How is this a smear?

She was probably pretty much putting herself through college and working and doing a number of other things as well. Many people in that situation go through a number of colleges or programs before they get their degree.

Not like some affirmative action mystery who was recommended as a worthy project for Harvard by one of the founders and bankrollers of the Black Panthers. The aforementioned mystery man candidate refuses to release his college transcripts or records, btw.

Let’s see...

she wanted to see what Hawaii was like. It wasn’t what she expected, or maybe money was tight. She transferred to a Juco, then on to a 4 year college. Maybe she needed to be home for family reasons so she goes back to Alaska for a semester, then transfers back to Idaho. That’s more moving around than most students do in four years, but I can think of a reasonable explanation for each one, and see nothing to indicate either instability or that she left any school under a cloud. She made steady progress and graduated in not much longer than the standard length of time.

The big thing I see is there were no breaks. If you get kicked out of school for academic or disciplinary problems, you generally have to sit out at least a semester before any school will admit you.

lest we forget that biden plagiarized at SU law school and was nearly thrown out, when he graduated it was at the bottom of his class.

If this is true, my guess on the harmless explanation?

Went to Hawaii on the beauty contest prize, did what many freshmen do (not take their classes seriously enough) and to be honest, if you went to Hawaii from Alaska, would you be going to class? Unlike Obama, she didn’t live there for years and she was a teenager at the time.

At that point, either she or he parents decided she needed something a little less distracting so they set her up in their old home state. Now, the rest of the pattern including junior colleges and going back to Alaska for class, suggests money-saving and/or “get back on track” measures, something the media elite probably won’t understand but regular Americans will. If it turns out that she was going to those other colleges to save money because of her normal American background, this is going to make them look like fools.

I don’t see anything here that implies that she did anything wrong or anything that lots of other kids don’t do.

Reminder: Her father is a retired teacher and they came from Idaho. Odds are at least modestly high that some tuition benefits may have been available to him (and her) as a result of that.

As for a stint in Hawaii, school away from home is pricey. Maybe too much so.

It would be useful to know when she married, too. If she was not married until finished college, it’s pretty common for students to follow boyfriends or girlfriends to different schools.

Utterly typical and innocent stuff.

She attended Idaho, whose mascot is the Vandals, from fall 1984 to spring 1985.

Can't wait for the msm to report, "Palin associated with terrorists in college."

Federal privacy lasw prohibit the schools from disclosing her grades...

George W. Bush's transcript was somehow made available to be published in a hit piece in The New Yorker in late 1999, to provide material for the liberals to make fun of his grades. Probably someone at Yale with access to student records leaked them quietly rather than the university doing so openly.

Revelations that she ate raw cookie dough as a high school student.

I bet she ripped off those 'do not remove under penalty of law' tags from her pillows too~! And she might have run with scissors MORE THAN ONCE!

Rode her bike without a helmet!

Big deal. I attended 3 colleges in 3 years too. I finished all my work from my BA in Molecular Biology from UCSD and half of my master's work at SDSU in that time frame. Concurrent with my first quarter at UCSD, I was completing a Fall semester at Southwestern College to avoid wasting time before the Winter quarter started at UCSD. If you include the additional credits that I took at UCSD Extension, it was actually 4 schools in 3 years. Sneaking an extra 4 unit class at the Extension was the only way I could manage taking 22 units (18 UCSD/4 Extension) without having the Provost's office on my back.

How about asking if Sarah ever flunked a class because of plagiarism like Biden did?

The moonbats are in full flopsweat mode.

at least it was an earned degree not purchased from a diploma mill which many government bureaucrats and officials have used to pad their resumes. At a conference several years ago two human resource directors from WDC were saying the incidence of such had become an epidemic.

The Hawaii one is really a stretch. In areas of the country where colleges don’t really have breaks in Florida or the Bahamas (read, flyover country and northwest), it is not unusual for an adventuresome kid to take a semester or two in a college located in a nice warm location like Hawaii. I grew up in Idaho and several of my friends took a year or two there. The worked on GE requirements that would transfer later on and in the meantime had a nice time relaxing. It’s not a negative in my view.
