Friends, Americans, conservatives; lend me your ears. I come to praise George W. Bush, not to bury him; I'll leave that to our famously unbiased media.
*snip*
We can also be pretty certain that his departure will not feature the ransacking of the Oval Office and Air Force One, or the sophomoric removal of the "O's" from White House keyboards.
If, as has been the case for his entire presidency, he is true to his word, he will be as magnanimous to his successor as he was to his predecessor; notwithstanding the disrespect he received at the hands of both.

You’re Welcome, NorseWood. God Bless!
He wins for WOT, tax cuts, and SCOTUS appointments.
loses on some big issues too
I’m ambivalent.
I really don’t understand why they let him get so beat up but then he dropped his base over and over.
Sad in a way.
But yes, history will be kinder than todays’s radical press.
"Either you are with us or you are for the terrorists."
~~George W. Bush
Words fail me when I try to express the admiration I feel towards Lady Laura. She is an inspiration and roll model.
In Iraq, September 2007
Oh, Kitty ... what memories. Got me the sniffies.
Thank you!! They’re wonderful, just wonderful backward
glances.
That is such a wonderful letter, Mozie .. thanks so much for posting it! These troops love and honor the CIC who holds them so dearly in his heart and every wartime decision.

That Thanksgiving trip just knocked me out. I’ll never forget it .. it was breathtaking.
What a thrill for our awesome military ... their CIC has NEVER had them far from his thoughts, prayers and respect. And they sure love him back.
Pray for our fantastic troops in the days ahead. God bless and protect them, especially now.
So well said, Wolfstar!!
You're a better person than I. I have no interest in him, nor any intention to watch any of his speeches or press conferences. I'm going to ignore him, and hope that his Presidency lasts only one term.
And that statement is as true today, as it was in Jan. of 2001.
I always get fahklempt when I read that part of the speech.
So true!! I guess they'll have to find another purpose in life, now that 'That One' is President, and George W. Bush is going home to Texas.
What wonderful pictures! Who is that woman, whose hand Bush reached behind him to hold? Was it a Memorial Service or something?
**MUST see video of Dennis Miller’s fantastic tribute to President Bush.

Thank you for this wonderful group of pictures, Kitty. I truly don’t think there’s a bad picture of this kind President. When a sincere person has a picture made, it is always perfect. No pretending from our President. He loves everyone and is not ashamed of showing it. It grieves me so that he is leaving soon.
That picture is worth a thousand words. Yes, he is a Compassionate Conservative.
This thread is helping me a lot to try to get through our wonderful President and his First Lady’s leaving Washington. I have had a hard time facing it just as I understand all these folks here feel the same way. Maybe we will get to see more of him. I pray for them daily.
I love that picture....and I’ve never seen that one! (Of course, President Bush has made a bad picture.) His face always tells the truth.
