I took some time today to research the opinion of black conservatives in our nation because I for one am not buying the view of a severely racially divided America that the junior Senator from Illinois, Barack Obama, is so desperately peddling.
Though few in number, the 10 +/-5 percent of black voters who will remain steadfast Republicans in the face of potentially tremendous cultural pressure in this historic election deserve to have their opinion heard.
What follows is a series of opinions written by black conservative Americans who will be voting for McCain Palin in the Presidential Election of 2008.
--------------------------------------------------------- "I am a black man and I am voting for McCain. My most of my family is sitting this one out, because I showed them all the bad things Obama has done and after seeing that no one in their right mind could vote for him, so they said they would vote for no one. I would not worry about the 90% of blacks who will vote for Obama. Many do not even vote and the Republican party is not going to let Obama break ther rules on college campus and offer student "incentives" to vote for him. The Republicans will have their act together and yes he may get 90% of the black vote but he will ge getting 90% of a small pool."

"I am Black, and for McCain. Because even Obama a smart man knows elections are not about race and color it is about what is right for the country and others abroad. For instance in the Iraq situation, while the naive Democrats think leaving Iraq now is a good strategy, it is a dangerous one. How do you wished to withdraw the troops from Iraq when Iraq is still in power vacuum. Remember the insurgency is real in Iraq, and the provisional government there is not popular and not strong enough to secure the entire country. So leaving Iraq now is a green light to a massacre by armed insurgents and warlords all for their personal interests and views. Iran, Syria and others will also bring their issues there also. I think there will be a genocide in Iraq if the US leaves now, the government will be over ran, and people who once supported the US and the government will be massively massacred."
"I am giving this thought from experience, because I lived in a similar situation."

---------------------------------------------------------"Considering it [voting for McCain]?"
"It's the only choice for me!"
"The political black community are the most racist, vicious and divisive group in America. WE call our most honorable and accomplished black leaders some of the most hateful viseral comments possible when we disagree with them politically i.e "uncle Tom" "house ******" "Hoe and Skeezer" as in the case of Condelezza Rice, Clarence Thomas and Colin Powell)."
"I won't be bullied by a group of THUGS!"
"I'm an intelligent, proud BLACK, independent thinker!"
"This is why I'm voting for senator McCain:
He is indisputably the most experienced, patriotic, respected, unambiguous politician in the race, who has shed his literal blood, sacrificed his freedom and risked his "very life" for America and it's principles and has a "proven" track record of of bringing the opposing political parties to agreements to better serve the American people!"
(Ask Yahoo: Blacks Voting for McCain? Answer from: "Tee3") ---------------------------------------------------------
"I think people will be surprised."
"There are many Republican/conservative black voters out there who are tired of the black movement that blames everyone else for the problems of blacks over the centuries and uses this excuse to be irresponsible."
"They are hard working people with a strong value system. They believe in their country, our system of democracy, and capitalism - not socialism. They understand that no man is perfect and there is room for mistakes, however, every man must strive to be good and "faithful" to himself, his family and country. Otherwise our country will die."

"Obama believes that racism is still a big problem in the lives of black Americans -- something I don't believe," says [black conservative] Joe Hicks.
Joe Hicks is one of the loyal few [black conservatives]. He works as a conservative radio host for KFI 640 in Los Angeles. He also heads up a non-partisan political think tank that rebuts predominant views on race and society.
For most of his life, Hicks was a proud liberal, even a Communist. But today, he ...[is] pledging his support to John McCain and the Republican Party.
"I kinda like the idea of a guy who loses his cool," Hicks admits, referring to McCain's notorious temper. With that unwavering, convincing voice of his, he adds, "and Sarah Palin is a good pick too."
He [Hicks] argues that this country needs to look through a trans-racial lens -- one that de-magnifies the prominence of race in society -- in order to address its problems. The black population, in particular, needs to reject the victim-based racial identity ascribed to it by those "NAACP whiners and complainers." Most black conservatives contend that affirmative action and similar Democratic policies only reinforce racial prejudice by advantaging certain groups of people over others.
"The notion of a color-neutral society may be idealistic," says Hicks, "but I think most people already get up in the morning, go about their business, and don't think about their race . . . we may not be completely there yet, but I think that's the good fight to be fought."
Why, then, isn't Barack Obama a suitable means for Joe Hicks and black conservatives to achieve (or inch closer to) the racially transparent end they so desperately seek?
For Joe Hicks, the decision not to support Obama comes down to political principles. He is not willing to forgo his conservative stance on a number of core issues, including the economy, national security, small government, and personal liberty.
"How strongly do you really feel about your political principles, if you can be so blinded by skin color and so enamored by this notion of the first black president?" asks Hicks.
Joe Hicks isn't ashamed to check the box next to McCain's name on the November ballot. Joe Hicks does indeed break the mold -- but mostly because he's black. His Republican leaning makes him an atypical black voter, and his blackness makes him an atypical Republican.
"I'm conservative. I'm a Republican. Beyond that, I find the whole racial component a bit odd," he says.
From Hicks's perspective, there is nothing black and white about being black or white. So, in this election, he intends to do his own thing, vote for McCain, and add a little gray to the big picture while he's at it.

