Trig Palin has divided America
Politico ^ | 7-17-09 | Gary Bauer & Daniel Allott

Reactions to Sarah Palin’s decision to resign the governorship of Alaska have been a reminder of her unmatched ability to elicit strong emotions from friend and foe alike. We know some of the reasons why. It’s her evangelical Christianity and her folksy manner. It’s her small-town roots and her “new feminism.”

But there is something more. A year ago, Palin gave birth to her youngest son, Trig, who has Down syndrome. Since then, mother and son have become objects of the left’s unrelenting scorn and the right’s unflinching fidelity.

An underexamined reason why Palin is loved and loathed so fiercely is her intimate association with two of our most divisive issues: disability and the right to life.

In her resignation statement, Palin suggested her decision was due in part to her family’s reaction to personal attacks against Trig. Those comments stoked the rage of the Palin-haters. At Talking Points Memo, an article sarcastically suggested that Palin resigned because “she wants to spread Down syndrome ... because Down syndrome is just too cute to be reserved for one in 800 births.”

A Paliban Daily article titled “Sarah Palin’s Retarded Platform: More Trigs!” interpreted Palin’s outspokenness on disability rights as a political ploy to win votes. Other articles contained subtle but unmistakable eugenic overtones.

Oh my gosh....I did not mean Trigs HEART and SOUL. I CERTAINLY did not meant that TRIG is a sinner. GET REAL!

I meant that it is IMPOSSIBLE to miss the FACT that he endures Down's Syndrome. I said that liberals do not like IMPERFECTION...that is why ABORTION is such a huge industry. If a baby growing in a mother's womb is not wanted because it interrupts her PERFECT LIFE, or would make her life, as it is, more IMPERFECT, or an amniocentisis shows that the growing baby has Down's or other anomalies that make it less than physically perfect or mentally perfect...why, to a liber, YOU ABORT!!!! Sarah Palin did not DO THIS!

Sarah is wonderful example of a loving mother who is smart, compassionate, humorous, direct, lives by walking the walk she talks and provides a WONDERFUL EXAMPLE for all of us to admire and respect.

Please do not EVER think that I COULD ever believe a baby could sin. My goodness. that is totally creepy.

Btw-scientologists believe that mentally disabled people should be left to die because they will get a quicker chance to be born again, perhaps more healthy, in their reincarnation. Pretty sick, but then useless producers are not worthy of time and care and expense in the scientologists world of creepy 'get rid of the alien ick stuff' . Ew.

Undoubtedly.

The conscience would have to severely seared not to recognize that aborting is killing a baby. And it WILL cause psychological problems if not repented of and laid at the foot of the Cross.

I see three paths -
suppression and silent suffering
vehement justification (most vehement pro-aborts are “had-aborts”)
repentance and work to make it right - pro-life causes, etc.

THE BEST POST OF THE DAY...PROBABLY WEEK....MAYBE THIS YEAR SO FAR and a POST that should be read on the FLOOR of the HOUSE or SENATE ASAP...it is the perfect summation of the END GAME when a country starts down the road of allowing the government to determine who gets what in the health care field.

Why do the liberals want to change the best health care system in the world?

Anyone who claims to understand natural selection should be horrified by eugenics and dysgenics. The only government reproductive policy that is compatible with scientific evolutionary understanding is no government reproductive policy at all. No forced sterilizations, no forced subsidizations, no government-mandated parasitism, no forced abortions, no forced euthanasia.

Eugenics is to evolution what corporate subsidies, regulations, and nationalized corporations are to capitalistic free markets. Antithetical.

Wow. You may be dead on target. (Do you remember when her youngest dtr licker her fingers and tried to get Trig's stubborn cowlick to behave? That was one of the sweetest moments I have ever seen on TV and I would imagine it struck a cord with millions. )

It is the people who walk the talk that garner respect in the end.

(Which is a VERY GOOD thing to hold over our congress and senate and executive branch....I want to know WHAT their health care plan, that we pay for, is right now...and what makes it so SPECIAL that they do not have to live under the crap they want to lay on all of us...and...I want to know if they will have to pay a penalty every year for NOT BEING a part of the new horror plan like we will if we OPT OUT.)

The libs want to change the best health care system in the world in order to be able to control our lives. This is just one facet of the how control thing. These people are maniacial control freaks. They are jealous of people like castro and chavez. They are treated like rock stars when they come to the USA. All the controls they are after, our money (taking over the banks and raising taxes) our vehicles/mobility (taking over the auto industry and pushing for publicly funded mass trasit) gun control (to make us more vulnerable) and on and on. But this one, taking over health care is especially evil, because some govt official will have the power over life and death. And I really believe that if they get that kind of power, it will become politicized.

I was not accusing you of heresy. I know you were not accusing Trig of anything. I only wanted to make sure we don't get confused by the language of the liberals. All of us are imperfect. My eyes are bad, my family has a history of back problems. The hair line ain't what it used to be. I am a carrier of the gene for celiac disease. Some of us have more imperfections than others. Some have life changing imperfections that they must deal with every moment of every day. Like Trig.

But where it really counts we are only imperfect in the decisions we make. Trig is not different from us in terms of divinity, or the right to human dignity. He should not be accorded less rights by law or social convention.

This article posted on Tuesday makes a VERY good point I think...

Sarah Palin and the Scum of the Earth

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-bloggers/2292365/posts

"One must attribute at least part of the vileness of these attacks, among left-wing blogs, to how very few of the leading left-wing bloggers have children of their own - were conservatives tempted to mock Obama's daughters, they would at least have to face their own daughters and sons at the end of a day of doing so. A political movement of the childless has no empathy for children. Empathy for other human beings requires human decency, and decency breeds hesitation - a hesitation the Online Left has never displayed. Were any of these people capable of shame, they would be feeling it. Instead, they have been gleefully dancing on Palin's political grave ever since. It is worth considering what the "New Politics" has looked like when applied to Sarah Palin, because it presents a cautionary tale for Republicans with families."

Post 30 has the Nazi poster about the cost of a mentally handicapped person’s life.

It seems to me that the people who support government control of life are very foolish. They don’t see that they’re the very people who are going to suffer when someone else is making every decision for them.

Amen, Jubal. I agree wholeheartedly. Without God our country is lost. It looks like at least half is lost already. We need a revival. M

Trig has not divided America. The cold, cruel, selfishness of Liberals’ hearts has.

Scratch a liberal and you will find a heartless despot underneath.

Just so we all are willing to objectively look at the deepest roots of what liberals are in the depths of their souls......

Liberals pass thoughtless, foolish, bad laws because they are governed by evil hearts.

How any person in the world could desire to erase such a beautiful gift is beyond me.

They are "Men Without Chests".

That is a chapter title of C.S. Lewis's book "Abolition of Man" Pub 1943, Lewis is one of Sarah's favorite authors.

Lewis says that men have a head (the intellect) a chest (the heart) and a stomach (appetite). But modern men have no chest (heart).

The heart is where love and compassion are found.

So you husband's buddy may have been a man without a chest.

Liberals pass thoughtless, foolish, bad laws because they are governed by evil hearts.

Couple that with blind stupidity and gullibility and that says it all.
To invest in the absolute destruction of God and country, which benefits them as much as it does us,drives home that point.
They're too coldhearted, too stupid and too sheepish to recognize that. God,guns and guts is not just a bumpersticker idea-it's absolutely the bedrock of our country, and what sets us apart-or,at least,it used to.
