Wash Post: Pro-Life Views "Ideologically Offensive"

“Controversial.” “Onerous.” “Ideologically offensive.” These are the words used by Washington Post reporters Ceci Connolly and R. Jeffrey Smith to describe the pro-life policies of President George W. Bush. The liberal slam came in an article about some of the early actions President-elect Obama will seek to take when he is inaugurated next year.

“Obama Positioned to Quickly Reverse Bush Actions” was carried in the November 9 edition of the Post. The story revealed that Obama is “now consulting with liberal advocacy groups” in order to create a hit list of “the most onerous or ideologically offensive” regulatory and policy initiatives of the Bush administration. Two of the top three initiatives singled out in the Post’s story are pro-life: embryonic stem cell research and abortion funding. The other is global warming.

The Post also quoted Planned Parenthood president Cecile Richards who said the country’s leading abortion-provider is in near-daily communication with Obama’s transition team and “expects to see real change.” In other words, Planned Parenthood got the president they wanted.

No life = no liberty = no pursuit of happiness.
Got life but no liberty = no pursuit of happiness.
Got life & got liberty = pursuit of happiness.

Obama Says A Baby Is A Punishment

Psalm 137:9 applies, I believe to those who make a good living out of killing other people’s children. Of course, since our Rock is Jesus, when we remind God of this verse, we are asking Him to CONVERT the children of abortionists into His friends and the enemies of all that their parents stand for.

Diabolical is the word for the “prochoice” position. No accident that the communist states had the most permisive abortion laws. The aim is to destroy the family because it is a group that rivals the state for the loyalty of its members. It also fits the philosophic materialism of communists: it shows that the human being is no more than an animal. The sancity of life is simply a bourgeoisie sentiment.

The US owes an apology to Sodom.

“ideologically offensive” from them seems to indicate morally appropriate

Morality is timeless. Are the ten commandments not as relevant to day as they ever were?

Father, we worked so fervently to open our fellow humans’ eyes to the abomination of abortion and its’ importance in this American election. Our hearts are broken at the failure of our fellow citizens to see the truth. We recognize that we can always do more. We pray that You will show us the next steps we need to take to protect the most innocent and precious unborn children You create. Amen.

Controversial?”

Why can’t the anti-war people and MSM have the insight to realize they are actively promoting genocide in many nations through their acceptance and promotion of abortion and sterilization in Third World countries?

Why can’t our congressmen, senators and and new president realize the “onerous” burden they put on Chinese families who are restricted to having only one child oftentimes through forced abortions?

I find that it is “Ideologically offensive” and morally bankrupt for the United States Government to be instruments and promoters of population control funded by taxpayers.

In Forbes v. Napolitano (2001), the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals used the polio vaccine, among other things, to strike down an Arizona law banning experimentation on aborted fetal tissue. The court specifically ruled fetal tissue research must be legal to guarantee women the fullest possible range of “reproductive decisions.”

There’s an explanation for laws like this. Once you understand this basic concept, the evil makes more “sense”.

“fetal tissue” is a dead giveaway - forgive the macabre pun.

I guess “dead baby” would tweak the conscience too much?
Yes, this is exactly it.

Embryonic stemcell research, fetal tissue research, all this must be kept “legal” in order to NOT assign any human value to the pre-born.

Doing so would inevitably lead the conscience to tell those who have had an abortion, or been involved with encouraging one, that they have, indeed

KILLED A BABY.

Their psyches can’t handle that. They think that there is no forgiveness in the universe for such an act. Well, it IS about the most heinous sin you could commit, but the Lord forgives, even if you can’t forgive yourself.

I'm religious now partly because it became clearer and clearer to me that there was a force behind that mania much much deeper than its adherents cared to admit.

That's interesting, Claud. I went through a similar process. I finally perceived that there is evil in this world that is not fully attributable to selfish people acting to suit themselves. I mean that the evil goes beyond what any profit-pleasure-plaudit-loving person could want, in terms of "rational self-interest," and it drives on and on beyond what even a maddened animal would do.

So the depths of evil are not "bestial." Human beings do not sink to the level of the animal. We sink to the level of the demonic.

And in a paradoxical way, that's why I believe in God. There must be a Supremely Good Being who can and will prevail; because if not, we're already in hell.

It just goes to show you how completely the liberal left in this country has dominated the terms of this debate. That it is now controversial, onerous and ideologically offensive to stand up for the rights of unborn humans.

I came to belief in a slightly different way. I had fallen away from my Catholic faith and was living in limbo, not sure if God exists at all. As I considered evolution, I could accept that people physically today are in fact different than they were thousands of years ago. It occurred to me that those differences were more likely a product of environment, nutrition and genetics.

But, what struck me and really made me see the hand of God was the fact that though people may differ physically, they do not differ in nature. The sinfulness of man is the same today as it was in the beginning. There is greed, selfishness, lust, anger, envy and all the other things that make men treat other men badly. On the other hand there has always been kindness, generosity, and love.

It made me wonder why is it that only humans can act the way they do, and feel guilt or pride in those actions? Animals behave according to their instincts. They have no malice toward other animals, they just do what they do because they can’t control their instincts. The Bible tells us that the devil caused the fall and that brought sin, death and suffering into the world. The Bible also tells us that God’s law is written on our hearts. That is the only explanation that makes sense to me. When I read Scripture I am ever amazed at the insight into human behavior exhibited in writings thousands of years old. Psychiatrists and psychologists study for years to understand what is so plainly exposed in Scripture.

It is for this reason that I accepted that God exists, that the Bible is His inerrant Word and that I will spend the rest of my life trying to adhere to it.

Romans 2:14-15 explains how "the Law" is written on everyone's heart, ie, it is innate in our humanness.
