A few weeks ago, I posted a thread asking how many of you would be interested in holding a centralized FReeper meeting somewhere in the middle of the country, possibly on an airline hub so a maximum number of FReepers could attend. Lots of people sounded interested, but only if it were held closer to home and preferably within driving distance.
Ok, if one big central meeting is not feasible, I posted another thread asking about regional meetings. Sounds like a lot more people are interested in this, but everyone's asking when one will be scheduled in their area. Well, folks, please do not wait on me to schedule your FReepmeet.
I would like to explore ideas for taking our country back from the Marxists. I would like to see us rebuild our chapters and networking systems, only stronger than ever. I think we need to form groups or chapters in every congressional district in the country. In fact, right down to the county and city level. We need to form groups of people who can work together to recruit and penetrate the local political organizations at the district and state levels and right on through to national politics.
We need strength in numbers, ideas, candidates, funding and get out the vote efforts. We'll need homegrown networking in case Obama reinstates the fairness doctrine and neuters talk radio and possibly even the Internet.
I think we need to organize in every city, town or community where we can put together a group of ten or more FReepers. The local groups can work with district or regional groups and tie into state groups. We need to penetrate into Republican politics at every level. We need to ensure that the very best CONSERVATIVE candidates are nurtured, recruited, supported and elected at the city, county, state and federal levels.
We need to get to know each other personally. Local networking is the key. Meet and know your local FReeper allies. Exchange phone numbers and email addresses. Build websites and mailing lists. Penetrate into other conservative or political groups. Educate and recruit. We take it back one assembly district, one city, one county, one state at a time. No, belay that. We do it simultaneously in each and every assembly district, city, county, congressional district and state in the entire country!
There is nothing stopping us from getting started today!
If not us, who? If not now, when?
Ok, getting started. I've reviewed where our hits are coming from and not surprisingly the largest numbers come from California, Texas, Florida and New York. I think for sure we should have regional conventions in these areas, and in just about any populous area where we can get a hundred or more FReepers to meet. There's no reason we shouldn't have meetings in Chicago, St Louis, Kansas City, Denver, Seattle, Atlanta, New Orleans, Las Vegas, etc, just to name a few cities that were suggested on prior threads. Also, we can't forget Alaska and Hawaii! Also, in any local community where we can get ten to twenty-five FReepers to attend.
Any group in any state, region, city or community can organize and schedule a meeting. No need to wait on anyone to get started. In fact some states or regions may need more than one. For example, I can easily see regional conventions being necessary in Northern and Southern California and two or more in Texas and Florida.
I think we can submit and debate ideas on how best to accomplish our goals, how to organize, whether or not we should form a PAC or a 527, how to advance our best ideas and people, etc., whether or not a national convention would be helpful, even selecting delegates for a national convention, but for sure just to start building a network of conservatives on the ground.
With this in mind, would like to start entertaining serious proposals for possible locations and dates for Northern and Southern California. Also will need volunteers to help organize and coordinate our activities.
And hopefully, other states and regions will follow suit.
By the way, I'd like to attend as many of these events as I possibly can, so hopefully, they will not all be scheduled on the same weekend. Hoping we form many chapters and hold dozens of meetings and as many FReepers as possible attend one or more!
I wouldn’t mind holding one, somewhere in the Philadelphia- DC-Charleston area.
It would be chosen because of its ease from I 95.
RE: “They come out of the Liberal factory known as Public Schoos, not to mention the universities”
and...
“It works that way in L.A. too. I think that people are ready for a change though”

Yes, I’m a product of L.A. City schools (long ago, in fifties and sixties). Didn’t notice the leftists that much until high school, ending ‘67. A few actual communist party members were teaching then and it’s just gotten worse.
Back to topic, there are probably enough FReepers between Ventura, L.A. and Orange counties to hold a very decent sized meeting. San Diego County would do well on its own — there’s really bad traffic between L.A. area and S.D. and that short trip can take twice as long as it should.
RE: “Orange County might be perfect for all of SoCal as a central meeting place”
*********
I’m in L.A. but you could be correct — O.C. would draw from Riverside/San Bernardino Counties, plus much of L.A. Even a few Ventura County folks might be persuaded to make that drive to O.C.
Reinstating old Houston FR email list, Jim.
Anyone wishing to be added, FReepmail me!
I think we should have a Missouri meeting. Definitely!
OK. Well, I'm in. We need to get more SoCal FReepers.
FYI HOUSTON FREEPERS! I’m now far north of Houston so we need someone to handle Houston proper while I take Spring, Tomball, Magnolia, Conroe.
Anymouse, you want Clear Lake??
Someone want Katy?
WHO wants Houston?
Forgive me if I’ve left anyone off my ping list.. Please contact other Houston area FReepers - if you know of any - others because my list is incomplete!

Got more??
Pls see Post #144. SORRY I missed you! ;-)
Maybe we should just take over the Petoskey KOA for a weekend! That would be fun.
Thank you so much for getting the MI notice system un-snafu’d! Many of us are already excited about planning a state get-together. Mille grazie!
For years, CPAC waived their normal booth fee ($2,000 at the time, as I recall) for FR, due to the large number of people FR drew to CPAC. This, sadly, is no longer the case.

Add me to the list. / Remove me from the list.
I’ll be there if I can depending on schedule and timing. I’m thinking we’ll probably have a dozen or two regional meetings followed by a national meeting in DC. The national meeting might even include some sort of protest at the White House or Congress, ie, there are a lot of PO’d people calling for a march on Washington. Maybe we can get together with other groups and make it happen.
I’m not going to have the financial wherewithal to travel to each and every meeting across the country, but I’d like to be present at several. We’ll be planning on driving to DC, so I’d like to visit with chapters or FReeper groups along the way. If the timing is such that we can make a meeting, great! If not, then maybe we can get together for informal group meetings as we pass through.
Hope to see you soon.
I like the idea of getting 10 to 25 in local areas. This will give us a chance to get to know our local fellow FReepers in a local setting.
I’m in Oconee County, SC. I could probably reserve the Salem Community Center.
Interested Upstate FReepers contact me and let’s get rolling.
Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) is THE American Airlines hub.
Sorry about any double or triple pinging of those on the troop support ping list, but this is an important thread.
What does it cost to rent an RV for a month?
Could you get a driver and someone to plan the stops along the way (some of which stops could be at FReeper homes with big driveways)?
I would love to go along. But my schedule will have to coincide with school. Hopefully there will be meetings this summer that I can attend.
We already have plans for Easter week.
No, but if you hum a few bars...
