Obama Requires YOU to SERVE, H.R.1388, "The Give Act" to reform the National Service Laws

HR 1388, will hit the House floor on Tuesday.It is called the Generations Invigorating Volunteerism and Education Act (The Give Act.) The House is scheduled to Rule this week. Sponsored by Democrat Representative Carolyn McCarthy (NY), Education and Labor Committee. The objective is to reauthorize and reform the national service laws.

Democrat Rep. McCarthy is sponsoring the bill with 25 co-sponsors, ALL Democrats, including Charlie Rangel. Need I say more.

From what I have read and seen, Gage was not a bad man. At the time, his loyalties had tobe with the King. It was all he knew. Thank God King George was stupid enough to think the locals were too scattered and too loyal (Sound like Obama to anyone) to band together against 3,000 British Troops.

I just can't imagine the American people standing by and allowing this to happen...even tho I feel we are surrounded by nothing but sheeple.

It'll be interesting to see the reaction of those in public housing to this....I remember when it was suggested by a former administration that it might be nice if they would each volunteer 1 day a MONTH to go out around their housing and pick up the trash, litter...etc.and the residents had a tissyfit....so much for being grateful or wanting to take pride in where one lives....I can't imagine how they'd react to the little dictators’ notion of 3 yrs. of volunteering....well, that is unless his plan is only for WHITES.

I di, Bootless...I have very strong emotions about our military. I was enlisted in the Corps, but because of my post enlisted profession, have worked with, for and had high ranking retired officers working beside me...I marveled at how military officers are subjected to post commission colleges and courses on not only war, but how our country was founded. I trust them and believe in them for defending this country. I pray I am correct!

What 'Oath of Allegiance' are they referring to?
I know that immigrants take an oath when they become naturalized. Will they allow illegal aliens to join the National Civilian Community Corps in order to become full-fledged citizens?

I truly believe this rumble we’re feeling is real, and that it’s deeper and more widespread than we really know.I feel the rumble as well...and I know, as I know there is a God in Heaven, it is a wake up call to us all. God gave us the ability to form the greatest country...the greatest civilization since the dawn of man, and we FORGOT him...forgot HE got us here. We are going through a God SMACKDOWN right now. But we ar his children. We will learn from this and be okay if he knows we learned! Not a sermon...I'm just saying :)

They are literally trying to destroy our freedoms and our democracy.REPUBLIC.

With democratically elected representatives to be sure, but a Republic, under the rule of law, not of men, not even the representatives of the People.

Search your favorite electronic copy of the Constitution. You'll not find "democracy", or any of it's derivatives such as "democratic". You will find "Republican" (Art IV, Section 4, yet another part of the Constitution that is not being observed, unless one thinks Illinois has a Republican Form of Government" rather than a big city machine writ large.)

There is some crazy stuff in this bill.

I read this section alone and could not believe it. They are talking about everyone volunteering - and starting programs in elementary school.

“(5) The effect on the Nation, on those who serve, and on the families of those who serve, if all individuals in the United States were expected to perform national service or were required to perform a certain amount of national service.”