"I may [vote for McCain]. I agree with McCain on more issues than Obama. I have my absentee Ohio ballot in front of me. I need to find out once and for all if Palin is truely qualified for the position shes in. So my decisioon will likely be made after the debates tomarrow."
"It does pain me that blacks throw so much support behind the democrats..It hurts us all in the long run when they do that. "

Here's a link to an excellent video that features a young, handsome, black American man who PASSIONATELY supports McCain-Palin and wants other blacks who are pro-Obama to understand why (I found this video on Tennesseefree.com).

Why vote for McCain??
1. With any presidential election the new candidate would have to fill about 3000 positions. The pool of selectees is a lot healthier and diverse on the Republican side than the Democratic side. I shudder to think of the people in Barak Obamas inner circle that will be placed in the various offices of government that will have ultimate control of the United States.
2. Senator McCain has stated that Samuel Alito and John Roberts are excellent Supreme Court picks. McCain has stated that if he got the chance to pick a judge he would pick judges in the flavor of Alito and Roberts. He has stated that he will pick Conservative Judges who will interpret the Constitution as it is written and not make up laws due to popular opinion. The next president will be in position to select at least two court judges. Ruth Bader Ginsburg will be 76. John Paul Stevens will be 88. Senator Obama has stated that Judge Ginsburg is his idea of a great choice. Ginsburg, the former ALCU lawyer, has stated that 13 year old girls should be able to get an abortion without the consent of their parents. Both she and Senator Obama advocate government mandated sex education in kindergarten.
3. Senator McCain does not support the SB2433, the Global Poverty Tax. This bill written by Barack Obama mandates that an 845 billion dollar tax be extracted from Americans on top of the support we willfully give to the third world. This payment amounts to a 255.00 payment per month be given to people outside the United States whose income falls below our standard of living. This tax will be collected by the IRS, given to the United Nations for distribution which will find its way into the despots instead of the poor its intended to.
4. Senator McCain has a proven record of working across the aisle. This is one of the reasons why the Conservative Base is mad with him. The McCain/Liebermann global warming bill, the McCain/Feingold finance bill and the McCain/Kennedy immigration bill all show proven, not exactly favorable actions of reaching across the Congress to get things done. Senator Obama does not have the intestinal fortitude to do this as he has voted present 131 instead of the yea or nea required and flip flops whenever politically convenient.
5. McCain supports the Second Amendment. Two months ago in a 5/4 ruling the Supreme Court struck down the DC Gun Ban. Americans were just one vote away from losing our Right to Bear Arms!!! Senator Obama supported the DC Gun Ban, told Commentator Leon Harris that it was Constitutionally Correct and voted No on supporting Hale Debarr the Willamette home owner who shot and killed an intruder inside his home. Altering the Second Amendment to take away guns is in line with belittling our population to accept the Senators Global Poverty Tax
6. John McCain has a better health care program. He believes that families not government should be in charge of health care. The Democrats dont like this because it requires that the definition of families be clarified. He has advocated that all individuals receive a 2,500 tax credit, 5,000 for families to purchase competitive care. Obama wants the same people who run local DMVs, to run your health care
7. Senator McCain does not support the repeal of secret labor ballots. The Unions, emboldened to the Democratic Party does not need to know who voted against them. They may come up missing!!!
8. Senator McCain has vowed to keep taxes low. The Senator has stated that he will maintain the Bush Tax Cuts, the now 15% capital gains tax, repeal of the Death Tax and the AMT. Senator Obama wanted to double the capital gains to 28% but just today he flip flopped to 20%. During the primaries, Senator Clinton advocated 20% and he attacked her about it. He wants to eliminate the Bush tax cuts and the AMT. And with Obama, the Death Tax or Estate Tax will continue to deny inheritances and small businesses .
What excuse do you have now??????

