The stinking little fish is NOT endangered except on a local basis. There are literally billions of them elsewhere.
Turn on the pumps!

What they really need to do is build some desalinization plants. Fact is that there just isn’t enough fresh water available to satisfy their needs. This is not new, either. Been a problem for more than 100 years. It’s just a lot worse now.

The reporter didn't make the case that the underlying case that this isn't a choice of "industry versus environment" because the ESA case listing delta smelt is fraudulent. The real threats to delta smelt have little to do with water deliveries and more to do with introduced exotic fish species eating them.
More importantly, the NRDC is a bunch of crooked lawyers looking to create cheap land for their investors to develop. That is the real story here.

What they really need to do is build some desalinization plants. For which they would need... (drum roll please...) natural gas sweetened with carbon offsets. Which (besides real estate racketeering) is perhaps another reason why the NRDC is involved in this case.

The stinking little fish is NOT endangered except on a local basis. There are literally billions of them elsewhere.I don't doubt you are correct, but this illustrates a little-known manipulation under the endangered species act. It uses the term "extinction" not to mean the disappearance of a species form the earth, as most of us would assume. The ESA uses "extinction" to describe the disappearance of a species from a certain region or ecological system. Of course the media hide this from the people, possibly due as much to incompetence as collusion.
In any case, contrary to the liberal ethos, I maintain that people are more important than smelt.

I can’t take any more of this insanity, which is downright cruelty to fellow human beings. Those people need to take over that water supply and revert the water back to those canals. Are we men or are we fish?

I think something is wrong with this picture...
- A Judge orders pumps shut off that feeds water to hundreds of farmers in CA's Central Valley, turning the farm land into a dust bowl, 80,000 jobs are lost and the USA's food supply is disrupted. This is done 'to save' a 2" long Minnow. ---- By 'The Law' this is perfectly okay.
- A 'Terrorist' Blows Up those pumps that feeds water to hundreds of farmers in CA's Central Valley, turning it into a dust bowl, 80,000 jobs are lost and the USA's food supply is disrupted. -- By 'The Law' this is NOT okay, it's Terrorism, and the perps face life in prison.
I don't see a difference. The end result is the same.
Except one *terrorist* is wearing a Black Robe.

From firsthand knowledge dealing with this stuff on a daily basis, top to bottom, the environmental movement, and the use of the endangered species act in particular, is fraudulent. It is 100% non-science based propaganda that is being used to destroy private property rights, to employ an army of job-killing bureaucrats, and to enable the transition to international totalitarian marxism. There is not one square foot of land surface on the face of the earth that the enviro-nazis will concede is NOT habitat for some mythical, non-existent species. Environmental fascism is a key component of the liberal fascist machine, and it is a mortal threat to the human race.

It is 100% non-science based propaganda that is being used to destroy private property rights, to employ an army of job-killing bureaucrats, and to enable the transition to international totalitarian marxism. What's really mortifying is the legislation creating the ESA was signed by Richard Nixon. The idea that bureaucrats can assure no species will be allowed to go extinct, ever, is breathtaking chutzpah and a denial of reality. There are tens of thousands more extinct species than currently exist.
The ESA is just another tool, like AGW, to politically manipulate the uneducated masses. It's directly related to the "Green" notion that humanity is the Earth's real scourge and our numbers must be strictly controlled. (Translation: Greens like Ted Turner will live and rule over a "perfect" Marxist world while the rest of us benighted s.o.b.'s will go to the New Age equivalent of gas chambers.)
All this might be laughable except American voters keep electing the people that will make it happen!
