Friends, Americans, conservatives; lend me your ears. I come to praise George W. Bush, not to bury him; I'll leave that to our famously unbiased media.
*snip*
We can also be pretty certain that his departure will not feature the ransacking of the Oval Office and Air Force One, or the sophomoric removal of the "O's" from White House keyboards.
If, as has been the case for his entire presidency, he is true to his word, he will be as magnanimous to his successor as he was to his predecessor; notwithstanding the disrespect he received at the hands of both.

What wonderful pictures! Who is that woman, whose hand Bush reached behind him to hold? Was it a Memorial Service or something?
Thank you, SuziQ, and I'm not Sure of who the Woman in the Pic is; I have So Many Pics that I've Lost Track of the Details of them. But they are So Wonderful to See. God Bless, and Thank you Again.

Looking more closely at the picture, it looks like one of the gatherings at the White House, when they’re paying tribute to someone or the other. I just thought it was a very touching picture. Maybe he heard her softly crying, and reached back to comfort her, I don’t know, but it seems so typical of this wonderful, and yes, COMPASSIONATE, man. And the woman sitting next to the woman whose hand is being held seems to be smiling in appreciation of the President’s gesture.

As I approach the ending of my life, I am thankful that I have lived to see one of America’s best presidents. It has been a rare thing to have a man of real integrity in the White House. Now that I am nearing the sunset years, it is with great sadness that I realize that America is also in her sunset years. I pray that those of you who are young will remember that this president was a “good” man in every sense of the word. May God bless him in a mighty way.

I pray that those of you who are young will remember that this president was a good man in every sense of the word. May God bless him in a mighty way.I will remember, WVNAN, for as long as I draw breath, and eternally if God gives me the ability to remember forever. These next few photo reminders of a GREAT President are in response to your moving post.
Wearing a heavy Secret Service bulletproof vest under his windbreaker, President Bush takes the mound in historic Yankee Stadium during the World Series, October 2001, about a month after the terror attacks. He throws an absolutely perfect strike -- both in baseball terms, and in the sense of symbolizing American resolve and defiance in the face of radical Islamofacism.

A major security breach occurred during a presidential visit to Chile. Chilean police and security attempted to block the President's Secret Service detail from accompanying him inside a building where he was to meet with Chilean government officials. This is a photo of one showdown between one of our agents and the Chileans.
This could have easily escalated into an severely ugly incident, but...
President Bush reaches into the scrum and rescues his own lead agent.
The President then calmly readjusted his shirt cuffs and escorted our First Lady into the hall.

Although all of our presidents since George Washington have been commanders-in-chief, only Washington, Madison, and George W. Bush held that title at a time when the U.S. homeland was attacked by foreign enemies. (Texas was an independent state when it was attacked by Mexico. The Civil War was between Americans. Hawaii was not a state at the time of Pearl Harbor.)
President Bush never lost sight of the historical import of his actions as commander-in-chief and, like Washington before him, he never failed to honor the troops he led.
President Bush fist bumps with an Air Force Academy grad.
With his Army troops.
Comforting and encouraging troops on a plane bound for Iraq.
With his Marines.
And his sailors.

Although the media loves to throw around terms like "legacy," they never make note of the fact that the Clinton legacy led us straight to the terror attacks and virtually simultaneous anthrax attacks a mere 7 months and 22 days after GWB was sworn in. Taken together, those attacks were an attempt to cripple, if not completely bring down our government, news media, financial system and air transportation system.
ONE man -- only one -- stood between us and potential collapse in those dark days. Forget? Not possible, at least not for me.
Atop a burned out hulk of a firetruck at Ground Zero just days after the attacks.
One of the great tragedies -- indeed, betrayals -- of this nation was perpetrated by our seditious media, which meant not a word of what it was selling shortly after 9/11/01. I'll never forget their betrayal, either, or that of the rest of the American Left.

At the Pentagon memorial service some weeks after the attacks.
Will we ever see his like again? I'm highly skeptical that we ever will.
