I am seriously thinking of taking to steps to go to a survivalist approach planning to survuve total chaos and financial and institutional break down. Some one please help me see why this is not going to happen. Thanks
That’s just the Red Green in me talking.......:o)
Duct Tape Inc !
I guess I’m not alone, I started buying several 2+ year expiration date foods and storing them in my pantries. I also got a good amount of ammo with a variety of guns.
We built ours out of sliding glass doors the local subsidized housing units were replacing. We offered to take them away (for free) and save the complex the disposal costs. It was a win-win barter. We did have to buy a little wood, but it was worth it.
Go to survivalblog.com. He has an area on that blog that lists the best states and why. His #1 pick is Idaho. The guy who runs the site is John Wesley Rawles, survival expert. Wrote the books "Patriots, surviving the coming collapse". Course he wrote it at least 10 years ago, maybe much more. The book is written as a fiction but has incredible amounts of practical information woven into it.
They just "play" wise and rugged individuals on TV. :-)
That’s great! What are woobies? LOL! Those candles are on my list of things to get.
Agreed, I recently shot a 23 at trap using 2 9/16 load from the 30’s in a 1914 Browning A-5.
OK, I just posted to you telling you about the book and I scroll down and see you were recommending it to someone else. That’s the guy who runs survivalblog.com and again, he recommends Idaho.
“Red Green?” “Duct Tape, Inc.?” Hmmmm. What you talkin’ bout, Willis? :-O
As a happily married man, I’d like to give you a wink and hug for that one.
Hey, there’s TONS of great information on this thread. It wouldn’t hurt to read some of it, fatima.
Things are going to get a lot worse before they get better.
And depending on whether Obama is successful in going full-blown Ayers/Wright/Davis/Said on us, things might not get better.
Your fallout makes Portland look pretty safe, but I have it on good authority that Putin wants to hit those Portland hippies first. -_-
I’ve lived a good portion of my life in Wisconsin and we have bad-@ss tornadoes in the summer and terrible blizzards in the winter months. (I blame Al Gore.)
You’re basically a dumb-@ss if you’re not prepared for either, so what do you have to lose?
If your friends and family think you’re acting nutty, just tell them you’re concerned for their safety and lay in a basic ‘Natural Disaster’ larder.
Look at some of the sites in this thread, or look at the American Red Cross site for lists of stuff you should have on hand at any given time.
It’s not Rocket Science...and really has NOTHING to do with who’s living in The White House at any given moment.
Are you sure of that? How sure are you? Are you sure enough to bet your life on it?
Human nature is to fear the unknown- Obama has been very careful to make sure we know very little about him.
I am not running to any hills but I was always told it is good planning to plan for the worst and hope for the best.
An attack on Arizona's nuke plants ( from terrorists coming from across the southern border) would take out half the country's electrical grid.
We must all stick together. Remember, there’s no “I” in “survuve”.
