I need some positive reasons why not to plan for a SHTF scenario.

Posted on 11/16/2008 3:15:11 PM PST by rfmad

I am seriously thinking of taking to steps to go to a survivalist approach planning to survuve total chaos and financial and institutional break down. Some one please help me see why this is not going to happen. Thanks

You won’t hear me saying it’s a crazy idea. I just think it’s prudent under any circumstances. Our grandparents, great-grandparents, etc. did it. It was not thought of as crazy. It was just something smart people did to survive whatever came their way. Most people wouldn’t know how to survive if they couldn’t stop at the grocery every night to buy their dinner, let alone how to cook it if there was no electricity.

I was checking out hubbys collection of rifles today ( most all WW1 and WW2 weaponry) and decided they were a bit to much for me. Tomorrow I get my very own. He is buying me an AR15 for our anniversary.
Odd spot I find myself in to be happy/relieved about such an anniversary gift.

I have spare tires, lug wrenches, and jacks in all my vehicles. I am not expecting to have a flat tire. However, I will be prepared if I have one. My family’s safety is of the utmost priority to me. I will do all I can if the unthinkable occurs.

There are numerous suits regarding the birth cert, not just Berg. As I understand it, each of the State’s SOS is required (or can be required by suit) to certify the eligibility prior to actually issuing its Satate’s Electorial Votes. MSM can not get around the Constitution, although the politicians may try.

If you want serious, non-looney advice on the subject (and you should) check out this site: www.survivalblog.com

Congress, the Military, the ultra-wealthy, etc. are all prepared. Why shouldn’t you be?

I worry about the Power Grid. My dad has the biggest Generac Power System he could buy. It has its own zip code. I think that’s my next purchase.

They are going to do the three step-cha-cha and sweep this matter under the rug./Just Asking - seoul62......

What bothers me most is Obomas radical Muslim connections ever since he was born. It's almost as if he's been raised for the presidency by radical Muslims.
He went to a Muslim school in Indonesia, and even the Saudis sent him to Harvard, and Wright/Farracon took him from there.
I can't help but feel all our national security secrets are already in the hands of radical terrorists. Why would he keep that info from those people/groups who raised him and carried him all his life?

Second in line is his Stalinist views for America. He actually wants to start his own in-country police force/army that'll do his bidding.

Yes, Oboma is creepy. I don't blame people for arming themselves and stocking up on Spam. There's a very good chance they just might need these things sooner rather than later.

I am in full agreement with you, but unless this matter starts picking up some traction in the mainstream media outlets, they will sweep this story under the rug. It is already Mid-November, moving onto December - when will things really heat up?????/Just Asking - seoul62.......

There is never, ever a good reason not to plan. Even if the possibility is remote....think it could happen and plan!

Now, in the current times, when the seriousness of the situation apparent, only a fool doesn't plan - and then act.

Dusting off the ole crystal ball, for the next 2-5 years, I see a steep and persistent recession and a bout of deflation as nearly certain, but not a depression. Contrary to intuitive reasoning, general civil disorder is extremely unlikely, but job stress and financial stringenyc will be pervasive. On the plus side, people will refocus on family and friends and will develop a keener sense of fundamantal value.

My mom was—and is—a survivalist. Gold, guns, wheat. My dad was a guardedly optimistic salesman, who always bought land when he closed a good commission. I think you have to be both. There are good opportunities for commerce in a world full of misfit Bolsheviks. Get out of the city and make money on the internet, or some version of that..

A suggestion if you live in a liberal city? Head for the rural areas. You'll find patriotic people there. The liberal cities will be the first places to crumble.

You shoulda been here leading up to Y2K
or immediately following 9/11!
I have neither the expectation nor the confidence
in any man, or any group of men, or any government
to provide for the safety or well-being of me or my family.
That is my job.

Given how nuts the world has become... I say now is the time to START living that lifestyle.

The way things have been looking, I think its past time already to start stocking food and supplies for whatever may come.

Mind you.. I have in the past been accused of being a “survivalist” lol
