It will make it illegal to own a firearm unless it is registered with the database in Washington D.C. As a gun owner you will have to be finger printed, you will be required to provide your DL#, SS#, you must maintain a valid address at all times, submit to mental amd physical health records being put on file, you will also be required to file any address changes and you must report any ownership changes even if private sale.
Each update will cost $25 and if you fail to comply you will lose your right to own firearms and be subject to criminal penalties.
This bill and its language mirror almost completely one defeated last year in the House of Representatives by soon to be Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel. Will we the citizenry be as lucky this time?
We cannot let them pass this bill!

Seriously, this bill is an example of how Democrats overreach and accidentally show their hand.
Chance of reaching the floor, IMHO: None and none.
Doesn't mean we shouldn't keep an eye on it, though.
So what are they going to do put 20 million people in prison? Will ATF agents stake out gun ranges and sporting equipment stores to see who buys ammo, follow them home and confiscate their unregistered firearms?
As far as Gitmo, anyone remember that jimmah gave away the Panama Canal?
Wouldn’t such a bill require super majority passage? Would have to pass SCOTUS as well, course right now it wouldn’t get passed but in a couple of years??!!
I would usually tell people to joint the firearm lobbyist group of their choice....BUT, now I will just urge the people to buy lots of firearms and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots of ammo....

It will be interesting to see how many LEOs fall in line with this. I do not think many will....
I hope you are right but I have a feeling it will load up with sponsors once they pass the pork filled socialistic stimulus bailout for ACORN and birth control pills.
