Sen. Barack Obama jumped to a 7-point lead in a Pennsylvania statewide poll of registered voters conducted between Sept. 23-Sept. 28 by Franklin & Marshall College.
Franklin & Marshall poll director G. Terry Madonna told Tribune-Review reporter David M. Brown that the fundamentals are shifting in Obamas favor with some support gains coming from female and independent voters.
Late last evening, I stopped into a Southwestern Pennsylvania auto service garage and asked the three gentlemen working on various vehicles what their thoughts were on the election.

Come on, Keystoners.
That’s what they want you to believe, he’s going to lose PA BIG.

There is no justification for polling registered and not likely voters this late in the game, unless you have an agenda.
See tag line and don’t believe this garbage even for a second.
read the whole post, when I saw the poll I turned around and went out and found three democrats and what their thoughts were.
Are you a conservative Salena? Or are you just here to promote Salena Zito?
Nothing personal, just asking.
mmmm best if you judge yourself :)

Inside the article:
None of the three men wanted to be identified by name. Two of the three said they were registered Democrats (the other an independent), and each of them said they would be voting for Sen. John McCain.
We are the voters that no one ever polls, one mechaninc said. While the talking heads tell us what a bad job Gov. Sarah Palin has done on recent interviews and props up Barack Obama as having won the debate because he didnt lose it, they dont account for our votes along the way.
Good work Salena. As always.
These polls are making me dizzy. I live right over here in Southeastern Ohio which is a lot like Southwest PA politically. I dont know what it is. But I feel like there is something these pollsters are missing. Something is just not right.
Obama’s lead has to be the most shaky, fluffy lead in the history of politics. held up by toothpicks.
I do like your column and read it regularly.
On may way there tomorrow! and yes very similar voting bloc’s lots and lots of Scots Irish who vote God, weapon and with a total mistrust of government
The agenda is to produce a poll on the cheap.
college pollsters
I have to echo what others have said. Obama won't take Western PA. He does not appeal to the Steel Worker/Mine Worker/Teamster type male voter. People I know are so afraid to be called racist, but will vote their way on 11/5. Do you get a pro-0bama vibe from Rendell? I sure don't...I think he is just going thru the motions (so I don't think Philly will turn out at 110%). Your thoughts?
So you are here to promote yourself.
You should pay Jim Robinson for the eyes. It’s only fair.
Hey se_ohio_young_conservative, what town are you near? I'm near the I70-I77 juncture.
Franklin and Marshall polling is used alot here in PA. Terry Madonna is a PA talking head on election nights/debate nights...etc.
