Went to Walmart today. The only rifle in there that was not a shotgun was a 22. I bought it.

“For whatever reason, whether it’s the economy or crime, or a blatant Socialist in the White House, people don’t feel safe,” he said.

There. Now everyone can understand it! ;)

Obama hasn’t gotten around to gun control yet. It’s on his agenda. This writer is not intellectually honest, by saying that people are stocking up, even though their fears of Obama and guns haven’t been realized.

Even Obama can’t implement his entire agenda at once.

We have always owned guns.

My son purchased his first personal gun two weeks ago.

So, Warren Elly aspires to be one of the “Masters of the Obvious.”

Wonder what planet he’s been on the past coupla months?

If nothing else, B. Hussein has certainly managed to stimulate the firearms sector of the economy!

This is chicken little panic buying just like Y2K.

Who do these buyer’s think they are going to be shooting?

You need, at most, one gun and a couple boxes of ammo per capable household member.

In seven months there will be an ocean of these panic goods at substantial discounts as people try to raise money to buy food and utilities.

"After President Barack Obama won the election, people flooded gun stores because of speculation that he may limit gun ownership or raise taxes on them. Even though neither has happened..."

Yet...

"For whatever reason, whether it's the economy or crime, people don't feel safe,"

Whatever reason?

Try "Obama".

I believe the run on guns has as its basis the realization that Social War is coming. If we had an honest media a survey would be conducted and reported then my suspicians would be confirmed or refuted. People with whom I have talked have reported they fear the coming collapse. This clown and his administration are incompetent and racist as hell.

Mine must be either old and tired, or domesticated.

It sits quietly on my shelves.

I wished I had been able to buy ammo the past few weeks. But the caliber I need isn’t that common in this area apparently, or the dealers are out of stock.

the one nice thing is that I have 12, 16, and 20 gauge shotguns and so I have been stocking up on that.

What I need is .250 Savage (.250-3000).

The supply chain seems to be filling up again. Most web sites seem to have 5.56 and 7.62x39 in stock and it seems like major vendors are starting to restock. It looks like the unseasonable ammo surge after the election just caught retail merchants and maybe manufacturers and and importers flatfooted.

I plan to add another fat fifty can to my stock next weekend at the Cow Palace gun show.

The modern carbine back-order issue is still a bother though. I’ve seen on forums that there is still a 3 month backlog for modern rifles just about everywhere.

BLOAT!

“Bought about $500 of ammo in the past 3 weeks.”

I used to buy that every week before the prices went insane. Now it is ridiculous. I am the neighborhood warlord.

Walked into a discount food store lately say Aldis or Sav a lot ? the tale is in the older generation look at their faces they are scared and worried and are buying foods en~mass the foods they are buying are canned goods and dry non perrishes .

they are stocking up because they know instincts are guiding them not hunger or want and im not talking about people in there 50’s i’m talking bout people in their 70’s and 80’s

Welfare folks usually buy around the first week of the month so i know it wasn’t those folks this was in the middle of the month and this store was packed it was a geritol and ben gay convention i talked to one of the keepers and she said it had been like that for a couple of months canned and dry goods were flying off shelves and it kept them at the store later that usual because of restocking
.
People ARE scared but when the older generation is scared its time to listen !

I have three shotguns and a .22 rifle (along with a number of pistols), but have never had the inclination to purchase a larger caliber rifle until now. I have three options within the rifle that I've decided to purchase, a Marlin XL7: 30-06, 25-06, or 270.

Is there anyone out there who could give me some guidance on what they believe to be the best caliber to purchase and why?