"Traditions die hard...unfortunately. So many African Americans are voting for Obama ONLY because he is black and ONLY because they've voted for democratic candidates all their lives. Many I know are pro-life, but traditions die hard. Obama brings something that many African Americans have been waiting for: legitimacy in being an American. Slavery caused us to be Americans w/o choice in the matter. Many have struggled to be viewed by society as equal and just as significant as any other person. But we can't vote for the President based on skin color and party tradition. The government can't take care of us forever. Even Abraham Lincoln said, "A government big enough to give you everything you want is a government big enough to take away everything you have," as quoted by Huckabee, I think, at the RNC. As an African American female, mother of four, I am saddened by so many of my race who have adopted a paradigm that will hurt them in the end more than help them. Statism makes government the savior. It subtly destroys self-motivation and ingenuity. Statism and socialism, gives improper authority to governments. People are deceived when they believe that the government can answer needs better than localities and communities, private industry and individual incentive. Poverty and health-care is a big thing for African American Democrats. Rightly so, however, communities and churches can and SHOULD do a better job of caring for the under-priviledged among them. Private health care will always be best in terms of affordability and choice. Problems come with greed, lawsuits, and corruption within the medical and health care business, but allowing the government to control health care is not the best answer. Don't tax me and spend it on what 'you' (the government) think is best. Let me donate to local and state organizations, food banks, homeless shelters, educational services, etc. As far as moral issues... I'm pro-life all the way and the Obama's must have missed the Sunday School class that taught about God's view on human life. I believe they are Christians...but unfortunately there are many Christians that don't have a biblical worldview on certain issues. Now, I know I'm not the only Black conservative out there. I think it's time for us to not be silent anymore. Yeah...we may be persecuted by our own race, but it's time to voice our convictions and not be ashamed of them."

Well, that's my post. I hope EVERYONE who read these comments (and watched the video) gained some insight on the views of the conservative voices we have in our nation.
What we know better now than perhaps we did before is that our nation, today, right now NEEDS ALL conservative voices to sing as ONE VOICE on Nov. 4, 2008.
This SINGLE VOICE of American conservatism is something that in this past week I have felt building and taking shape in the nation. Pray that the tide continues to rise.
Remember, we couldn't win if the Republican Party didn't have the good fortune to be running two OUTSTANDING CANDIDATES for election:
United States Senator John Sidney McCain and Alaska Governor Sarah Palin
Also, we will win because we are now speaking with ONE STRONG CLEAR CONSERVATIVE VOICE.
We thank You God for John McCain and Sarah Palin.
God Bless America!
God I hope this is true. That really did make me feel better. Maybe there is hope for this human race after all.

