Quite right. There is no outcome that would satisfy the genuine nutbags on this. You could have the delivering obstetrician and nursing staff offer sworn depositions and they would be accused of being frauds, plants, or Indonesian terrorist double agents. It is all so much crap. They guy was born in Hawaii - that makes him a citizen (and don't give me that "but, but he's not 'natural born'..."). He's going to be the next POTUS. I for one think conservatives better learn how to work with his administration or they really will be left out in the cold. You can't hold your breath until the next election.

I think it may be found that “0” has legally identified himself as a Kenyan or Indonesian citizen at some point in his adult life. Probably on his passport. If he has no US passport during his travels to Pakistan in the 80’s ... then Indo or Kenya may have such a record of his passport.
If and when that document surfaces, all heck will break loose.
I think you're referring to the contracted (federal) DOS employees who illegally accessed the passport files of all three candidates.
Know what, we don't have anyone to fight for us, we need a strong leader that is one of the people that are being trampled on.
I am from the old old school and have seen the best this country had to offer. It hurts pretty bad when the Supreme Court can find a way to "not discuss" a subject so important to so many people, especially one where it is so obvious there is a problem (this guy,or someone, spent a ton of money to hide the evidence.)
This country still has a lot of good in it but it will never be enjoyed the way it is going at the present time.

Presumably that means that SCOTUS won’t hold up any pending actions on the NJ SoS’s part, but has not actually rejected the case. CBB, can you confirm/explain this?

My guess is that they feel that since Obama really isn’t ‘elected’ yet there has been no damage done. My thoughts are that they want to give the Elector College a chance to straighten it out first.
I’m guessing that any future case may have a better chance after the Electoral College votes next week. Or maybe after the congress counts the votes in January.
I’m not holding my breath though.
I have been looking at that also. I haven't seen an update to the actual docket entry either; I imagine that we will see more details soon.
I hope (but don't expect) that we will see an opinion posted in the opinions on orders section about this case.
BTW, CNN just blurted out 60 seconds about SCOTUS denying the case. Bad coverage is better then no coverage at this point.
I've said several times I think this issue works to The One's advantage because it keeps people occupied on issues besides how to practically defeat his legislative agenda.
One thing for certain is that after January 20, 2009 we will see what we are made of.

How is the Donofrio case a conspiracy theory? Did you read the case? It refers to the question about whether a person born with dual nationality is eligible under Article II to meet the Natural Born Citizen clause.
Where is there a conspiracy in there?
jveritas, I have appreciated your contributions to FR, which are second to none.
However, I resent and hotly contest your characterization as “lunacy” the concerns that many people have regarding this issue.
This is a CONSTITUTIONAL issue, not some kind of sexual, corruption or even truthfulness issue. It is Constitutional.
Because it had or has little chance of overcoming cowardice, cronyism and bureaucracy does not mean it should NOT be examined.
I would think that YOU of all people, with the types of issues you have highlighted and the responses you have elicited, that you would understand better than anyone else. You are doing to others what has been occasionally done to you.
