Adorned with bowie knives, pistols and peaceful exasperation...Freedom activists swarm the New Hampshire legislature demanding passage of a warning to Washington. This bill would declare the union nullified if the central government commits certain abuses.
Sounds like a good idea to do for Washington DC.
This seemed to be a well behaved crowd and this is good. What should concern our elected officials is the fact that there is a movement that is swelling that will be hard to ignore and even more difficult to contain. It took the shot heard round the world in Boston to lite the fuse of freedom and the American revolution. We will decide the fate of America not our elected officials.

DEAR SIR, — I am now to acknoledge the receipt of your favors of October the 4th, 8th, & 26th. In the last you apologise for your letters of introduction to Americans coming here. It is so far from needing apology on your part, that it calls for thanks on mine. I endeavor to show civilities to all the Americans who come here, & will give me opportunities of doing it: and it is a matter of comfort to know from a good quarter what they are, & how far I may go in my attentions to them. The British ministry have so long hired their gazetteers to repeat and model into every form lies about our being in anarchy, that the world has at length believed them, the English nation has believed them, the ministers themselves have come to believe them, & what is more wonderful, we have believed them ourselves. Yet where does this anarchy exist? Where did it ever exist, except in the single instance of Massachusetts? And can history produce an instance of rebellion so honourably conducted? I say nothing of it’s motives. They were founded in ignorance, not wickedness. God forbid we should ever be 20 years without such a rebellion. The people cannot be all, & always well informed. The part which is wrong will be discontented in proportion to the importance of the facts they misconceive. If they remain quiet under such misconceptions it is a lethargy, the forerunner of death to the public liberty. We have had 13. states independent 11. years. There has been one rebellion. That comes to one rebellion in a century & a half for each state. What country before ever existed a century & a half without a rebellion? & what country can preserve it’s liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon & pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots & tyrants. It is it’s natural manure. Our Convention has been too much impressed by the insurrection of Massachusetts: and in the spur of the moment they are setting up a kite to keep the hen-yard in order. I hope in God this article will be rectified before the new constitution is accepted. — You ask me if any thing transpires here on the subject of S. America? Not a word. I know that there are combustible materials there, and that they wait the torch only. But this country probably will join the extinguishers. — The want of facts worth communicating to you has occasioned me to give a little loose to dissertation. We must be contented to amuse, when we cannot inform.

Over the last 30 years, swarms of hippies and Leftist lunatics have been flooding in here, along with the Liberal suburban types trying to escape the high taxes of all the states around us.
Consequently, our legislature has been filled with many of these newcomers and their spawn.
Recently, the attempt to pass the most restrictive homeschool laws in the nation brought out the Freedom Lovers from all camps in support of the homeschoolers; Free Staters, Libertarians, and just plain old Live-Free-or-Die types. You know, the guys who have long hair and beards, but it ain’t because they’re hippies. They usually have names like Wade and Zeke, chew tobacco, and drink homebrew and dandylion wine.
There were over 1000 people at the hearings.
The most restrictive of these laws was struck down by executive session, on a vote of 18:1 against.
Meanwhile, the homeschoolers have mobilized to join the Free-Staters and Live-Free-Or-Die New Hampshire hillbillies in getting this Free-State bill to pass (some of us fit into all the above categories).
It’s almost as if having the statists take over was a gift. This has awakened and mobilized the spirit of Liberty among us, and it’s freaking out the Leftists.
The Leftists all looked like they had Chia Hair at the hearing for the anti-homeschool bills when they saw the crowds.

I tend to have a Son's of Liberty style view of it.
I do not believe they lost,they're a lot of voters who will turn out at the next rally, because they will see that they need to in relation to the Obamaranian Initiative to form a nationalist socialist state out of the USA, where traditional freedoms are diminished.
Voter registration and the Census under the White House is but one of many such indications. As you probably know the list is now quite long after anly 2 months of Obama rule.
At last count there are 10 states with 10th amendment related legislation in the hopper, or passed.
I believe the nationwide 'tea parties' are a clear indicator of that, no question.
It is a GREAT idea to do it armed. Especially if there is no law against it! Here in Tennessee, the legislators put in metal detectors after they were almost tarred and feathered for trying to ram an income tax down our throats.

It will be amazing that a hundred years or so from now there will be people we personally know that will be viewed as great patriots of our country and were willing to put it all on the line to keep America great.

I disagree. A peaceful, yet armed, demonstration sends the message that the ‘peaceful’ part can be temporary. And that’s a good message to send to politicians who all too often act with impunity and arrogance.