Thanks for posting.
Because there are smart, patriotic, fair minded Americans of all shapes sizes and colors...as this proves.
Very much appreciated.
We work with a fair number of blacks in DC. Many are for Obama, and that’s understandable on the racial pride front. However, I was surprised at how many have expressed serious concerns, some of which have been posted in the thread.
Either way, n0bama can keep his change. I want so part of it.
Amazing << Hear this.
“Amazing << Hear this.”
Wow!
Nuttin but Stringz: struggle from subway to the charts - “Broken Sorrow”, that melody is so hauntingly beautiful, powerful, mysterious, and moving.
I loved it alot.
Thanks for sharing that.
I’ll be voting for McCain because he sucks less than Obama.
bttt
Welcome back! I missed ya.
As for why I’m not voting for Obama? I’ve seen the ugly side of the black “leaders”. They’re all a group of windbags that really have no solutions. In fact, look at all of their doctorates. They’re either in African American studies or some sort of other useless degree really offers no real world skills. The entire country is going to be ran like the Southside of Chicago if we elect this windbag in, and once he’s in, he’s going to muddy the waters for black politicians for ages to come, both Democrat and Republican, because he’s an idiot.
Remember when Jackie Robinson was chosen to break the color barrier, how he had the right temperament? Obama has the exact opposite temperament and will have a reverse Jackie Robinson effect for America.
‘Zo’s a Freeper? I love his video - I’ve passed it all around.
And Zo, I love your music! Thank you.
Great post, and very encouraging. I myself am one of those rare birds, a black conservative.
Funny that I should bump into this post - I just spent the last two hours surfing black conservative websites and forums. I had no idea there were so many.
There is an honest and growing movement of conservatism in the black community. It’s still small, but thanks to the internet, a lot of folks of like mind in the black community are beginning to network and build coalitions.
In my opinion, blacks are going to become a high profile presence in the Republican party over the next four years. We’re only beginning to see the tip of that iceberg right now.
never heard of Nuttin but Strings...I ended up downloading every single YouTube video..thanks.
My favorite is ‘Dance with my Father’.
WIndflier,
What a good post. I’m getting that feeling, too. I’ve spent the last two nights making GOTV calls at the local Republican HQ, in the loony San Francisco area.
I’ve made calls to people who are new Americans, of every nationality, every age ... lots of them are very clear and excited that they’re voting McCain/Palin. And we’re asking them to spread the word to friends and family.
I was talking with some of my fellow volunteers - one works with teachers and nurses, and a bunch of them (all races: white, black, Hispanic, Pacific Islander...) whispered to her that while they couldn’t admit this at work, they planned to vote for McCain, and that they just couldn’t vote for Obama - way too left. They are expected to support Obama, but can’t and won’t do it.
I think - and pray - we’ll be surprised. The polls are considerably off, I think. They’re not accounting for the Operation Chaos Dems, or the PUMAs for Hillary - all voting McCain/Palin.
Odd - what’s less tolerant than the left?
...very interesting, thanks for posting.
While it is heartwarming to see these Black individuals express such views, I prefer to think of them as my fellow U.S. Citizens, a group of people who are as loyal and loving of this nation as any other U.S. Citizen. Their skin color means nothing to me.
Let’s get real. I don’t know of a single White Conservative that would be upset that a Black man would become President. When the right Black man comes forth, he’s going to get my vote. And he’ll get my vote based on his sound vision for where this nation needs to go. Show me a guy who is a U.S. Citizen and is green, and I’ll vote for him if he has the right core values.
J.C. Watts was one of my favorite Congressmen. He always had a positive attitude. As far as I know he always came down on the right side of issues. If I learned more about him and my perception held up, I would vote for that guy without hesitation, to be President of the United States.
As a White person, it is sad for me to see Blacks cast nine of ten votes for someone who will simply use them, exploit them, race bait on behalf of them.
I have long held that Blacks don’t have to vote like I do, but their votes should reflect the society at large closer than it does today. When that vote does mirror the society at large, racism will truly have become something from the past, that many of us wish hadn’t happened.
Republicans do not hate Blacks. They want them to lead happy successful lives. How could they do that, if they were not financially successful? Republicans support a business environment that floats all boats. That is a solid loving policy. It isn’t pandering like the Democrats do. It is truly teaching a fellow man how to fish, instead of keeping him down on the plantation, where he has to beg for one continually throughout the decades.
I believe Blacks will be better served, by the policies of John McCain. I believe that, because I think all Americans will be best served by his policies vs Obama’s. And so I wish good things for Blacks over the next four years. I wish them to benefit from a more sound nation. Wishing that for all U.S. Citizens, how could I think any differently when it came to Blacks? I don’t focus on Blacks, but addressing their actions during elections on a thread like this, I do want it clear what my hopes for them, for all of us are.
Thank you for this thread. Excellent views were expressed in your post. They sound like FReepers this go round.
The Marxist Effect at work.
The combination of the MSM shamelessly transforming itself into an overt propaganda arm of the Obama campaign, the liberally biased weighting of the national polls in Obama's favor, the weakly run McCain campaign, and the pervasive fear of breaking the political correctness code among many Americans, has created an overall false impression of this presidential race.
If the media had done its job to properly vett Obama and McCain evenhandedly, and the pollsters had not biased the weighting of their polls in Obama's favor, and McCain had run a more aggressive campaign, and if folks weren't so doggone scared to stand up and be honest about their choice for President, we'd be seeing the race as it actually exists.
On November 5th, only Freepers and the right blogosphere will understand exactly why Obama failed so miserably in his quest for the presidency. The left-media, the Democrat party, and the useful idiots who vote for them will think we've "stolen" another election.
