don't want to turn back the clock to say 1950 standards of education?I am amazed at the difference in content between the schoolbooks of the 1950s and the ones I had in the 1970s and then today's .Slowly less real knowledge and more socialistic bullshit has been put forth as education.

Another article states that she admitted to phoning and texting the boy after class and on weekends. However, at the same time, the text messages should be available and had they shown some untoward behavior, I imagine the prosecutor would have mentioned it in the press. None of the articles I saw had any mention from the prosecutor. Sounds like a pretty shaky indictment.

They fired her before a trial?
If she's found not guilty, she will be set for life. This reminds me of a movie, WILD THINGS

Young (presumably innocent) teachers have to put up with a lot of crap from kids and bureaucracy now-a-days. You couldn’t pay me enough to deal with it.
Having 2 close friends who are public school teachers and a mother who is a retired one, I’ve heard horror stories that have made my decision to home school my future children a very easy one.
That being said, this girl may or may not be innocent, but she can’t put a proper sentence together so it’s better off she’s not employed as a teacher at the moment.

That being said, this girl may or may not be innocent, but she cant put a proper sentence together so its better off shes not employed as a teacher at the moment. Because we all know how literate "journalists" are.
It is beyond the realm of reason that she was misquoted, or that the author/editors of the piece mangled the grammar themselves.
