HR 45 Firearm Licensing and Record of Sale Act of 2009
thomas.loc.gov ^ | effective bill Jan 6th 2009 | corrupt progressives liberalsout to ruin our country

Brought to you by the Obama Chicago machine. Are you ready for the House Bill titled 'HR 45, Blair Holt Licensing and Record Act of 2009'.

It will make it illegal to own a firearm unless it is registered with the database in Washington D.C. As a gun owner you will have to be finger printed, you will be required to provide your DL#, SS#, you must maintain a valid address at all times, submit to mental amd physical health records being put on file, you will also be required to file any address changes and you must report any ownership changes even if private sale.

Each update will cost $25 and if you fail to comply you will lose your right to own firearms and be subject to criminal penalties.

This bill and its language mirror almost completely one defeated last year in the House of Representatives by soon to be Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel. Will we the citizenry be as lucky this time?

We cannot let them pass this bill!

Two, I absolutely promise to ignore this law and refuse to obey it.

I'll second that.

Why can’t Congressmen be sued or impeached for proposing unconstitutional laws?

on the afternoon of May 10, 2007, Blair Holt, a junior at Julian High School in Chicago, was killed on a public bus riding home from school when he used his body to shield a girl who was in the line of fire after a young man boarded the bus and started shooting.

A better solution than shafting every gun owner in America would be to issue body armor to all students in cities like Chicago. Wouldn't cost that much and would protect them just the same. "If it's good enough for cops, it's good enough for our kids."

Everybody now has the link I put up from thomas.loc.gov to keep up with the bill’s progress.

If it gets co-sponsors, they’ll show up there.

If it gets put up for a vote in committee, it’ll show up there.

If Judd Gregg takes the Commerce job, the Dems get 60 votes and this passes the Senate and becomes law.

A better solution than shafting every gun owner in America would be to designate Chicago an open carry zone and issue a sidearm issue body armor to all students. in cities like Chicago.

fixed it...

the Supremes recently visited this issue; hopefully, Scalia’s decision will hold.

US Supreme Court strikes down Washington DC’s gun ban

June, 2008 - Justice Antonin Scalia, writing for the majority, said that the Constitution did not allow “the absolute prohibition of handguns held and used for self-defence in the home”. The court also ruled as unconstitutional DC’s requirement that other firearms be equipped with trigger locks or kept disassembled.

It will be interesting to see how many LEOs fall in line with this. I do not think many will....

I hope you are right, but I expect at least 8 out of 10 LEOs to fall into line with those who pay their retirement benefits.

A surprising number don't even know the laws they are supposed to be enforcing, so expecting them to support the constitution is perhaps a stretch.

Soon on the heels of this will be a denial of federal benefits to anyone who does not comply with the law. Then, there will be pressure on States, Counties, and Cities to enforce the law or else federal funds will be withheld. If they cannot impoverish you and your family, they can threaten to impoverish others to give them incentive to attack you.

Best question I've read in a long time. Please take a seat at the front of the class. ;^)

Well not *all* firearms, just all handguns, and all semiautomatic firearms with removable magazines. You would have to go through a dealer to any firearm, and I suspect they would be keeping records of the instant background check, even if the law doesn't change the "destroy after approval" provision of the current Brady Act, although I don't recall if it does or not.

Other than my pump shotguns, I only have one gun that probably would not be covered by the licensing provisions, an SKS. Eric Holder might very well rule that since it's magazine *can* be removed by pushing out a pin, and there are magazines that purport to be "removable" available for it, that even the SKS is covered. All three handguns are doublely "qualified", that is fitting both criteria. All three rifles do as well. (Even though one of each is a .22 rimfire, there are no exceptions for those). Unfortunately I only have two completely off the books firearms, from private party sales, both of which would be "qualified" under this bill.

I’m not so worried about Obama “falling for” ANYTHING. I’m more concerned about him giving it to Castro WILLINGLY. After all, we already know that some of Obama’s best friends have very strong ties to Cuba (Craig, Ayers)!

Again, Obama won’t be “falling for” anything. If there is one thing he’s not it’s stupid... He is a dyed-in-the-wool Marxist/Socialist/Communist. EVERYTHING he is doing is a result of THAT philosophy. He is a stereotypical “Red-Diaper Baby”...

Obama’s the ONE alright — the one McCarthy tried to warn us would appear 50 years ago...
(NOTE: Whether one agrees with McCarthy’s methods or not, he was right about the threat...)

There is a more appropriate flag to fly, especially when they start making noises about more gun control - the Gonzales Flag.

Thank you. I am familiar with that flag. I just don't own one....yet.

The Bonnie Blue is subtle. I doubt 2% of the Sheeple even know what it is. I'm looking for the 2% that do.

One, this bill isn't going anywhere.

You know this how? The Dims will ram through whatever they want.

They said the same thing about a certain first term Senator with no executive experience about 2 years ago.

Two, I absolutely promise to ignore this law and refuse to obey it.

Ditto, it would violate my oath to "support and defend the Constitution of the United States against *all* enemies, foreign and domestic". The hell of it is, I don't know which The One is, foreign or domestic.

If you can go to jail for an “unregistered” .22, why not have a machine gun?
