My daughter had a textbook that called Chiang-Kai-shek
by another name - Jie-Shi Jiang
I always wondered why.
My daughter, who is 16, says her history book (don’t know the name), in a section about 9/11, never mentions that the terrorists were Muslim, or the countries they were from. She says the event itself is barely mentioned and the rest of the chapter goes on to say that there was trouble all around the globe, as if this were just one flareup.
I will look forward to the book.

I do think that while they are important, we aren't quite "there" yet in terms of AVERAGE apolitical people being fed up. But we're getting closer.

Some of the “new” Chinese spelling might be behind this: Mao Tse Tung, the spelling I grew up with, is now Mo Ze Dung (more appropriate, if you ask me!)
Homeschooling, if it continues to be allowed, is the only antidote.
Public PC indoctrination will be the death of this country.
A lot of the stuff isn’t put on air: I’ve given them hundreds of screwups, but we only take the most obvious and damaging. And clearly, ANY book will have a few errors. I just got a note that in our “Patriot’s History of the United States” we called Lincoln’s bodyguard “Porter” when his name was “Parker.”
I’ve been meaning to ask you, I do not remember the names, but many mistakes you point out are from the same publisher.
Is it because this publisher is that bad, or so few companies publish textbooks?
Larry wrote another book.
I've already paid his kids' dental bills and bought him a new car.
I guess he needs another house.
Seriously, I give his books away to friends and family and especially my grandkids.

There are two levels of error. On "The Trouble With Textbooks," we mostly have sought to focus on bias and slanting of the material, as opposed to outright errors of fact. Because all the publishers, editors, and professors have a similar world view, though, not only do errors of interpretation creep in, but errors of fact creep in as well (i.e., the "Columbus killed the Indians" thing isn't even challenged by editors any more).
