Robert Reich: Keep stimulus money away from skilled workers and “white male contractors”

I missed Clintonite moldy oldie-turned-Obama economic adviser Robert Reich’s testimony a few weeks ago on how the government should spend federal stimulus money. The Berkeley professor engaged in academic fantasy land talk about getting all the cash out to workers as quickly as possible — a pipe dream debunked by the CBO report I mentioned in my column yesterday.

Even more noteworthy, however, were the comments Reich made about which workers deserve the stimulus bucks most. Reich’s proposal exposes the lie that the Obama administration is actually interested in revitalizing basic infrastructure for the good of the economy. No, what Team Obama really wants is to ensure that the least skilled, least qualified workers get jobs based on their chromosomes and pigment.

Reich wrote on his blog:

The stimulus plan will create jobs repairing and upgrading the nation’s roads, bridges, ports, levees, water and sewage system, public-transit systems, electricity grid, and schools. And it will kick-start alternative, non-fossil based sources of energy (wind, solar, geothermal, and so on); new health-care information systems; and universal broadband Internet access.

It’s a two-fer: lots of new jobs, and investments in the nation’s future productivity.

But if there aren’t enough skilled professionals to do the jobs involving new technologies, the stimulus will just increase the wages of the professionals who already have the right skills rather than generate many new jobs in these fields. And if construction jobs go mainly to white males who already dominate the

Reich needs his butt kicked - hard. It’s bad enough that the white man has to work twice as hard for twice as long now to keep up with those getting preferential treatment. Now this shrimp wants to cut off the white man completely. What is this, Zimbabwe?

That way Reich can join the unemployment line.

He can stand in the short line...

Reich needs his butt kicked - hard.

It is revealing that neither Reich, nor the committee, nor any reporters present saw anything untoward about what he said.

Reich has just mouthed some of the meanest, most discriminatory language imaginable in a free society. It was no "mistake", he meant to say it, and it represents an actual government policy of discrimination. But because he's discriminating against "white men", it's no big deal.

Heck, in their bizarro world, it's even justified!

"You sir are brilliant, as is this policy. If it is built right, the construction job will be gone. No more stimulus. If it is always being built and falling apart at the same time it provides a life-time high paying job. If we can get people unskilled enough and incompetent enough...We could actually build the same project forever. "

This is indeed the agenda, at least from my perspective, enduring government dependence for all the problems that government actually created.

I can solve unemployment!!!

Ok, the NFL, NBA, MLB players have all made enough money to last a lifetime. Ditto for the hollyweird actors.
SO.......let’s now put all those long-term unemployed folks that Reiche was talking about to work in the NBA, NFL, MLB and as actors in movies.

As Reich suggested, the owners can spend a little bit of time training them and then “voila”, they’ll be doing that job as if they spent years carefully learning the craft or sport through hours of practice, sacrifice etc. And the bonus of putting them in these jobs is that if/when they screw up, the jobs don’t impact public safety in any way.

Please share this with all your congressman. This will work!!!

Because I KNOW that all the movie stars are just aching to make a sacrifice for the poor. And those NBA players are well known for their altruistic projects.

A tax rebate for workers and tax payers would be an a good stimulus for the economy.

My CPA said not to bet on it if the family income is over $100,000 per year and maybe down to $75k for families and $50K for singles.

He feels that the rats want a dragging economy so they can increase our taxes in 2010 and maybe for the second half of this year. That is why he advised against deferring my IRA/MRD.

Remember the Clintoonian tax increase right after they got into office?

The poor Union construction worker doesn’t pay attention. I have found one that was very informed in politics, but he was an informed liberal (oxymoron I know).

The last informed Conservatives I’ve found in the field were non-Union.
