TAMPA - After President Barack Obama won the election, people flooded gun stores because of speculation that he may limit gun ownership or raise taxes on them. Even though neither has happened, the amount of people wanting to get their hands on a gun hasn't gone down. Scott Patrick is the General Manager of the Shoot Straight gun range in Tampa. He says the number of people coming into his store is still going up. "For whatever reason, whether it's the economy or crime, people don't feel safe," he said. Patrick is having serious trouble keeping all kinds of fire arms in stock, even holsters are often backordered. However, he says ammunition is what is really flying off store shelves. Ammo that sells for personal protection is as good as gold these days, and it's costing 30 to 40 percent more than it used to.

Bought about $500 of ammo in the past 3 weeks.
Went to Walmart today. The only rifle in there that was not a shotgun was a 22. I bought it.
“For whatever reason, whether it’s the economy or crime, or a blatant Socialist in the White House, people don’t feel safe,” he said.
There. Now everyone can understand it! ;)
Obama hasn’t gotten around to gun control yet. It’s on his agenda. This writer is not intellectually honest, by saying that people are stocking up, even though their fears of Obama and guns haven’t been realized.
Even Obama can’t implement his entire agenda at once.

We have always owned guns.
My son purchased his first personal gun two weeks ago.
What an idiot "writer." We are only 1 month into this new administration and The One has passed laws, appointed crooks, appeased our enemies and issued EOs that are going to destroy our nation. He needs an encore for Month 2 and it could an all-out assault on the Second Amendment.
Little old ladies are walking out with box fulls in Tx.
Its been happening for months.
So, Warren Elly aspires to be one of the “Masters of the Obvious.”
Wonder what planet he’s been on the past coupla months?
If nothing else, B. Hussein has certainly managed to stimulate the firearms sector of the economy!
This is chicken little panic buying just like Y2K.
Who do these buyer’s think they are going to be shooting?
You need, at most, one gun and a couple boxes of ammo per capable household member.
In seven months there will be an ocean of these panic goods at substantial discounts as people try to raise money to buy food and utilities.
Yet...
Umm.... if you have guns, you can get food.
Whatever reason?
Try "Obama".
I believe the run on guns has as its basis the realization that Social War is coming. If we had an honest media a survey would be conducted and reported then my suspicians would be confirmed or refuted. People with whom I have talked have reported they fear the coming collapse. This clown and his administration are incompetent and racist as hell.
Mine must be either old and tired, or domesticated.
It sits quietly on my shelves.
“You need, at most, one gun and a couple boxes of ammo per capable household member.”
Are you joking?
If the bullet imprinting scheme goes into effect, ammo prices will shoot way up. And that is just one of the laws being considered which might affect ammor prices.
Not to mention the fact that in a time of uncertainty, ammo might be worth more than the dollar which is currently being printed out like candy.
If you think this is just like Y2K, you are deluding yourself IMO.
Bingo!
And most likely anything else you wish to barter for.
Response: REPENT! To imply he is less than a god is blasphemy!
I wished I had been able to buy ammo the past few weeks. But the caliber I need isn’t that common in this area apparently, or the dealers are out of stock.
the one nice thing is that I have 12, 16, and 20 gauge shotguns and so I have been stocking up on that.
What I need is .250 Savage (.250-3000).
Tools are important.
