Attn FReepers: The Free Republic Inaugural Ball has been cancelled.
Free Republic | Inaugural Eve, in the year of the Grate ObaMassiah 2009 | Jim Robinson

Edited on 01/19/2009 3:15:30 PM PST by Jim Robinson. [history]

Sadly, the 3rd Quad-Annual Quadrennial Free Republic Inaugural Ball in DC has been cancelled due to lack of interest. There will be no refunds (seeing as how no tickets were sold - and none offered).

However, now is the time to begin planning a conservative offensive movement.

How many of you would like to attend a two day conference symposium, er "FReepmeet" regarding taking back our country? It's been suggested that if we do this, it should be held in a central location or airline hub like Denver or Dallas so a maximum number of FReepers can attend.

If not us, who? If not now, when?

Please post your ideas to the thread.

That is all.

Indy, I too found FR because of the March for Justice. I also went to D.C. for the House Manager’s Rally. So we are both long-time Freepers. Now, as 11 years have passed since that time, I have grown older accordingly. There are a large number of Freepers such as myself who have no choice but to be Keyboard warriors. We do what we can. We write letters, send faxes and make calls. We campaign for local conservatives, etc. We just can’t pick up and travel across the country any longer. Age takes a toll. This time, if the meeting is within driving range for me, I will go. I always want to go, but it’s not always possible.

Thing is though, we all pay for our way.

Liberal groups all get funding.

If there is camping nearby and a bit of notice so Netmilsdad can take the time off work, we’re there.

The Dallas Hilton at Lincoln Center off LBJ is a great place to camp, and the Galleria right across the road offers plenty of room for hiking, exploring and collecting interesting artifacts... /g

Let’s start by finding a good candidate to go after John McCain’s senate seat in 2010’s primary.

Twenty years and still going strong is wonderful.

Seriously, congratulations. I hope you have several more happy twenty years.

Now I’ve gotta run; Mr. pax has been out of town since last Wednesday and he’ll be driving up any time!

It’s great seeing you again!

Yes, any of those would work for me. Also the VA, D.C. area would work for me.
