Sadly, the 3rd Quad-Annual Quadrennial Free Republic Inaugural Ball in DC has been cancelled due to lack of interest. There will be no refunds (seeing as how no tickets were sold - and none offered).
However, now is the time to begin planning a conservative offensive movement.
How many of you would like to attend a two day conference symposium, er "FReepmeet" regarding taking back our country? It's been suggested that if we do this, it should be held in a central location or airline hub like Denver or Dallas so a maximum number of FReepers can attend.
If not us, who? If not now, when?
Please post your ideas to the thread.
That is all.
Send information .... I’m past being ready....
Thank you.
It is more productive not to reinvent the wheel.
Rather than a group from all over who gets together
and not much will be done especially with various agendas.
Perhaps FReepers from each State can meet in their own states.
Work on getting Conservative Republicans to run for Congress, Governor, etc.
Example, those in Arizona work on having someone like former
Rep. J.D. Hayworth run in the primary against McCain in 2010 for the Senate.
Also as a group in each state, keep up pressing Obama and congress with E-Mails, etc.
re various legislation. Let them know they arn’t getting a free ride with their agenda.
You have to work at this and keep up the fight. Easier as a State by State program
rather than one big bi*** session and social gathering.
I’m in but of course that would depend on where, Hopefully I will be able to drive from Buffalo.
I’m violating my Fair Tax ping list rule but in this case I’ll make an exception. I hope my fellow Fair Taxers forgive me!FR ping!
'tis my job, man!
I’m in Jim!
All I need is the date, location and time.
Thanks! I thought I was going bonkers...
I guess if I had to state location preferences, it would be Memphis and St. Louis.
Otherwise, as much advance notice as possible. Money is tighter I need the time to get the best ticket prices and to get the time off.
I understand the whole hub concept, but a city with a good airport and lower prices will work too. I am not enthusiastic about flight changes, but if its worth doing....
I think face to face is a must. Chemistry happens and that chemistry produces enthusiasm and energy and those produce ideas and action.
State meetings and/or regional meetings....I’ll sign up for those too.
Life’s tough. Live free or die.
I used to live in Dallas and would really love a chance to visit again. Unfortunately I’ll be unable to travel for the foreseeable future due to a family health matter.
That said, if you can put this together I’d like to offer two suggestions:
1. There have been many good names mentioned of possible conservative notables to invite. I would suggest Texas’ own Susannah Gratia-Hupp as another to be considered, because the destruction of our gun rights is going to be a high priority of the incoming administration.
2. Perhaps Rush Limbaugh might be amenable to the idea that America now needs another “Bake Sale”. “Jim’s Bake Sale” has a nice ring to it, or maybe a “Foundering Fathers Bake Sale”. I can even see potential promotional angles such as “Don’t settle for the half-baked ideas coming out of Washington - come to the Founders’ Day Bake Sale and rediscover the authentic self-rising recipes for freedom of our Founding Fathers.”
In addition, it might be possible for Freeper Ann Coulter to get an opportunity to discuss this with Rush, if she thinks it’s a good idea. Together the two of them would make a formidable PR team for the effort.
Thanks for the opportunity to give my input, and best wishes in bringing the event to fruition!
I think Dallas is a great idea - if it’s in the middle of winter! :-) I’m freezing here in Madistan, WI!!

I like the “leadership in exile” idea.
We need some coordinated efforts.
Those of us who can’t attend functions in person could still say the same things but in different ways (political cartoons, commentary, etc.) on our Web sites. It’s obvious that until there are changes, we can’t get our talking points from the Republican Party. It’s time for us to emphasize how the Republican Party needs to function if they want our support. (I don’t see a third party as a workable solution; I say we take back our party!)
The opposition relies on spin — and the repeat-a-lie-often-enough-it-becomes-truth agenda. (Look at how they’ve falsified the meaning of “swift boating.”) We need to get facts out there in a systematic manner. Implement and use a repeat-the-facts-often-so-they-remain-the-truth program.
Should be "Founding Fathers Bake Sale". Sorry.
My vote would go to one of the following .....
Denver, Dallas, Atlanta or St.Louis. I believe all of these would be easily accessible from any of the 50 states.
I suppose Chicago is also easily accessible, so it would be a possibility.
Great ideas!
Las Vegas or Phoenix would rule!! Make it Las Vegas, Jim, PLEASE??
