A sign that the Obama administration is willing to publicly challenge Egypt's commitment to parliamentary democracy: various Middle Eastern news sources report that the administration insisted that at least 10 members of the Muslim Brotherhood, the country's chief opposition party, be allowed to attend his speech in Cairo on Thursday. The brotherhood is a Salafist/ Islamist party with branches in many countries, and it does not have a reputation for liberalism and has supported violent campaigns against Israel (and Egypt's own government). It has deep roots in the region and traces its intellectual lineage to Sayyid Qutb, a top American-educated Islamic intellectual who was executed -- or martyred -- by the Egyptian government in 1966. The Brotherhood has direct links with Sunni groups like Hamas in the Palestinian territories. Its standing in Egypt has suffered as of late because of a crackdown by the Egyptian government and a growing frustration that it is too conservative (anti-women's rights, the whole gamut) for a modern Middle East. Still, it's the largest Sunni opposition party in the world, and it's clear that the Obama administration wants to engage the Sunnis -- even the less moderate Sunnis -- in his "Mutual Respect" tour. Hoping to tamp down criticism that by speaking in Egypt, Obama is giving legitimacy to Hosni Mubarak's quasi-dictatorship, the administration also invited leading human rights activists to the speech.

And then I had a funny thought. It is God's timetable. Watch for, listen, know the signs.

Could America give rise to the Dragon or Beast? I spent years saying no. Now, I'm not so sure, especially now as 0bama is revealed with these Mideast excursions.

The only statement I’ve found from the MB about their invitation to tomorrow was on their official English Website. It includes the names of those who have accepted the invitation and will be attending.

Ten of MB Parliamentary Bloc have received official invitations to attend the speech of the US President Barak Obama which will be directed to the Islamic World from Cairo University tomorrow morning.
MB MPs are:
- Dr. Mohammed Saad El-Katatny (Head of the Parliamentary Bloc and member of the Guidance Bureau),
- Dr. Hazem Farouk,
- YosryTealab,
- Yosry Bayoumi,
- Alam Eldin El-Sakhawy,
- Adel El-Bermawy
- Mahmoud Mogahed
- Gamal Hanafy
- Bahaa Eldin Ateya
- Sheikh Mohammed Abdelrhman
In an exclusive statement to Ikhwanweb, Dr. El-Katatny stressed that the invitation was given to them by the Sheikh of Al-Azhar and not by the President of Cairo University.
The invitation included ten member of the MB Parliamentary Bloc in person, emphasizing that he expects that the ten names were chosen by the Presidency of the Parliament and the bloc did not interfere in the choice.
El-Katatny added that the invitation included listening to the speech only without participating in the private meeting between the US President and authors, politicians and representatives of the civil society,
He pointed out that that the invitation to the MB MPs came as a comparison between the US administration and the Egyptian regime, especially since there are pressures from the American media on its president to meet with all effective political and opposition powers in Egypt, and the Muslim Brotherhood in particular which represents 20% of the Parliament, as they stressed that if President Obama only met with the Egyptian regime then he will be supporting a dictatorship.
At the same time, the Egyptian regime refused such procedure therefore there had to be a comparison which is our invitation to the speech only and not to take part in the private meeting between Obama and Egyptian politicians and jurists.
He added “ the MB Parliamentary bloc decided to accept the invitation and will go for the speech since MB is a part of the Egyptian political system and the strongest faction among the opposition and the most one present in the Egyptian street.
Our exclusion was a big mistake and there is no reason why we shouldn’t listening to the speech from within the Cairo University since we were going to hear it from outside.
He hoped Obama’s speech would bring real change towards the Islamic world and its current issues, and not to just be a protocol to improve the image of the US new President.

What I was wondering, and asking about is how the translators in DC will re-word the speech into Arabic. I’m curious if there will be any changes, or placement of words that would indicate a different meaning to the Islamic world, than what we are listening to in English.
Maybe Obama can undermine the current leadership and make way from the Brotherhood. Like Carter did for Iran.

You can also keep an eye on the website www.memri.org. Their mission is to translate all kinds of Arabic media (print, TV, radio) into English to warn the West what’s actually being said. They’ve been in action since Arafat and Palestinian TV started having their version of Arabic Sesame Street which encouraged kids to be suicide martyrs.
But only if he really converted. If he lied about it to bring about muslim domination, then it’s okay.
The muslim brotherhood is a terrorist group and they are now being "peacful" only for a temporary period of time until the most opportune moment where they have enough power to become a very dangerous violent terrorists.
Soon, I am expecting him to sound a clarion call.
It won’t be a headline.
There won’t be a press conference denoting it.
It will be an off hand remark embedded in one of his many campaign speeches.
We will see it, but everyone else will wonder what went wrong.

Why no outcry from the muslim world?
He is the perfect candidadate for the islamization of America from within-the very top!
I believe they are forgiving him due to the doctrine of al-taqiyya which basically says a muslim can lie about anything as long as it advances Islam.
The only muslim I’ve heard about who despises him is Osama Bin Ladin, who is actually probably just pissed that Millstone is hogging all the attention now. Nobody holds their breath to see what OBL has to say anymore, it’s all about the 0.
