The chasm between those who want President-elect Barack Obama to produce his birth certificate to verify his eligibility to hold the nation's highest office and those who simply support the Democrat is widening.
"The Constitution means what we today decide it means," opined one participant on a new WND forum that offers readers an opportunity to express their opinion on the birth certificate dispute.

Almost nobody in the US has ever heard of this. Its not an issue. Its not going to be an issue. No court is going to toss out the election results for this. Pretending otherwise is just wishful thinking at best.Vampire!
You'll have to do better than that if you want to suck the fighting spirit out of me.
Why not just turn yourself in to the Obot SS now, and get it over with? Leave the rest of us to rally 'round the flag.

"That's what we need right now. Not defeatism. There would never have been an America, if the colonists had succumbed to your mindset." Quite the contrary. They faced reality and acted accordingly.

If Obama or any of his acolytes were reading your comments, he’d be emboldened. Is that what you want?? Frankly, I’ve had it up to here with appeasers. We need to start letting these people know how angry they’re making us, and if you’re not angry, you should be. Your kind of ‘lie back and enjoy’ it talk Bart is what has allowed them to get away with so much in the past. I want things to change. I don’t want the left to keep winning, and this is one issue where they will not win.

I don't want to bring anyone down. I'm just facing reality. Reality? Reality is what you and I decide it is, Bart. The Founders made a choice in the face of a perceived insurmountable "reality", but look at what they accomplished.
It is our duty as Americans to uphold and defend that document that many of them gave their lives and fortunes for.
I'd rather die on my feet, than to live on my knees.

You should have put the whole quote up. As long as there are blithering morons out there, and there are many, it is going to be tough row to hoe. You don't win a fight until you understand the enemy. In this case it is ignorance. How do you defeat years of it?
Bart.

blackbart.223 is right. I understand the need for optimism but the courts have consistently thrown out these cases and I suspect they will do so again. The constitution is being ignored, the laws are being ignored, campaign finance laws are being selectively applied, election day fraud is now unremarkable. The list goes on.
This is getting bad and yeah, Obama being a Carter part deux would be good news. It could get far, far worse and too many of the little snots worshipping at their masters feet would do anything he asked.

Chasm? No, not hardly. The population of FreeRepublic is very well informed about political goings-on, but we are a tiny subset of a small minority of Americans. Almost nobody in the US has ever heard of this. I bet not even 5% of the population has even heard of this birth certificate controversy and of that percent most dismiss it as ramblings of right wing nuts.

I'd say about 2% at best.

As much as I despise Obama, I have to admire his audacity. He knows, has known for years that he his not eligible for the Presidency, but has gambled everything that he can hold people off until he actually takes office, at which time the “natural born” requirement becomes a dead letter.
It’s going to be up to the courts to decide. But frankly, I am not hopeful.

Jon Stewart, Katie Couric, and Wolf Blitzer... If these folks (or ones like them) never say anything, then the tree in the forest did not fall. And that is the sad truth. Our world revolves around these schmucky interpreters of reality.
Vampire!
You've got to bring more than that, if you want to suck the fighting spirit out of us, vampire.
Reality will not be settled without the full participation of American patriots. Suck that, vampire.

Bambam is bound to mess up someplace. A slip up will happen. Most of the time it's something so tiny that it was overlooked, or it hasn't had the chance to surface yet.
We have to keep an eye out for that needle in his sealed haystack. It's just not possible that he was able to cover all his tracks.
We have to also pray that eyes be opened and wisdom kick in.

In order to be a US Senator you have to have been a citizen for 8 years.
If Obama was never naturalized then he was never eligible to be in Congress.
If the Supreme Court takes the responsiblity to declare Obama ineligible (the burden of proof is on him) but is ignored for whatever reason the only recourse they may have is to refuse to swear him in.
If they don’t swear him in I don’t think he can be Prez.

"Can we have a President of the United States who has never proven to the country that he is eligible under the qualifications of the Constitution?"Looks like it is going to happen. What's a better to nullify the constitution than be elected when not qualified. When Obama is sworn in, the constitution is trash.
